Contestants from reality shows say they change the context of responses or comments, a comment meant for a particular person gets slipped in somewhere else to cause drama. There's no way they would have laughed at him as he was walking out
I've known Dean for a very long time and in all honesty, this bloke was already a true blue Aussie legend well before stepping on this stage! Dean is a seriously authentic man in every way, he's kind, down to earth and as humble as they come!

Out of all the acts i've seen audition this year Dean is the one i can see becoming a recording success no matter how well he does on the show. Charisma, a mysterious charm about him and a damn good musician. I love what he did with this song.
Dean is dead on perfect and a man of mystery. For this performance, the thing about it is also his musicianship. Ppl always focus on vocals, but his guitar playing skill is off the charts.
I love the look of astonishment on his face at the reaction when he is finished playing and seems to be confused over being so well liked thru the entire clip... he's pretty amazing.
His surprised kinda shy smile at the comments afterwards and the people's reactions and his attentive look to hear what the judges were saying, for me was the cherry on top, like the guy didn't really know the talent he has! Played this for my 7 year old daughter a few weeks ago. The other night she said, "Song, get out of my head!" Asked her what song and she said "Her hands are solid gold." Took me a minute to figure out this was what she was referring to. 🤠 Then I let her watch this video again, she was smiling so big.

This is in my opinion a star in the making. Someone who has defied the odds and remains humble enough to do what God has given as a gift for music as if he were destined all along. I love his charisma his charm and his style...the choice of song perfect for a first audition! I would love to collaborate with him someday he's got betty davis eyes well done dean well done.
If Australia still believes in talent and in real artists this guy definitely will win. But the disease call "Pop Stars" are so contagious and highly infectious so... I feel the worse... I wish Australia make him win...

I feel like he did himself a disservice by going on one of these shows. This performance has stayed with me since it happened, and I'm kind of sad that this is really all I've heard from him. Such raw talent needs to be shared. As a busker, my whole life has been about bringing something extra to songs to make people stop... this is it. This performance is just amazing.

Reality: these audition formatted shows are great for producers because it draws millions of eyes and generates loads of money, however, as much as the artists are lauded for their performance, they seldom reach any real level of future success because they're essentially performing glorified karaoke. We need a show that showcases OG Talent whereby artists would sing their own songs which in turn would increase their chances of going viral and improve future success. I propose a show called OGT
i wish i could meet ya. My story is similar to yours I left my house at 15, although it was a mutual decision, my step dad hated me and my mum wanted me out as soon as i could work etc. been on my own since. I know nobody will ever know how hard its been unless you experience it on your own at such a young age....good luck you Dean :)

They were standing in respect as he walked out.
