If I ever have to complete a mining Dreamlight Duty, the Vitalys mines are probably best for that.

So I unlocked Sunlit Plateau and the Nature and Nuture quest didn't start for me, and the rocks didn't break away for me to enter the elephant skull?

There's one in your inventory.
It’s in the chest near camp in the mine. If you’ve already opened that and still don’t see it in your inventory, go check that camp area and see if it’s still on the ground.
Help!!!!! I think I must have eaten the crackling candy and dried ginger because I can’t find it in my inventory. I know I did have them at one point 😢😭.

Vanilla can be found growing wild around Sunlit Plateau - like oregano grows wild in the plaza area.

Do you think after this quest we will be able to unlock woody? I am disappointed in the update as it seems, like it is one quest that you are waiting for for 3 days and cant do nothing else, gives them time to fix their bugs I guess. I just hope after this, there will be a new character I can unlock 🥲
I finished this quest and so far no other characters have been introduced. Im working my way through all of Scar’s quests now, so maybe something will change 🤷🏾♀️
