ALL RIGHT! Did I miss a vlog? I've watched the whole series and still haven't seen the bailer run. Just like the MIGA let down of rebuilding of that mower and was picked it up before we saw it run. I felt there should have been a test run vlog before releasing the piece of equipment. I know ya'll are balls to wall behind and busy but could you possible send someone out and shoot some video of that mower in action?
You haven't mentioned how heavy of a bale the Hesston is making,the mods you made and the machine itself looks good Wes.Now,let the 16 hour shifts begin!!.

Having run only a dinosaur 66 New Holland baler and 14 an 24 T Deere balers, I'm glad you put this video on. I finally got how the pre charge and stuffer work. Thanks for that. Wes, those tires are damn close to everything. Are they stock size? If they are, that baler isn't mud friendly. Had to ask....

Congratulations on reaching your target bale weight. Adjusting the stuffer trigger, will make a big difference if, most of the time, you can have it making a flake every stroke, and you have enough power to keep on stroking, you will have maximum efficiency. The tractor travel speed will allow Tim to regulate how much hay is in one flake. With my Krone, in good dry alfalfa, I like to have about 3" flakes. 32 strokes/flakes and a 96" long bale is made. This usually puts me around 35-45 tons an hour when in a windrow. (ignoring headland time). I don't produce 1500 pound bales! Does your jd 4960 tractor support Power Beyond hydraulics with a Load Sensing line going back to the tractor? Maybe a better question... Does the Hesston 4910 baler support a 3 hose Power Beyond hydraulic hookup?
I like the tune u use on occasion you have uses it in fast and slow mode. Looks like the tires on the 8500 series tractor are wearing down some. Onelonlyfarmer shouldve built and engineered hesston bailers or wat ever. They all may work better. I hope tim handles his part of the bussiness.

Actually the big wide tires help the bailer float across muddy ground and not create ruts. It's the same reason big girls float easier in water than skinny girls.:)
Bigger tyres allow lower ground pressure which allows you to float nicely. Those tyres could be ran at 20 bars of pressure and do no compaction. Bigger fatter tyres are way better than small narrow tyres.
I agree with everything you say. However, there has to be enough clearance to run such a tire. It appears that the tire is almost rubbing the baler at the top of the tire.

I am more interested in the content you provide than the quality of the video. Very impressed with what you did on that old beast to make if a viable option to produce more bales. Good job Wes the bailer guru. You should try to get a direct sponsorship with krone! you may need to make your videos more professional however. Pay tim to do some editing work!. Also buy some expensive camera equipment you deserve a bigger audience.
I don't think anything will ever change Wes's impartiality. These were just suggestions i'm sure Wes will disagree with but i think could make his channel more appealing to a wider audience and allow this channel to grow faster. it would be good to see a krone engineer and wes working and testing new balers in Germany or something idk.
Balers are built for different crops and use what's best of ur situation bc what I bale per year is far more then u Wes but my bales are all feed bales to get through winter months and I don't care what kind of baler I use as long it does the job I need it to do

You Are going to need a New gearbox or two on the hesston, but they make nice dence balles with some mods :)

A grade 8 bolts isn't always stronger than a grade 5, many times a grade 8 will snap because it doesn't have any flex allowance that a grade 5 gives.

when the Krone is paid off, you'll have to sell the Heston and get a second Krone. Assuming the Krone you have now is still reliable.

There’s an upgrade for that hydraulic valve block on the baler to make it load sensing !, you then don’t have to have your tractor constant pumping !.
Lot of money just to make the baler perform at the standard your looking for. Hope it all works out for you....
