Suspect arrested after driving into police cruiser, striking officer

- A man is in police custody after running into a police cruiser in Whitehall on Monday evening.
Authorities stopped the vehicle driven by 37-year-old Aaron Moore in a parking lot near East Main Street, but Moore reversed and drove away, striking an officer and a cruiser.
Moore was charged with felonious assault and failure to comply in addition to his warrants from Dublin police. He is being held in the Franklin County Jail.

Police officers run plates all the time. This just makes it easier. The only people who should be concerned are those who are breaking the law.
The thing is that is not right. Just because some camera says it's someone with warrants who is to say that said person is driving. They still would have to have a right to pull him over. Not just because they think it's someone that has Warrant.

If a person gets stopped, my understanding is that they ask you to present your license and proof of insurance and car registration. Now remember, people who flee the scene choose to not present these items of verification and raise immediate suspicion.
@@debbiecreter2005 just saw one where they felony stopped on a misread plate , didn’t verify, and felony stopped ( which is pointing guns and making them walk backwards) with terrible and conflicting directions. It is different though when someone is trying to run you over you can dodge and move out of the way unlike a gun it’s a whole lot harder to dodge and get out of the way from bullets.

It doesn't surprise me that they would use tactics like this. Who's to say that wasn't a friend or family member driving the vehicle? Whitehall is the most crooked police department I've EVER dealt with. I lived there for over 15 years and was constantly harassed for things like working on my car at 4 in the morning when I had to be at work at 6am. I had the hood up, work lights all around it and tools all around the ground. Two Whitehall cops came up and accused me of trying to steal my own car on my own property. Another time I was walking back from a grocery store around 6:00 p.m. with bags of groceries and a cop pulled up beside me and asked me what I was doing and where I was going. Clearly I was walking home with groceries. I saw a Whitehall cop pull over a woman on the next street over and get her out of the car. She was visibly drunk and wearing a dress that someone would wear to a night club. The cop who initiated the traffic stop took her to the side of his car where the dash cam couldn't see what was going on and he started groping her. Not searching, groping. One time I was sitting in my car with my friend. She had just shown up and we were sitting there trying to decide where we wanted to go eat. A Whitehall cop pulled up behind us and started asking us why we were sitting in my own vehicle in front of my house. Another time a friend of mine was bringing me home from work. We were sitting in her car and I was thanking her and saying goodbye. I had pulled out some money for gas and handed it to her. She put the money in the cup holder. Just then a Whitehall cop pulled up behind us and started shining his spotlight in the car. He walked up with his flashlight and just stood there without saying a word. I asked him what was going on. He said it looked like she was a prostitute and I was paying for her. The reality is she is a nerdy looking genetic scientist and she was driving her brand new mustang. Another time I was sitting on my own property in my car. I was obviously parked and had the ignition off. A Whitehall cop pulled in front of me and started asking me what I was doing. I told him that I live there and to run my plates, compare it to the address, then leave me alone. He ran my plate and it came back for another car, a different owner and a different city and address. Luckily an older cop who could actually read and wasn't dyslexic showed up. He figured out that the first cop was too damn stupid to read the license plate correctly. Those are only a handful of instances. I have several more about that crooked Police department. And before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm a white middle aged conservative male who has never smoked anything, drank, or done drugs and have no arrest record.

Title is wrong. This was never a simple traffic stop. You earned a thumbs-down. The officer deserves one too for not even blocking the vehicle in when he knew there was an arrest warrant for the owner.

No, they don’t always have to use deadly force and a lot of the times officers fire their weapon at someone in a vehicle, they aren’t even in the oath of said vehicle and the person isn’t trying to hit the officer at all. They’re just running. Police take advantage of that and they shoot whether the person is close to hitting them or not. They can be 5ft away and slightly facing another direction clearly trying to get away and not hit anybody and would have to literally turn their wheel and change their angle and direction to hit the officer. As long as the officer try’s to open the door and the person tries to run, they’re going to say the officers life was in danger and they’re going to shoot because of that

This was an illegal stop. Driver did nothing wrong and did not need to ID for the tyrant.
