I don’t know who will see this because this episode has been out for a while, but what a great message. As a woman who is three years into recovery from the toxic mindset of constantly trying to lose weight, thank you for sharing this. Please continue to make more episodes like this!
This confirms so much for me that I’m on track. I started the RBG Bundle and I’m on Anabolic Phase 2. I decided after these 9 months of this bundle I’m going to do MAPS powerlifting. My goal at age 52 is to get as strong as I can.
I'm a 50 year old female and in 20 years of studying fitness and nutrition your expertise and quality of delivery has drowned out all the other unnecessary noise and has convinced me to just focus on getting stronger. You guys are the best!
This video came at a perfect time for me. I’ve been struggling with the decision of whether to try and build or not. After losing 100+ pounds it’s not an easy decision for me to make. I’m in the middle of a 5x5 program and been struggling with adding weight to the bar. I know I’m not eating enough but after hearing this video while I was working out this morning I realized I need to put the scale away and focus on building for a bit. I’ve been fat my entire life till now. Hard to overcome the phobia of putting weight on. Thank you for this video, almost like a sign from above to guide me in the direction I need to go. Keep up the good work. The inspiration you guys provide me on a daily basis keeps me moving in the right direction.
@@MindPumpShow I just got email about anabolic being on sale? Any chance you would know how long this sale will last? It’s anabolic and 6 pack ab bundle. Just say limited time and I’m trying to figure out how long I have to try and get it.

Well to whomever is against the gaining muscle and arguing it doesn’t matter .. I’ll love to watch you being 50year old female helping your son move out and carrying boxes from a second floor to the car then from the car to another 2nd floor for 9hrs without collapsing … 💪🏼 this Momma did it and all thanks to years of strength training 😊 By the way … LOVE THE DISCOUNT CODE ❤❤
Thank you guys for your encouragement. In college I was an all-American hammer thrower. I was strong and put on muscle easily. It was so common to hear guys make comments about my body that were negative. They said I was too bulky. I’m 46 now and back at lifting. As women we have to embrace strength and power. I feel better than ever! You guys are great!
Powerlifting will forever be my first fitness love. I grew up in 24 hr fitness (mom managed the north Idaho club) and my dad started my sister and I off in powerlifting. I could n9t be more grateful for the start they gave us, as it's given us a focus on strength rather than appearance. Parents....TEACH YOUR KIDS TO LIFT HEAVY!
Wow the timing of this couldn’t be better! Went to my first powerlifting meet yesterday just to check it out cause I have been interested in competing. I was so incredibly inspiring, the youngest girl competing was 12 and the oldest women was 80 and there all different types of people coming together to cheer each other on, I absolutely loved it! You guys have solidified it for me, going to enter for either February or May 2024, and feeling pumped for the months of training to come! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Been running your programs for 2 years now, reducing my training to 3 days/week has completely changed my life, looking and feeling the way that I want to look and feel has never been easier. Thank you all so much! Maps performance is a revelation. Have not yet tried powerlift but it is next on my list, thanks again guys, keep up the great work, this message is so important!
This is exactly how I feel. I didn't know just how much I would enjoy being strong. I'm no longer concerned with a number on the scale, I'm concerned with adding weight to the bar. I've not developed the skill, yet, to squat heavy outside of the Smith machine, but I'm currently squatting 100 lbs more than my body weight(I weigh 150 lbs right now) using the Smith machine. It's so cool to be a muscle mommy. 💪🏻
Over the weekend I started wondering if the ‘changes’ are happening after 10 weeks on Anabolic… I feel MUCH BETTER now after listening! I have heard it before, but needed this today!! Adam is always in my head saying ‘trust the process’… Thank you guys… gotta go and get 💪 stronger!
Thank you all for such amazing content! My four year old son is non-verbal and autistic. He is very heavy now so I started my strength journey in January 2023 and found you guys this past Spring. I am on Phase III of Anabolic and loving it!! Feeling so strong and healthy! Thank you!!
Great information for female fitness clients. Most of my clients are female and i do encourage them to progressively increase the poundages in relation to their caloric intake, and progression.
Great episode! You have inspired me...again! I am going to do this! Thank you for the focus on women again, very much appreciated! I was a bit intimidated by the way the show looks, and is marketed, but this content is definitely so relevant to everyone. You guys are all great. Thank you!
Just bought three MAPS programs, the bundle with anabolic, performance, and aesthetic, but power-lift might be the next one I get once I get through those 3. That or the advanced anabolic or old time strength. So many to choose from!
I recently started listening to Mind pump-I’m hooked! I have literally “laughed out loud” listening to your podcast and that’s a little embarrassing when I’m shopping🤣…usually at Costco. I’m a female in my upper 50’s and it’s harder to stay “in shape” then it use to be and I think the reason I can’t stay motivated is because I just can’t seem to get results! What use to work for me-just doesn’t work anymore. After listening to some of your podcasts I think I know why…I have known I have Osteopenia for a few years and I just don’t know where to start🤔. I think power lifting will help with many of my age related issues. Maybe if I start making some progress my husband will be more interested in lifting as well. We eat a mostly whole food diet, have learned about insulin resistance and intermittent fasting (in which I think I may have over done it and slowed down my metabolism-lost muscle mass), we are also pretty active all day. Hoping this new venture will make the difference. Thank you for sharing such great info and even simply sharing your experiences and your personal lives-love it!
best video guys! powerlifting and your programs have been phenomenal for me this past year. the strength and physique gains are incredible. thanks for all the content 👏 "strong women deadlift" ❤
Crazy you guys posted this now. I have been working on powerlifting for a couple months now. I started strong but have hit a major plateau so I came here looking for advice. The timing could not have been more perfect.
35:20 for me (female trainer myself) my female clients, it was always they could lift and carry their dog food or cat litter. One woman, it was that she was just carrying 5 big deck chairs overhead without breaking a sweat and w a smile on her face, out of Home Depot w/out help and put them in her high SUV.
I just recetly found your channel and have been binging your videos every night! I love how you guys talk specifically about female strength instead of just weight loss, which is hard to find on youtube.
I’m excited to incorporate a powerlifting phase into my program. This should be a great way to track my muscle gain progress during my bulk. Awesome video guys.
Explained perfectly, the challenge my wife has is she doesn't want to look like a world champion power lifter or body builder and this episode makes it clearer that she won't look like theses elite athletes. Strength and fixing her metabolism is the key to looking and feeling good. Thanks guys
Thanks to you guys, I have started focusing on the main lifts (squats, deadlifts, bench press, barbell rows, military press and pull ups) doing a 5x5 and working hard on great form and increasing strength. Not to mention upping my protein to at least 130g per day. What a difference already in how I feel and perform. THANK YOU!
This is exactly the reassurance I needed .. I GOT TO SAY THANK YOU! … I am currently in a surplus trying to build muscle and the mirror and scale are giving me a mind fvdge 😢… but I am enjoying the numbers on my lifts going up and at beginning of my surplus I was eating few things I wasn’t supposed to but cleaning up that part and swapping it with Whole Foods to aim for same calories overall
Loved this conversation. I have always been fascinated with powerlifting, but never actually done a powerlifting program. need to add MAPS Powerlift to the shopping cart
I’ve been following your content for couple of months and u guys convinced me to get strong and focus on building muscle. I really look forward to get the MAPS Powerlift and will send u before after pictures in 6months time 🎉😂😂😂
I like your podcast, I usually watch it with breakfast. I am trying to gain strength and I must say it’s working out pretty good. Today I hit a 100 kg squat for 5 reps, my bench went up to 60 kg for 5 reps. My deadlift is currently at a 100 kg for 7 reps. I am around 5”7 snd weigh around 78 kg. One of my goals is to do a beginner powerlifting match next year. I need to lose some weight but for now I want to see how much stronger I can get first. Thank you for the beneficial information , it aligns perfect with my goal.
I have been chasing strength doin those exercises and yes I am a woman. Nice to hear a video that's not pushing me to cut. RUclips is laden with videos on eating less. I am eating in a surplus yet it's healthy food. C
Just found your podcast a few months ago and have been binge watching past episodes. I have to say thank you for the information that I only wish I'd had 30 years ago. I'm determined that this is going to be my year and I'm using your advice to get there!
Powerlift was definitely not the first program i wanted to try but mind pump definitely convinced me on it. Would be awesome to see how strong i can get at the 3 big lifts. ❤
Yes! I have wanted a goal of just getting stronger. Powerlifting has always been intimidating for me to try and have never known where to start. You break everything down to make it so much less intimidating.
I had a conversation with a new photographer friend yesterday at a gig I was playing... he was raving about powerlifting. Fun conversation... To each their own.... I may try it in the future some day.
Am a big fan of MP, been weight lifting for three years now and i can assure you thats its one of the best things that has happened to me. I am strong and i feel so guud abt myself😉
Only recently I went higher with calories, increased salt intake and fixed my sleep listening to you guys. I’m not necessarily chasing higher lifts but I’m getting there nonetheless now, love the advice guys!
Definitely been trying to see if Barbell lifting can increase my strength after doing programming with dumbbells for the last 3 years. On my mind so this hit at a Perfect time!
I love the lower rep range and pushing strength. Powerlift is the next program on my list once I finish Strong. Love all your programming & information. I have talked you all up so much that you have even converted my ex-trainer from cardio boot camp to strength training.
i loved this so much, i’m sending this link to my wife i’ve been trying to convince her of this for the last couple years. she’s been on KETO long term (14 months) and isn’t an exercise person and has lost some weight bur feels awful! everything you guys preach explains why me weight training 4 days a week can stay very lean even having cheat days a lot more frequently than her
❤❤❤Yup I feel off for a couple months but finally back at it. I just remember in my head pick a weight where you have trouble doing 6 and start from there. At 4"11 with r kids I decided it was my time to get healthy. I love lifting for strength especially because I am so small. You guys are amazing. I can't wait to send me before and afters ❤🎉🎉🎉
❤ I AM READY!!! 🏋️♀️💪 AS I AM MOTIVATED AND INSPIRED… I feel with your combined guidance I can get my strength back after hip replacement and C5/C6 spinal fusion!! Finding your channel was truly a God send!! I have been watching for a week now… I trust you guys!! Not sure what’s the best Maps to start with first? Please advise.. GRAZIE! Ciao bello!!
Ok. I want to listen to Mind Pump but I ALSO want music while I work out. I PROPOSE A MIND PUMP MIXTAPE. Sweet beats, then on the down beat we get Justin, “send the signal”, then next down beat, “do it to get strong! The aesthetic will follow!” from Adam. Then when I’m feeling tired “the DATA shows…IF YOU QUIT you’ll hate your own guts Heather”. boom.
Bless ya boy with powerlift?🙏🏼 I been trying for hypertrohpy consistently for about the past 2 years and a half years I’m 19 years old and I’ve just hit 190 lbs at 6ft. I really relate to your guys story being extremely skinny as a kid. My goal is to hit 200lbs but lean. Been incorporating deadlifts thanks to you guys for the past couple months! I’ll do 295lbs for reps the other day on my push day I decided to go heavy on bench because I never train that way I can do 205lbs for reps. I have not powerlifted for squats tho I’ve taken a break from barbell squats and switched to hack but when I did barbell squat I did 3x10 225lbs. Really appreciate you guys I’m also studying to be a personal trainer through NASM cause if you guys as well as doing college. I always try and point to you guys when people ask me questions cause I know you guys have the best answers. Love the podcast!!!🫡💪🏼
My constant inner dialogue lately: Should I change or do xyz? (Sal’s voice) “Are you getting stronger?” Is that change I made doing working (Sal’s voice) “Are you getting stronger?”
Honestly, there is no other better of feeling empowered than getting stronger in the gym. When the numbers go up that feeling of accomplishment is freaking awesome.
What would be a good way to incorporate carries into my workout? Currently running maps powerlift and would love to start getting really good with heavy carries, should I swap something out or wait until I’m in a less volume heavy program? Thanks guys love the podcast been listening for years!
I love the "surprise strength" moment. I picked up a 50 pound bag of chicken feed the other day with one hand, threw it in my trunk, turned and walked away before I realized what I did.
At 174lb, after 5 months of dedicated powerlifting training, I’ve not only put on 115lb to my squat max, but I am LEANER at 174 now, than when I started at 169lb. And I’m not even cutting for my first meet and people still tell me I look like I look leaner lol. I second the fact that it really prioritizes being healthy-you can manipulate macros and cals to lose weight week after week without actually focusing on overall health and recovery and fatigue management, and getting better at that latter one, has been huge w both powerlifting/strength max increasing AND looking better/leaner/thiccer haha. Gamechanger.
That's so true! If you workout for strength you are un the right way, I take measurements of my reps and weight every single session and I compare then how are their going, also how us the technique how is feeling in every single session. Every has been going up!
I have the utmost respect for powerlifting and people that pour their hearts into the pursuit of strength. I also respect the fact that your team encourages physical and mental health to your listeners. But I have some points regarding the show that I would like to clarify as a natural bodybuilder. 1. Bodybuilding is not training with "isolation-only, fluff and pump" stuff. If you do your leg extensions hard enough, you would also engage your core and your grip, and maybe your traps. It is just easier to recover from due to axial loading and absolute load. A lot of our lifts are in the 6 to 12 range, which promotes the same benefits like strength training. 2. Albeit the big three is a good exercise and are iconic, they are not the best for muscle building. We love the big three use variations of the major compounds that are most conducive to muscle growth, as a result strength goes up as a byproduct. We might deadlift less, but we can stiff-leg in the 400s. We might bench less, but we close grip bench or dip in the 300s for reps. 3. Bodybuilding is objective. We track our scale, physiques and performance in the gym over training blocks. Then we adjust our program accordingly. As a powerlifter, you should know that there are many methods to increase your strength without gaining muscle. This masks progress for muscle building and after a cut you might find out that not much has changed. 4. 80% of the time we are gaining mass, slow and steadily. We might diet down here and there for a show but that's just a peaking phase for us that lasts no more than a few weeks. In fact any knowledgable BB coach would put an average beginner on a 2~4 year bulk. The goal is to build and maintain quality mass while being healthy. 5. Bodybuilding is healthy if you do it right, especially if we take longevity into account. You can bodybuild with great health into your 80s because you don't have weakness in any muscle parts. We also tend to have better cardiovascular health because of higher work capacities. It is a pity that the bodybuilding information is flooded with misinformation and fluff workouts, and don't really blame you for your stereotypical views on bodybuilding. If you dive deeper you may find there's a lot more in common between our training than what you think. We are all brothers and sisters bound in iron, be proud in your pursuit but I ask you politely to stay in your lane.
guys I've been walking 15k - 20k steps every day since the beginning of the month to increase my calorie burn, at the same time started eating ONLY whole foods for the first time in my life. Also lifting heavier weights and loving it. But I'm scared that walking so much will hinder or worsen my gains. Can you overtrain by walking? please help
I've been doing the Maps 15 for a couple months now and have gained weight even though I actually need to lose alot of weight but you say to keep lifting so I guess that's what I'll do, would love to have the powerlift or Anabolic program and do that next since I'm nearly finished with Maps 15
I’ve really wanted to try strength training cause I personally want to be stronger any pointers would be greatly appreciated on how to get it going. Thanks to you all for the advice you give in your videos it’s helped me in ways I’d never imagined possible. You guys explain everything so simplistic and helped me get back in shape and put muscle back on. Now I wanna try this powerlifting style training.
After YEARS of crazy cardio and dieting- I started weightlifting and got my dream body in 3 months. It feels so silly now, how obvious it is. My friends get annoyed now because I’m constantly preaching weight lifting when they talk about losing weight.
Hey guy, I have MAPS Anabolic but I am not a fan of doing all the different exercises. My workouts end up taking well over an hour and I’d like to be done within an hour. I did the starting strength routine when I first started out years ago and I loved focusing on the main compound lifts. Now I’ve let my diet get out of control and I went from 210 to 290 over the last 8 years. I want to get back down to 200 but I want to enjoy my workouts again. I never thought you could lose weight doing powerlifting routine. Would you guys suggest that route for weight loss?
What advice would you have for someone who literally doesn’t have time for gym workouts? I have dumbbells and can go for 30 min walks twice a day. Full time dad during the day and work in the evening. With caring for the kids and then doing homework ect..: and then going straight to work after how can I increase calories if im not able to go to the gym and work out the way I should be? How can someone in my shoes still take advantage of a good workout at home and be able to raise my calories? Or what workouts would you recommend at home to maximize the workout to be able to increase calories?
keep up the good work guys, I originally started watching you guys seeing Sal on Tom Bilyeu's show and heard so many things that resonated with me with my own fitness and life struggles and keep listening to yall because it's always great to hear that constant conversation of having that individual balance of sustaining this journey long term also, thinking about doing powerlifting training in my next cycle of training, never tried it and excited to see what kind of results and lessons I get from it! =D
I love when I'm in the heavy phases of the programs. I love lifting heavy and wish I could stay in the phases longer, but by week 4 my joints do start to talk to me, especially since I'm 43.
I currently do all the compund lifts and want to get stronger. I progressively overload but it takes me two-three weeks to go up on my weight and I have never followed a designated program. I found you all a few weeks ago and want to choose the right option. This powerlifting prigram sounds right up my alley but anabolic seems to be marketed as the "starter" program, if these are kinds of lifts I like to do which is better for me to go with? Can I jump into this powerlifting program and then move on to anabolic?
Is MAPS powerlift even recommended for beginners? I would feel like something that focuses on form would be more helpful before tacking on the extra weight. Noob question so sorry about that
I related to the empowerment of being stronger! I literally so anxious to be able to squat my bodyweight (140) but I still have 25 lbs to get there .. but I’m gonna feel like freaking Wonder Woman when I finally FINALLY can do that .. I’m an old lady with not much muscle - so it’s gonna take some time and work but I’m excited to get there!
I'm considering entering a powerlifting competition! I'm sure I'll finish dead last but I'm not foolin' anyone, I'm no gold medalist, so I just want to try my best.
You’ve guys convinced me to increase my calories… you guys are helping so many women so they don’t suffer the way we did. I’m truly thankful!
I love your name!! :)

Keep going 💪
I have been chasing strength doin those exercises and yes I am a woman. Nice to hear a video that's not pushing me to cut. RUclips is laden with videos on eating less. I am eating in a surplus yet it's healthy food. C
I am so glad that i found you guys, and stopped only trying to lose weight and instead trying to gain strenght! I feel much more capable and powerful!
Stoked to get Powerlift!!! I'm running Anabolic right now, then Symmetry next and then Powerlift.
Just found your podcast a few months ago and have been binge watching past episodes. I have to say thank you for the information that I only wish I'd had 30 years ago. I'm determined that this is going to be my year and I'm using your advice to get there!
Been binging all of the podcasts and loving them. Keep up the great work guys!
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent educational video
Only recently I went higher with calories, increased salt intake and fixed my sleep listening to you guys. I’m not necessarily chasing higher lifts but I’m getting there nonetheless now, love the advice guys!
Definitely been trying to see if Barbell lifting can increase my strength after doing programming with dumbbells for the last 3 years. On my mind so this hit at a Perfect time!
Important message, great episode, thank you! 🔥
🤘🏼
great episode guys! thank you very much for all you guidance, very helpful all your knowledge appreciate guys! mind pump time! 💥 💪
Boom!
Recently stumbled on you guys and am loving the content! Especially geared towards women!!
Sweet!
Great episode! Such an important message to men and women alike. Decision made on next program to run through!
Thats so true , feeling stronger is the best feeling ever
❤ I AM READY!!! 🏋️♀️💪
AS I AM MOTIVATED AND INSPIRED… I feel with your combined guidance I can get my strength back after hip replacement and C5/C6 spinal fusion!!
Then when I’m feeling tired “the DATA shows…IF YOU QUIT you’ll hate your own guts Heather”. boom.
Bless ya boy with powerlift?🙏🏼
I been trying for hypertrohpy consistently for about the past 2 years and a half years I’m 19 years old and I’ve just hit 190 lbs at 6ft.
I have Powerlift in the arsenal. I think it’s time 💪🏼
LETS GO!
Thank you again guys for all the info you give me on my body transformation and strengthening my body at 58 years old.
Our pleasure!
Mind pump always giving the knowledge that continuously builds up my confidence! 💪🏻
Boom!
I’m two weeks in on a reverse diet and am already lifting heavier, I’m less tired, the scale is up but I’m looking slimmer. In God and MP I trust. 😅
You got this!
We like them as a warm up to get the whole CNS firing and primed for your workout! Though maybe wait til you run the program all the way through !
thank you guys for this amazing info!!
You bet!
I love the "surprise strength" moment. I picked up a 50 pound bag of chicken feed the other day with one hand, threw it in my trunk, turned and walked away before I realized what I did.
Powerlifting is great way to get started. Do you think it should be a cycle? Like power lift during winter months than cycle to something else.
Sent this to my girl 10 minutes in to the episode!
After YEARS of crazy cardio and dieting- I started weightlifting and got my dream body in 3 months. It feels so silly now, how obvious it is.
My friends get annoyed now because I’m constantly preaching weight lifting when they talk about losing weight.
Let em know!!!!
Great info, once again! Bring on the heavy weight!
Always!
That's a sick intro gentlemen
Hey guy, I have MAPS Anabolic but I am not a fan of doing all the different exercises. My workouts end up taking well over an hour and I’d like to be done within an hour. I did the starting strength routine when I first started out years ago and I loved focusing on the main compound lifts. Now I’ve let my diet get out of control and I went from 210 to 290 over the last 8 years. I want to get back down to 200 but I want to enjoy my workouts again. I never thought you could lose weight doing powerlifting routine. Would you guys suggest that route for weight loss?
Yes
What advice would you have for someone who literally doesn’t have time for gym workouts? I have dumbbells and can go for 30 min walks twice a day. Full time dad during the day and work in the evening. With caring for the kids and then doing homework ect..: and then going straight to work after how can I increase calories if im not able to go to the gym and work out the way I should be? How can someone in my shoes still take advantage of a good workout at home and be able to raise my calories? Or what workouts would you recommend at home to maximize the workout to be able to increase calories?
Thanks lads! I’m getting my Wife to watch this, I’m trying to emphasise to her she needs to lift heavy and hard!
keep up the good work guys, I originally started watching you guys seeing Sal on Tom Bilyeu's show and heard so many things that resonated with me with my own fitness and life struggles and keep listening to yall because it's always great to hear that constant conversation of having that individual balance of sustaining this journey long term
also, thinking about doing powerlifting training in my next cycle of training, never tried it and excited to see what kind of results and lessons I get from it! =D
Glad you found us!
I love when I'm in the heavy phases of the programs. I love lifting heavy and wish I could stay in the phases longer, but by week 4 my joints do start to talk to me, especially since I'm 43.
Great episode
Thanks for the mind pump! Mind Pump 💪
Being stronger helps and makes you more Self-Sufficient. Which is the key to confidence in yourself 🔑
💯
Thanks for this information. I am wondering if a novice 50 year old woman would be able to do your workouts?
Yes absolutely! Checkout MAPS Starter!

Would live to try this program ❤
It's so good!
Oooo, this will be a good episode!!! 😁👍💪🏼
Would love the powerlift program🎉🎉
Entered!
I'm considering entering a powerlifting competition! I'm sure I'll finish dead last but I'm not foolin' anyone, I'm no gold medalist, so I just want to try my best.
Is power lifting good for someone who is sort of a newbie? If so how do I go about it?
