Anything with Steve from Boston just makes me smile. Watching him geek out and reminisce over the change in Ibanez was great. Love seeing you two together. Great balance of personalities and I hope if I ever get to me SFB I can give him a hug. He reminds me of that cool, musician uncle we all had.
6:40: it's not a Kiesel. The Ibanez RGD body shape was introduced in 2010. In 2015, Carvin Corporation split its business units, and Kiesel Guitars was founded. Sorrry that I point that out but it's a fact that the RGD body shape is 5 years older. Otherwise great video once again!
oh man I wanna play that Premium AZ that looks great! Also you walked by an "S" model (6:31-blue one) that looked just like what you were talking about the halfway between AZ and RG.
The AZ with the mother-of-toilet seat looks like my RT650 from the early 90s. The RT was a similar attempt by Ibanez back then to appeal to the more mainstream player. Japanese-made, it has a Viper neck, which is thicker than a Wizard. Maple Flame top (though it is a photo-flame), alder back, and full binding. H-S-H with pull split, though the five way switch automatically splits the coils depending on the position. It had a standard term with locking tuners. That’s the guitar that became the Andy Timmons model. It’s been a rock-solid guitar for me for 25 years. There’s something a little sterile about it, but it has been predictable.
Damn, you passed by some GAX30 (50's)? Or, atleast they looked like it. That was the first guitar I bought myself. Bought it for 250 Gulden (that was before we had Euro's) and basically played it through my teens, and most of my twenties. Did some serious service that guitar. P.S. I loved that shirt from the intro!
I agree that the AZs are like de-souped superstrats. It seems that they've taken their own guitars and taken the edge off them, rather than trying to emulate anyone else's designs.
Steve, come on chowda. "It's a small design change?" I can't figure out why you seem defensive when others compare this new series to a entry level Suhr Modern Satin. Clearly, Ibanez was chasing the boutique customer with this AZ, especially with these two signature models coming in at $2300. It's comical how you are trying to shill it as a softened RG. You might as well had said "Other than the fatter neck, the roasted fingerboard, it's headstock, it's body carve, it's non locking tremolo, it's moderate output pickups, it's lack of pickguard and it's direct mount humbuckers, why it's a 550!"
People saying these guitars are a copy are just stupid as shit. I mean everything is somewhat similar to another shape. If you do something completely new you probably end up like Strandberg ugly as fuck. In the end they all come from something that already exists let it be strat, tele, lp, sg, v and whatnot.
This intros have made me a hater, a dislike champion, that still comments and interacts. So take it algorithm. And Jennings I’m jealous of your life so there it is

Ibanez, Henning and SFB. What more could you want?
These guys blow my mind away about how knowledgeable they really are these guys know everything about guitars

The RG still is and stays my favorite :)
My two favourite RUclips guys! Great stuff.
They are, absolutely, going for the Suhr market with the new guitars.
"I want my money back."
Could you please make a video on the ar720? There are none on RUclips. Who launches a guitar with a video?
Who needs Ibanez AZ when you can get Harley Benton Fusion-HSH EB Pro Series EM (damn, that's a long name)?
Gotta love that disclaimer's shirt!

A friend of mine bought a Tequila Sunrise (yellow to red fade) AZ and now I'm well jealous..!
really wanted to see the new chromeboy
I like how this guy ignores you. Thx for the disclaimer.
Loving the yellow jem jr
I always go for a curved bottom over a flat one.

Good banter.

RGD was out BEFORE the Kiesel.
John was criticised for copying Ibanez when he brought out the Modern.
Wow! The Aztecs look like guitars I want to play, but those Japanese Genesis look so damn sexy!!!
Love Steve from Braintree.

Am I hallucinating, or did this guy used to have a RUclips channel under a completely different name?
Yes Steve is Pix... , he just renamed his channel because youtube didn't like the old name with all those X's. ...and his wife didn't like it to.
Pixies from Boston?
was pixxy lixxx , now Steve from boston!! \m/
0:55 and I'm cracking up!
Steve should dress like Peter Griffin next namm

I then proceeded to watch the whole video and enjoy it.
