- So, the Random Eastchester Depot Shots series is making a return.
I know. It has been nearly six years since I last did one of these videos. Even though the Eastchester videos have been some of my most popular on my channel, I didn't have the motivation to do another one since the last upload in 2016. I have visited the depot a few times, but I didn't make any videos until now.
Now, this video showcases some of the retired buses of MTA New York City Bus & MTA Bus Company at the Eastchester Bus Depot in The Bronx, New York. The buses showcased are both retired buses and a little of the active buses of the depot itself.
Again, I'm sorry it took nearly six years to make a new installment of this series. I just hope you enjoy this comeback video and I hope to get a good response to make another one either using my archive photos or make another trip to the depot in the future. Thank you for your patience and enjoy.

Im seriously going to miss the og hybrids
I had Old Gens since I was 7 years old and now they are sitting in the scrapyard, I am really going to miss these
1. A lot of OGs, and even a few NGs are now in the scrapyard.
2. I thought all the 1999 RTSs would all be scrapped by now, but I see some that aren't just yet.
3. #4904 is still there!
At this point, I'm used to seeing NGs getting retired after months of monitoring the #1700 CNGs being retired.
Actually that command bus is 0090 not 4904
@@DannyLok2812 It is #4904.
bro the weirdest thing is thatt i saw 4135 yesterday
Some Orion VII's still in service awaiting for backlite replacement kit, due to accidents
I seen those buses at Zerega bus depot
I am going miss the old gens
Do you know if that New Flyer D60HF is still there?
Same here Rip the Ogs hybrids u will be missed.
And also my grandpa passed away back in 2020 before the covid 19 an everything
Wow, they still have Flipdot OGs I see
No. The oldest hybrids in the lot were the 6500s.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 Correction, #6490 was there too.
6490 is not one of the flipdot units. The last flipdot unit number was 6489.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 I'm aware, just saying that it still count as a "#6400 series " despite being of a slightly newer vintage.
Retirement buses how can I buy the MTA NYCT buses any commons?
No idea. From what I know, these buses never end up on auctions. That being said, some buses have been sold to private owners in the past.
Oh I see
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 Yeah, like #4901 most recently.
They could be sold, but no one has come to buy any.
I think all of the 6700s r gone now and soon will be the NG’s to make room for the 2010 nova lfsa
The 6700s have been retired since 2021, with the 6800s retiring last year on the transit side.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 I heard 6691 it’s still there at East Chester
I see they still have 2005 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids up there...
Yeah. I thought they would of been gone by now as I saw the same units on lot a year ago.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 Some have been scrapped though as there used to be more of the on the otherside of that billboard.
I dont think 8016 is at the yard anymore...
It was moved to Zerega
In the future it’s just more Xcelsiors….but electric
So we will have old Xcelsiors being replaced by new Xcelsiors. Same with the LFS's..
That’s boring
A sad sight to see, new young busses in the gulag already, and classic busses, part of our childhood gone. What happened to 1205 btw?
It caught fire in 2014. It has been sitting at the depot for more than seven years now.
Probably still sitting there to this day..
R they never gonna fix 1205 or is it done
The bus has been sitting there for nearly a decade now, so that should answer your question.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 I mean your right and this year and next year is the year that the 2009-2010 nova lfsa retire so it makes sense why they went to levae 1205
I SAW 3855
omg 6757 the bus that I caught back in 2021 and sadly I can’t even find the video anymore I wish RUclips had archived I uploaded on this channel but I deleted every video cus I was renovating this channel 4:41
Good grief, that's quite the rookie mistake there. You should always make sure you back up your video and photo files BEFORE going on a deleting spree. Its something I've learned early on and in film courses.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 yes at that time I didn’t really knew much and I thought they would get retired in 2023 I knew I shouldn’t have deleted or download the video.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 Although I do still have my Orion Vii Ogs 3558,3558 and 3625 on the Q33 and Q72 back in November 2021 it’s on Snorlax Channel.
Why the NGs? They’re only 14 years old.
You pretty much answered your own question there. Though if you want more, its because the buses have been getting expensive to maintain and are not reliable in terms of how long it lasts before breaking down. That and the TA got money from the government to replace them with new buses, so might as well do it now.
What happened to that xd40 and that nova LFS?
7647 was involved in a crash last June on the B49 and 8016 was damaged by the heavy rainstorm in early September.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 The C40LF are next to be scrap
Not all of them. And that will be a year or so away until the order has been awarded to either Nova or (most likely) New Flyer.
@@Kingsbridgeviewer382 You think the C40LFs will be done by 2025?
@@dodge1515 Don’t think so. The new CNG order the MTA is getting is only replacing about half of the current C40s.
