@@teamworkdigital5850 yes , but what about image quality and sharpness? I know that some of the phase one reflex lenses are basically rebranded (sometimes quite old) mamiya 645 lenses
@@tiziocaio8657 All Schneider lenses for the XF Camera System are newer designs than those for the Mamiya 645. There are some Blue Ring lenses which are the same as their previous Silver Ring design : the 55mm, 80mm, 110mm, 150mm f3.5, 240mm and the two zoom options. There are some which are a cut above the rest: the 35mm, 45mm, 80mm Mark II, 120mm, 150mm f2.8. These are newer lens designs, and never had a previous optical equivalent. I'm not sure it's all that useful to judge them on sharpness and image quality alone, as these to a large extent are subjective conclusions. They are all very very good lenses, but suited for different things. For instance, the Schneider lenses are designed to perform beautifully when out of focus, in a portrait situation for example. This isn't a focus of the design with Rodenstock - they are designed to be used in a landscape or architectural scenario where foreground-to-background focus is more desirable.
No doubt this is great for architectural photography. Lately, I've been shooting an IQ180 on an RZ67 Pro IID with the HX701 plate. Due to the large RZ lens image circle, the images are better than what I can get with that same back on an XF body with a blue ring lens. It's sad that Phase One hobbled support for the RZ on the IQ4.
There is no native macro lens, but it is possible to have (selected) Schneider/Rodenstock lenses fitted onto an XT panel, and the Schneider Apo-Digitar 120mm Macro is an option.
Who buys this camera and for what? What is the end result in terms of output compared to many comparable camera system at 1/20th of the price. I can understand this kind of beast for filthy rich to satisfy one's elongated ego, but what is cost-benefit for professional use of this camera?
Nice Al, a dream camera. Would like to test it with the 32mm. I've got some jobs coming up where I might be able to rent it first. Worried about the limitations of 12mm shift. Need to see that in practicable use. For the money, I would want a video option from Phase One. I'm convinced that they will be offering this soon. What do you think?
Hey Nick. I would be surprised, with their dedication to ultimate still image quality, if Phase One went down the route of second-best video. You know where to find us if you want to test the XT/32mm setup.
Hi Guy, the 90mm SW can be both purchased as an X-Shutter option, and also retrofitted onto X-Shutter if you already own. Drop us a line sales@teamworkphoto.com and we can send pricing for whatever you need.
@@teamworkdigital5850 Great, thanks. Just realised you mentioned the 90 in the vid, sorry! Shame there’s not more than 12mm shift as the 90 can handle so much more :(
@@guyarchard422 ICYMI, the X-Shutter is available now for Cambo WRS/Actus systems, if you're looking for more movement than the XT's 12mm. Get in touch about cost if interested.
That background sound thought. I’m closing this video and it’s only 1/4 of the length, can’t watch this with this kind of sound. Bad taste in video post-production.
There are few cameras in this high price high features field. The only other maker of similar cameras that I know about is Hasselblad cameras. These are cameras only for professionals in special applications. For the common typical photography that I do, much more affordable cameras from Sony are more practical.
Amazing camera functions, looks smooth, and the IQ 4 has obviously advanced significantly. However the camera is butt ugly! Terrible design, it will date rapidly imo. The semicircular feature with that massive grip looks ridiculous frankly. Perhaps the ergonomic design is good I don't know but I'd rather use an ALPA. Despite that it obviously produces wonderful image files and has some excellent functionality built in. But I would be seen dead holding it ;).
Oh, it sounds like you've had a bad experience, Rene. Could you let me know if your local dealer couldn't help? I don't know if your concern is with the Digital back or an XF, XT, or XC camera system, but many "Pro Photographers" still own and shoot with the kit. It's all we do day in and day out.
Camera: $62,000
Microphone: $0.99
priorities...
This with a tilt-shift. A DREAM. I'll buy this very soon.
only shift not tilt
Brilliant camera system. Love it!
Thank you. Very informative. In my opinion, the video would have been much better without the music.
Maybe just lowering the music levels 10db so it’s more subtle
Damn. That camera is a dream so fine when is it going to be affordable to us plebs.
How does the Rodenstock in the phase one XT image quality compared to the Schneider in the reflex phase ones medium format cameras?
Hi Tizio. The main difference, and advantage, is the size of the image circle. The Rodenstock/XT lenses allow for significant shift movements.

cool video. My Sinar does 40 mm total shifting. This one does 24 mm. For architecture more is better.
the distorted background music is a real pain in the ass
Be nice, it's not that bad!

this should be illegal. now I hate my camera
For a pro photographer Phase One is totally unreliabe. Better rent a second one and be sure to bring your Fullframe as backup.
