I love it when you tell stories that are not in the movies, that one was very interesting.
That was possibly the deepest delve into the Matrix philosophical reasoning and comparison I’ve yet to hear. So many things converging on such different ways to those who know something is wrong, like Neo did. That question that drives us, as Morpheus said. Why do they feel that their dreams are more real than real life, yet far from realizing that point. This one is above my intellect. I can only say as much as I have and I’m far from sure that even that is close to the truth. Damn deep diving fellas! Keep our minds occupied until “Matrix 4” is released. Or Matrix Resurrections, I think is correct? Thanks for your hard work!!!
Jimmy was the prodigal son. Just like in the bible he returned home, to his father. In true matrix fashion this alligns him with the wishes of the architect/"god". When he goes back to his faith he becomes a good battery and a good blue pill.

Have you noticed that Rage against the machine who wrote the ending songs for matrix 1 and 2 has a burning man in the Albumcover who was a Mönch from Asia who fought for people a burned himself like neo as a sign for revolution just like the third part is called ! Hahahaha just funny fact !

I can remember a comic with at least one guy moving through the fetus fields but it doesn't seem to be in the latest released book.
I just bought the 20th anniversary comic, apparently there is two story not available, but I can't remember the names It could be that story is one of the missing ones you remember, or there was a glitch in the matrix and you never read that comic at all

awesome story but no offense is this all not just fan fiction. I would love to write the further adventures of any of our beloved characters or backstories and explore the complexities of the human machine war and the larger perspective of the everchanging world or maybe the lack of a story with it all being a victim of VR who in their voluntary folly perished while still plugged in thereby superimposing their mindset in the computer code ala Tron and or william gibson's mythos sprawling into a multidimensional cavalcade of false memories and wild presumptions.

because the agents are programs that obey the machines, smith was turned into a virus.
the black goo represents total assimilation of mind, body & soul.
save for programs like the oracle & architect, every program or human assimilated by smith met their demise or became inert as smith took control.
smith in that moment became the "anti matrix" if you will.
