    - HISTORY -
Kahr Arms was founded twenty-six years ago in 1995 by Justin Moon in New York. Unable to find a compact gun in a caliber that he was satisfied with, he decided to design and make his own.
“With the objective of excellence in workmanship and material, Kahr does not compromise either in the design or manufacture of handguns. The most advanced computer applications and precise manufacturing technologies have been implemented to provide the finest handgun available. Uniquely designed and finely tooled, Kahr pistols’ unrivaled quality makes long-term Kahr owners out of shooters who try them.” -Kahr Arms
Kahr takes great pride in the CAD (computer-aided design) and CAM (computer-aided modeling) that they use to design and model each pistol that they manufacture.
The Kahr P380, chambered in .380 Auto, comes in three main styles: all matte black, black frame with a stainless slide, and a custom engraved Black Rose edition. All three styles come standard with drift adjustable, white bar-dot combat sights but can also be purchased with drift adjustable tritium night sights. The P380 can also be purchased with a loaded chamber indicator.

Truth: This morning, I installed 7 & 8 round Mag Guts in my two P380 factory magazines keeping the factory base plates. One extra round in each. Easy. So 8+1 is not bad in the one. Thanks for reviewing the P380.

Karh pistols are fantastic if you can convince people you don't need a safety to carry a gun. I have two in different calibers. Fantastic shooters. You don't know until you know.

I agree. Glock doesn't have a safety beside the trigger... and no sticking their finger on it before they are ready to fire.

My ccw is my Kahr p380.
I live in California so I am required to have the stupid red chamber indicator to be Ca compliant.
With that said, I LOVE my Kahr.
I have had a few problems with jamming/chambering, only to land at the issue being the two after market 7 round magazines.
Now that I've put over 500 rounds through it, it cycles perfectly.
I run Hornady CD .380acp for my carry.
    I AVOID Winchester rounds.
    Its so small!
I can keep it behind my wallet in my back pocket (my wallet is thin).
I am more accurate with this than with my friends' larger guns.
    I highly recommend carrying one.

That is awesome feedback. For a semi-auto pistol in this size, it's an amazing option for a carry firearm during any time of the year and outfit. They do shoot well and group tightly.

Living in a very gun restrictive state with a list of approved handguns for purchase, I love my Kahr P380. I find that it has similar recoil to my gen1 S&W Shield in 9mm. I also highly recommend Magguts +1 magazine springs for both the 6 and 7 round magazines as they have been perfectly reliable for hundreds of rounds. My brother in law likes the pistol so much that when I said I would buy him a pistol for him to use to get his CCW, he said that he wants the PM9, which is the 9mm model and is just slightly larger. The heavy dual recoil spring really helps make the P380 less jumpy, but makes it more difficult to rack the slide for people with less strength. The only malfunctions I have had were during the break in period and once it did not lock back on empty with some very questionable ammo.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I love hearing about other peoples opinions or experiences on these pistols. I know that if people get behind these pistols, most of them actually do enjoy, and like the Kahr firearms. My wife an I both bought P380s to carry. Love the style and the size is unbeatable. However, after not shooting for several months, went to the range and they failed miserably. I have never in my life seen two guns fail so badly at the same time. Tried cleaning, different ammo. Got rid of them the next day and went with the Sig 365. I have a PM9 and never had an issue.

The part of a small pistol that tends to print first when carried either IWB or OWB from 3-4:30 is the REAR of the butt.
That's why so many of those pinky extensions are made for a lot of different pistols. There is a real use and market for it. I have carried a P380 with the 6 rd mag w/pinky extension, and the extra 7rd mag backup in summer w/very light clothing for just this reason. Best of luck on your channel! I subscribed.

I have the cousin of these kahrs, the naa guardian 380 (frames were made by kahr at one time). These 2 companies built semi autos that may require “break in”, I’ve found that breaking them down and polishing less vital contact areas (not sear but everything else). I’ve had them run flawlessly at the first mag now with this rework.
It doesn’t bother me because at their price they come as is. If these tighter tol pistols were fully polished they would be cost prohibitive for many, including myself.

@@GunsmithBeard For anyone on the fence about buying a P380 I just bought one on the 10th of this month. I took it to the range today. I shot fiocchi 95 grain Fmj and hornady critical defense both ran flawless not one fte ftf or ftb the extractor did look to be filed down and feeding ramp polished. I cycled the ammo in the gun manually at home and it didn’t jam so I had a good feeling it wouldn’t jam. Also when I tried to rack the slide to load it, it would jam up but if I used the slide stop after inserting magazine it worked perfect everytime. There was some surface rust inside the gun when I took it apart but it all wiped away. I bought it in California from turners. I’m very happy with my purchase. If it will shoot fiocchi it will shot anything. I noticed a lot of people that were complaining about them in comments were from years ago. I’m pretty sure if you buy a p380 in 2024 it will be de bugged

Had a stainless p380. Was finicky on ammo, yea but was still an awesome pocket only church gun in a Vedder Pocket Locker holster. Sold it and got a Glock 42! wtf was I thinking? The Glock is not a pocket gun. It can be but not really. It’s really not much smaller than my edc shield 2.0.
Im trading it in towards a new Kahr p380 in black with nite sites.
I dont mind the break in process. Kinda fun once it finds the ammo it likes.
I hand cycle it like 500 times fast. Takes like 10 minutes. Clean it, open it and leave it open in the safe for a few days.
I feel it’s the best pocket gun out there.
Kahr on Sunday mornings in church only, Shields for my IWB edc
    Edit
So I got my new p380 and started the break in process. After 50 rounds of various ammo brands it fired everything flawlessly. Only problem was with Hornady Critical Defense the first round wasn’t properly feeding with slide release. Once I got it to feed then they would cycle properly. Fmj all fired without a hiccup. It really liked Remington HTP hollow points! I’m really happy so far with this gun.

Few points I didn't make in your other video.
Price: This always stumps me when people say a firearm is too expensive, since you will spend far more on ammunition getting and maintaining skill with most firearms than you will spend on the actual firearm. It is like people are buying a cheap pistol, almost never firing it, and thinking they will be good in a high stress situation. If you don't practice drawing and firing your pistol then when you need it you will most likely flub the draw and not hit anything.
Upgrades: M-Carbo makes two good upgrades that are fairly cheap at $15 each, a Stainless Steel Striker Guide (replaces a plastic part for improved reliability) and a trigger spring kit (reduces trigger pull to ~4 lbs). While not generally needed, I didn't use ether for over a decade, they help with a few of the niggles some people have with a Kahr pistol. For those who want better performance out of their magazines, there is Magguts +1 Springs or Lakelines Metal Magazine Follower. Both make the magazines more reliable and perform better, with the Lakeline being best and the Magguts getting an extra round.
Holsters: The most important thing for a concealed carry pistol is the holster. You want a good one that fits your body comfortably and conceals the pistol. I have a dozen for my PM9, but have settled on using two CrossBreed holsters, an AIWB in horsehide and a Cargo Pocket Rocket. Normally use the Cargo Pocket Rocket since it slips into my back pocket, is super easy to use, and does not print.

My Kahr CM9 is one of favorite CCW’s. I do get trigger bite from the gallowglass performance trigger I installed, the factory trigger also was painful when I shoot multiple magazines through it at the range. However…..if I was in an actual defense situation I wouldn’t care about alittle finger discomfort. I like the 380, but prefer the cm9.
