Thanks dude for making this video had to replace this part for my mom also thank you for being short and to the point instead of an hr video for a 5 minute job
This was happening to my daughter when I was teaching how to drive. When she was practicing parking the power steering would go out. Thanks for the vid. 👍🏻
My sister is having trouble in this area. She said a fuse blew. Then she said she could wiggle fuse box around and she may get power steering to work again. She also said the A/C is working off and on. This is a start. Never knew about that power assist motor deal. Thanks for the video.
"I really just want you to fix your sh#t ... sooo go out there and fix it" .... best outtro to a DIY video ever!😂 appreciate this vid too. dealer said it was a 2hr job. $210 for just the labor! I got the part for $80 on RA and watched a few vids. most showed hr tops. wanted to " see" what they would charge cause its hard to find time on a homestead to stop and do this tbh... but saving $210 is a lot of supplies. ✌❤
Many newer cars are starting to have it. This one was only 125 bucks for the motor but in some other cases it's much more expensive and invasive to repair.
you fucking get a like and a subscribe for being honest - thanks for posting this - it really does help out - time to go fix my shit ;) - thanks man appreciate you.
My 2009 HHR power steering went out all of a sudden. Will replacing the power steering motor fix it or could it be something else causing the steering wheel to be really hard to turn? Please help😊
@@bobaganoosh88 Thank you so much for your fast response I really appreciate it! I just don't want to spend the money if that's not even the problem but it looks so easy to fix so I definitely don't want to take it to the mechanic if I can help it. Thank you again
@@ashleybullard1285 You can take your car to an autozone or something like that and they'll scan your engine codes and if there's one set for the assist motor, thats definitely your issue. Good luck 🙂
Hello Brad, My 2008 HHR SS has an issue where the steering wheel sometimes locks up while turning and I had to apply great pressure to make it move. I noticed it's easier to steer when moving faster. Could this be an issue with the steering assist motor?

Its super easy I can't believe anyone would charge 200 labor. I only charged 100 and felt like that was too much!
Thanks, that's very helpful now I have to find that motor my car is old 2006😢
Perfect instructions. Took 30 minutes.
The pop out sound though 😂😂🤙🏾
P.S: I never even knew that thing existed 💪🏾🙌🏾 thanks

I have a 2010 ss hhr and the steering locks up every five months is there power steering fluid in this vehicle?
No just an electric assist motor.

Most likely that assist motor. Usually it'll set an engine light.

Yes. When they're no longer functioning it'll be hard to steer at a stop but easier whilst moving.
