I honestly don't know how you're not at a million subscribers. You've got really good information and you have a really good way of teaching. Thank you for sacrificing your time to make these videos.
Love your videos! I‘m from Germany and own a YJ 4.0 5 speed manual. Very rare car in Germany, not many good mechanics around. Your videos help me maintain my YJ. Very helpful, thank you
Great video, as always! Really appreciate this high-level overview; it really puts the details in perspective. This one was particularly helpful for me. I've got a '91 YJ Islander that I bought new with 3 miles on the ticker. I've also got an '88 that I bought a few years back for my kids (both are 6-cylinder manuals). The '88 had that POS BBD carb on it that would make the car stall every time I stopped. I looked at tuning it but learned it was lipstick on a pig. Instead, I put a Sniper BBD EFI system on it that made all the difference. I pulled about 10 lbs of vacuum lines and exhaust controls off the Jeep because they were no longer needed. I followed up with Sniper's electronic distributor and Hyperspark coil. These changes made all the difference! Your video helped me put everything I'd learned on the EFI install into context for my '91 YJ and its TBI system. Thanks! I do have one question. My Sniper EFI has a bad MAT sensor. It doesn't seem to be used for much in the fuel tables, and it's not giving me any other issues. Do you think that'll be OK in the long run? Keep the great content coming. Your videos have helped more than you'll ever know.
Good stuff. As it happens I just spent my Saturday changing out my oil pressure switch on my 2.5 YJ. I was convinced it was the oil pan gasket that was leaking so I did that last weekend. But it kept leaking in the same general area. Well got out of work Friday and had no oil pressure, check oil and dip stick was dry. It just so happen I had a quart with me so I ran the engine and in the sunlight I finally saw the oil pressure switch just spewing oil. Got the part Saturday and no leaks. Love working on my YJ. stuffs a lot simpler.
Great video!! I like the fact you pointed out which sensors to have in your jeep toolbox for when you break down. Do you have a good estimate of when you will have the cam shaft position sensor video uploaded???
I have a problem please help. When i am at freeway high speed then i stop accelerating jeep.wrangler yj 1994 2.5 starts running wird like air boom! Then it stops at road!
I have a problem with my jeep yj 93 when is in ralentí the jeep try to die and star to smells like oil but i allready change tps, iac, iat,the map sens, coolant sens, and nothin do the same thing( try to die on idle) one thing i notice if i disconnect the distributor nothing happens is the distributor or the camshaft sensor bad?( The cap and the rotor are new) any help please tankyou keep the good content 👍👍
Hey Mr Poweraddict, my YJ has a lil 4 cylinder. The engine seems to have poor vacuum. Will run with a lot of small blasts of ether. The fuel filter is relatively new. The brake vacuum booster is brand new. Suggestions please, or anybody else.
Number one just want to let you know that you have an awesome channel number two I have a 91 YJ 4.0 5 speed I pretty much changed every sensor 182,000 MI and it can't get out of its own way on the highway in 5th gear any suggestions
Hey question I have a 1994 Jeep yj that didn’t have power steering now that I’m adding power steering and I’m seeing that there is a sensor in some of the videos now where or how or is it necessary to have a sensor for the power steering
I have a 1994 jeep yj my speed meter and rpm are not working at all, I went under and I noticed a cable is missing from the Transmission speed sensor, can you do a video on where the cable connects to for the rpm and speed meter to work?
I just put that on my to-do list. Make sure you have subscribed so you don't miss it. Thanks for checking out the video! Also, thanks for a great video idea as well.
Oh my 94 YJ with a 2.5 I had to buy a adapter thing that goes into the radio hose. So I could run a temp gauge. My engine is from a XJ of unknown year and it doesn’t have the sensor in the same spot. They literally used both XJ and YJ parts when they swapped the engine so it’s a miss match of parts. The previous owner had the engine installed by a shop
Thank you very much your videos are super helpful love the YJ videos. And yes in fact it is the drain plug thanks for your help. Keep making those great videos rock and roll🤘
Can the oil pressure sensor cause a crank no start on the 2.5 4 cylander as I drove it home a buddy saw I was spraying oil and followed me home told me and a found that sensor was shot put a new 1 in and now it doesn't run
Can you do a video on how to adjust your throttle positioning sensor I hear you just have to move it a little bit If you are running rich Which I am I smell gas Can't get an exact number of what it is supposed to be Set at Text JB
Sound to me like you have a bad O2 sensor. Possibly a temp sensor reading too cold keeping it in "warm up". Also I've seen people run too cold of a thermostat which causes the engine to run rich. You need a 195 degree t-stat to run properly. Leaky exhaust or a bad catalytic convertor will put off smells as well. As for adjusting a TPS, your not going to adjust a factory one. There might be an aftermarket that I don't know of.

Thank you - this is very useful information! I wish to find something similar for my TJ.
I'll get my dads TJ sometime and make a video like this using his rig.
I second this request. Thanks.

I will have to view this particular video several times over.
Will check for proper ground. Replaced the ECM already.

Great videos. Do you have any on break issues. Looked but did not see any. Just incase I missed it
Not on YJs. TJs and later XJs had them and of course all the newer Jeeps after them.
Thank you!!! 1998 TJ Owner!
You are welcome. Hope the video helped!

@@PoweraddictsI am already a subscriber since you bought the jeep and install a rear differential from the junkyard, I believe it was from a Ford

Go to a junk yard and get some from a Jeep Cherokee XJ or ZJ
How do you cross over the ecm
I'm not sure what you are referring to "cross over".

Where is idle control air sensor?
Go to 4:01 in the video. It's right next to tps sensor.
