Agreed. So much could have been avoided. Hell, Trunks tells Goku he doesn't know where Gero's lab is, but Bulma already does?! TLDR: The Android Saga's cool, but damn there are a *lot* of plot holes.
Having a new character appear out of nowhere and one-shot the current main villain sounds like something so easy to make fun of, crazy how they made it work. Even though I think it took a bit of the impact out of Frieza's defeat on Namek.
i dont really think it took away any of the impact, cause after friezas defeat they were moving on to way stronger opponents, and that was more of a "gtf outta here lil bro, you old news af"
When done well it is an extremely effective way of introducing a new character. Akuma did the same in Super Street Fighter 2 and it worked perfectly there too
I think part of why this works is because he's not a new character but an older version of a character we already know it sets him up quite well and we get to see the fruit of Goku's training off world through a Trunks that has shown he's already quite a powerful and capable warrior by defeating the previously strongest villain in the series
Watched it as a kid and now im 33 and still get chills from watching his introduction. I remember when i first saw it i couldnt wait to get to school to talk about it with my friends.
I liked DB Multiverse comic showing the future timeline of the Z fighters fighting and Goku showing up. Even showing Goku killing Frieza and then King Cold in his 3rd form.
I understand. But remember, the way it started was completely different, Frieza had almost killed all the Z-fighters, they were completely demolished. Goku was pissed, and it was already stated that King Colds 4th form was close to semi-perfect cell, (however that may be). But I get it, Colds final form would’ve ended everybody lol.
Nothing will top the feeling of buying the dubbed tapes of dbz from, believe it or not, blockbuster of all places. Before they came out on Toonami and seeing dbz before everyone else. I literally had my parents taking me to blockbuster every month to get the new vhs tapes with my lawn mowing money 😂 oh man... The good ol' days.
wrong goku wasn´t gonna show up when future trunks shows up he wasn´t yet close enough to earth to use it or to sense anyone on earth and when he was close to earth he no longer sensed frieza and his father ki if goku was gonna show up when future trunks show up it would not make sense that he would not want to check and no goku didn´t kill frieza and king cold as easily as trunks and future king cold did transformed because its obvious that happened and you are wrong in thinking he can´t
I disagree with this one Smug! If Future Goku killed Frieza and Cold, then how did Future Bulma know where the pod would land AND why would Cell say he could've taken Trunks' cells when he killed them when recollecting how he was created?
The pod would still be on the same trajectory regardless if Goku was in it or not, and cell comes from a timeline where trunks interfered already, he says that trunks killed the androids in that timeline which made him jump too a different one.

That's cause with cell being in the past a year before future trunks arrived, cell had all the knowledge from gero's super computer, and remember in goku's time line cell was still being created, so in cell's future time line before trunks was born the tracking bot got both frieza and king colds cells. So by the time trunks appeared the computer already figured it had enough saiyan cells
I mean, realistically, it'd have to be beerus. He technically has whis who has the ability to revert a planet back before it was completely cooked if it ultimately by accident and freiza is positively _terrified_ of beerus.
Future Bulma and Gohan sucked at telling Trunks ANYTHING
I mean Frieza's arrival on Earth had no impact on their lives nor the android matter
Yeah true Ig😅 ☠️

Bulma didn’t know Gero I believe. Probably didn’t know he was alive.
I honestly wish that History of Trunks movie showed that.
the reason history of trunks didn´t show that is because it was a longer battle

Just as I predicted.

Because that ship still programmed to land at that point without anyone in it. I don't recalled that latter though.
The pod would still be on the same trajectory regardless if Goku was in it or not, and cell comes from a timeline where trunks interfered already, he says that trunks killed the androids in that timeline which made him jump too a different one.

The ship could have still been there after Future Goku killed them. We don't know if Future Goku destroyed the already landed ship.
