    Love the shiur davaning by heart ,yet there is so much meaning in the basics .

    Around 2', the hammer of the key hits the string, but only when the hammer comes off the string, a split second later, can you hear the sound. Violin is yet more fascinating, as the bow being drawn across the string creates the impulse / the ratzo, and the response / the shov, simultaneously, or rather in rapid succession, and the violinist needs to fine tune the contact with the string in order allow it to vibrate, creating a sound without choking it. It's like this with everything in life, finding that balance...
