I’m watching this video as a father of a one year old and as an Army combat veteran who just became homeless about 3 hours ago. I’ve been in an abusive relationship with a narcissist. She drained my money. All I have is my car, this phone, and about two weeks income to my name, at least until the divorce occurs. This video came at the right time though. I know things will get better.
Hopefully long story short: when I was 19 my girlfriend (and first true love) of 15 months unceremoniously dumped me. I never saw it coming and was devastated. However, the experience forced me to look inward and deal with the pain I was feeling. It turned out that this was one of the most important experiences of my life (I am now 70 years old) and it helped me mature and learn some valuable life lessons. I found that the process of maturation is learning from your setbacks and working to overcome them. In that regard, this girl did me a big favor. Scott, best wishes in your journey and you’re right: will get better for you.
I studied all of your books and it changed my life completely in a good way. I stopped the sickness of complaining and comparing myself with others then put myself in the death ground now I’m working on myself as I never did before. Thank you so much Mr. Greene!
The great achievement of Robert Greene has been to get a hopelessly self-centered generation learning about history and exposing them to the ideas of great thinkers by appealing to their own self-interest. The intentionally amoral tone of the books gets people thinking for themselves and creates the kind of notoriety that gets them read. I have run a music school in a drugs-gang controlled favela in Rio de Janeiro for the last 10 years and the 48 Laws, taken with the pinch of salt that the author clearly intended, have been invaluable for staying safe here. Thank you Robert Greene.
7:29 “you don’t go and get angry at the rock”… so powerful and so true. People will be people, with their own motivations and goals, since everybody is selfishly (understandably so) basically fighting entropy if we want to get it down to physics. This resonates quite strong because just recently listened to a video (one of the hilarious “Tech Lead” sarcastic rants) where he equates everybody to crazy monkeys and dogs going about doing their own thing, as they should… so, with that in mind when a dog bites you, we don’t really get angry at the dog, the dog does what it does, we would likely instead blame ourselves and think about why we didn’t avoid the dog or how could it have been handled better. Instead of dwelling in it. Glad to have bumped into Dr. Greene, fantastic views. This guy is literally saving lives.

@@kevinbeck8836 that’s not Nietzschean you dunce. Nietzsche had almost a fleshed out philosophy that was not entirely 100% nihilistic. My point is that your wrong and that Greene not Nietzschean whatever tf that means. What I’m trying to get at is that ultimately you’re a philosophical simpleton. And also my other point is that you don’t understand Nietzsche really
Take heed at what is said @10:45 If this has happened to you, forgive their traspass for they do not know what they do, they are emotionally immature. Once you forgive them, God will deal with them so pray that they regret what they have done to you. Forgiving them does not mean they have to be your best friend, and it's OK and probably best to maybe part ways.
What good ideas compiled, Mr. Greene. Beforehand, I'm reading Nietzsche's The Gay Science. But I would like to know if next time you could explain what is his best technique for reading his books?
Dear Robert, do you think there is a danger when people merely regurgitate other people's "ideas" instead of finding inspiration in them and forming our own? I find that there are many "philosophers" today who spew the same thoughts of past masters. I wonder if it is possible to find something new and step out of this verbal quicksand that we are in.
I'd love to know 20th century philosophers you'd consider yourself a student of Mr. Greene. I have a hunch Foucault might be in that list but I've never seen you discuss him in any of your works. I assume Weber is one, since you've quoted him in one of your books. Hope you can make a video about this.

There’s more to life than jockeying for power, strategy, or resources.
His main influences are Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, and Machiavelli. That’s all you need to know
@@johngoldsworthy7135 Why are you trying to sell him further? I loved Schopenhauer, Machiavelli, and Nietzsche as teachers, and listening to Robert summarize and wax poetic about them is precisely why I am here. Did you not read my comment?
@@kevinbeck8836 that’s not Nietzschean you dunce. Nietzsche had almost a fleshed out philosophy that was not entirely 100% nihilistic.
My point is that your wrong and that Greene not Nietzschean whatever tf that means.
What I’m trying to get at is that ultimately you’re a philosophical simpleton. And also my other point is that you don’t understand Nietzsche really
@kevinbeck8836 make sure you get your 8th covid booster shot😅. Robert would be very proud of you

albert Camus was not in the list. i think he should have this list. he was fantastic........Addressed existential crisis
Take heed at what is said @10:45
If this has happened to you, forgive their traspass for they do not know what they do, they are emotionally immature. Once you forgive them, God will deal with them so pray that they regret what they have done to you. Forgiving them does not mean they have to be your best friend, and it's OK and probably best to maybe part ways.
Dear Robert Green, Can i Ask You, what do you think about Osho and Do you ever Read any Osho´s Books? Thanks a lot for Your Valuble Books.
Dear Robert pl read Osho you would like it !
Thanks so much, I love your books!! That was very helpful, I hate toxic people😂😂
Robert I want know more about Greek Gods. You named Herecleties (forgive the misspelling). This is a good thing to include in your book.
What good ideas compiled, Mr. Greene. Beforehand, I'm reading Nietzsche's The Gay Science. But I would like to know if next time you could explain what is his best technique for reading his books?
love your videos
❤❤❤
Hell of a cold robert has
lol
Love u robert
Eres increíble Robert 👏👏👏brillante
Dear Robert, do you think there is a danger when people merely regurgitate other people's "ideas" instead of finding inspiration in them and forming our own? I find that there are many "philosophers" today who spew the same thoughts of past masters. I wonder if it is possible to find something new and step out of this verbal quicksand that we are in.
Can we have a Spotify podcast by Robert Greene
I'd love to know 20th century philosophers you'd consider yourself a student of Mr. Greene. I have a hunch Foucault might be in that list but I've never seen you discuss him in any of your works. I assume Weber is one, since you've quoted him in one of your books. Hope you can make a video about this.
Can you share your thoughts on Chanakya?
