    If you want more you can do extenders like drop sets, rest pause, partials, isometrics, forced reps, etc.

    I've been married to my husband for 19 year and we have 7 children. I didn't consciously realize this until hearing you all talk about it but my husband and I do things every day to make each other's life easier. It isn't something I really thought about. I just get joy in serving my husband and making him happy. I've had friends who refused to do things for their husband like their laundry. I always thought that was so weird. All those women ended up divorced. There really is something to serving your spouse. Giving builds happiness in yourself. When you find a partner who also gains happiness from serving you you are winning. BTW, I consider myself a conservative woman which supports the survey you spoke about.

    • @melindamercier6811
      @melindamercier6811 Месяц назад +7

      I agree wholeheartedly. For a fulfilling marriage, both parties need to be willing to serve the other’s needs. That man works so hard for me and our kids, you better believe I’m going to do everything in my power make his life better/easier. It also helps to be very close friends with your spouse and actually want the best for them. It can definitely get manipulative if one is a giver while the other is a taker. But if both put in the effort, there’s no greater bond. I’ve yet to hear of two married people who did their best putting their spouses first getting divorced.

    I remember you guys said if you had limited time to work out try doing 8 sets with 8-12 reps of one exercise each time. You were definitely right about by the 5th set you’re feeling it and struggling to get through all 8 sets. That’s been a fun challenge for me and I’ve been progress overloading that way. If I can hit all 8x12 I’ll move up the weight.

    About the conversation on women being independent.. I totally agree that a woman should be able to take care of herself & not be dependent on a man - or anyone. That way, if she gets into an unhealthy relationship, she can walk away. I think it would be absolutely horrible to be ‘stuck’ in a relationship because you are so dependent & incapable of supporting yourself . Having said that, I have spent a great deal of my adult life being single - not bc I wanted to - I just never met the right person. Let me tell you - it can get HARD to try and be the man AND the woman. I never spent one day saying. ‘I love this.’ ..Now, I am with someone and I appreciate SO much the things he is able to do - like he installed a dishwasher for me the other day like it was nothing! It would have taken me all year to figure it out - or maybe never. 🤣 Having to do everything alone truly makes you appreciate it when you finally find the right person. 🙏

      Being independent is great for self preservation. But building a team where you work together expands the potential for all members of the team. No way could I be the attentive and patient mother and homemaker I am without my husband’s support, and my husband wouldn’t be able to have the career he has while raising the kids or have a clean home with homemade meals without me as his wife.

    Alot of stuff you said I agree with. Yes, as we age we experience declines in hornones, our bodies aren't as efficient etc. But it is a slow decline. More importantly, our response is crucial. The average person, those they do studies on, will not respond by doing strength training, eating better etc. All that age does is slightly lower your max potential, as long as you eat well, strength train, optimise sleep etc. Also, yes running is great and I am surprised, given the research that strength training in the low rep ranges especially improves running form, economy, and lowers injury risk, that you have not done a program for runners!

    Love you guys. I'm always really concerned when I agree with everything someone says because then I tend to believe anything else they say. In other words, I stop thinking about what they say and just believe everything. I think that's a bad road. Hopefully that made sense. At any rate, I found things i disagree with you guys. Thank God! I also looked up the lawsuit regarding flouride. First, I don't believe it's a conspiracy that flouride is put in the water to make people dumber. There is no evidence that at current levels flouride is harmful. If it were found to be harmful it would be because we have better data, not because someone is trying to make us dumber. In the lawsuit it was put forward that double the amount of flouride put into water harms IQ. Not current levels. EPA will have to respond. I would also say that other things i would not consider a conspiracy we have changed our minds on because we get better data as well. I've never heard conspiracy theory that turned out to be true. Anyway, love you guys and I've learned so much. You're my favorite podcast and RUclips channel right now.

      Another option is tempo. If the higher weights will cause you issue (joint, etc.), then you can adjust the tempo to draw out the tension on the target muscle. Even a pause of a second or 2 at the extension increases the amount of stimulus. Something like a 1 second concentric, pause, 2 second eccentric, pause. And avoiding total lockouts. The stimulus stays constant, and lighter weights feel heavier without the added joint/tendon stress.

      A major part of their podcast has always been about not fitness sruff and i personally like it. Fitness related stuffs has always been in 1st portion of the podcast, so when you are done listening to it you cn just skip if you don't like the reat of the topics

    MP might be the most annoying RUclips channel around. They drop a thumbnail with something they know will interest people, then give you a 2hr video to watch, with 5 minutes of the thumbnail topic. Drop a short for God’s sake.

    I had a trainer that had me doing 4 sets of 15 reps for everything. I got in really good shape in 6 months. I now change it up. Sometimes I go lighter weights more reps and sometimes heavier wights low reps Depends on how I feel. I get bored easily so trying different methods is a plus to keep me interested.
