I have the feeling it's supposed to represent the fallen angel, with the heavenly feelings representing where he was, and the dark and creepy is where he goes to.
Tchaikovsky is the greatest of them all because of his astounding versatility. He excelled at symphonies. concertos, chamber, choral, opera, stand alone master works such as Capriccio Italien, one of the first great song writers (None But The Lonely Heart) and of course, his magnificent ballet music.
Every time I listen to this, I imagine my sister dancing in heaven. This song reminds me her. She passed away at the age of 5 days borned. I Don't remember her but this song can bring me her face and happiness in heaven. And tears to my eyes too.
I don't know how a piece can be romantically hypnotic, yet heartbreakingly tragic. Masterpiece by Tchaikovsky, and excellent execution by the conductor. Bravo
Me too, I had played it for 7 years and was getting quite good. Then I decided to drop it since I was being bullied at school for playing the violin. Now at 20 years old and having not played for 8 years I fear that I may never regain the ability to play completely.
I used to play the tenor sax for a while and now I play the clarinet but I’m thinking of picking up the oboe for the past year now because I think it’s a really beautiful instrument. The guy with the oboe was awesome
Wolgang Sawallisch is my favorite conductor, his gentle style is so peaceful to watch. He does seen to bring out the very best from the orchestra. Thank you for this wonderful download
Absolutely one of the most beautiful pieces of music that I have had the pleasure of hearing many times. It speaks to me in a very deeply personal manner.
The Israseli Philharmonic orchestra,is just magnificent, they along with other orchestra's.,like the NY symphony are also great and the Metropolitan orchestra, this is the most beautiful music.I grew up on this great music.i always thank God for this music.!
They will say: It is not. But for me this is the masterful interpretation of this musical work of great master Tchaikovsky. I enjoyed it again and again. Thank you so much !
That sweet oboe... I first heard this piece in the movie "Counterpoint" with Charlton Heston and became enamored of it many years ago. Every time I hear it, I expect to hear Chuck's line before the crescendo: "here's your cue, Calloway!"
I love music, rock, country, punk, rap folk, blues, heavy metal the lot.. but this.. Orchestra is true music, music in its most beautiful, pure and natural form.
I know I am going way out of the blue with this. Did you know: This song was used in Final Fantasy II retitled "Princess's Seduction". This plays during the scene with the fake Princess Hilda on the bed enticing Firion, comrade to the Kingdom of Fynn, so she can finish him off.
I chose this from the built-in ring tone list to be the alert tone for my landline Panasonic cordless phone, and had no idea what it was from. If it hadn’t been for the Handmaid’s Tale and June’s music box; which gave me a reference point to Google it, I’d still be thinking it was just a generic ring tone song 😆
Tchaikovsky belongs to the most gifted composer of the world. When Russia is attacked by uncultured and mediocre people i never fail to remember these ignorants that Russia is the country of Alexander Blok, Mandelstam, Puchkin, Lermontov, Rachmaninov and the unforgettable Tchaikovsky !
Are those high notes really A B Db? I've been playing A B C but listening to this again I can hear it going a half step higher not to mention I can see his fingers. I usually play sharp and I would force it even sharper on the C so that's probably why it sounded right. I need to work on tuning lol
@@jonathans.9372 I just listen to it and try to play what I hear. It's just fun for me to do it that way rather than looking up the sheet music. It's such a good feeling when I play the right notes and I can clearly hear that it is the right notes. Especially on a solo as beautiful as this one.
"Of all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947. More commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It’s the world’s most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple 9 pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn’t break, jam, or overheat. It’ll shoot whether it’s covered in mud or filled with sand. It’s so easy, even a child can use it; and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people’s greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars."
Is there such a thing as heaven will we ever know I don't pretend to have the answer but, this music indeed give sm e an idea and I think it does exist
Tchaikovsky was touched by the heavens when he came up with this piece.

Hands down. This is best song ever written. Nothing I’ve ever heard comes close to the simplistic beauty of this masterpiece. 3 minutes is not enough.

Such a beautiful melody 😍 The oboe lead was amazing and everything harmonized so perfectly. Love it!
I wonder if Tchaikovsky arranged and orchestrated the melody by himself.
I played this song on the piano before! It’s sooo beautiful!
I wish I was one of those violinists there... Miss playing violin a lot
