    This song is so heart warming..brings to mind of the Irish nation and individuals who saw abject poverty ..and many struggles ..
    This was played at my aunties funeral today who’s mother came from enniskillen and had strong Irish connections ..the harmonies and the way their voices connect, is something that brings to mind the wonderful old Ireland and its inhabitants..this is no doubt the best version of the “ Red is the rose” ever ..Thank you 🌹🌹🌹

    Lovely and touching. This was after John's beloved mom, Hope, had passed away. He had asked the management of the Tenors for time off to deal with family matters and they refused so he had to bow out of this concert but due to a GREAT deal of protests from John's legion of fans, they invited him to sing two songs, this being one. Such a sweet version but watching John's face still brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting this. How did 6 think this wasn't good? Duh.

      Thumbs up, Mr Studio :) John owns whatever song he sings. The hardest part of this was seeing the pain etched into his face. When Ronan sings his part, look at John's face. He was struggling to hold himself together. His whole heart was in both songs that he sang that night.

    • @rapier1954
      @rapier1954 6 лет назад +1

      no they borrowed the tune

    • @rapier1954
      @rapier1954 6 лет назад

      They will give it back after the Ulster Scots give back the land they stole from the Irish and go back to Scotland where they came from.

    • @rapier1954
      @rapier1954 6 лет назад +1

      Well that being the case maybe they could move to America and join their inbred cousins in Appalachia.

    • @rapier1954
      @rapier1954 5 лет назад +2

      It might be of further interest to note that the author of the lyrics of the Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond is unknown but it would be safe to assume he was a Scot. But the origin of the tune is also unknown and it would not be so safe to conclude it was Scottish in origin given how old tunes have passed back and forth across the British Isles.

    As someone who has studied classical voice I don't like to hear John McDermott all that much. Why? He has a good voice but incorrectly sings in an annoying way through his nose in an apparent attempt to obtain resonance. He needs a better teacher and I'm not kidding. The other 2 singers are beautifully trained and sing with correct technique.. Clear and open.
