Boesser is a bargain now, trading him only means a bigger cap hit for probably a worse player. Boesser's also a career Canuck so far, and is likely to sign below market value to stay here. Same for Hoglander. Coming into the 2024 season, he's a middle 6 player who could develop over the next 2-3 seasons into a top 6 or even top line winger. And for next season at least, we get all that for $1.1 million. There is not a trade I can think of that would give us a better deal then that. And given he's a career Canuck so far, he's more likely to be willing to give a home discount and stay a bargain for whatever he is by the end of this season. Any new guys would likely be less valuable to us for the price we pay for them, are likely to be older and already at their peak. A Hoglander keep, if he pans out, means he's our future star, our future Boesser, so the team can stay competitive for longer, maybe even long enough to form a dynasty. Wouldn't that be something? Have a management team that builds a contender with multiple generations of talent that keeps the team in contention for years to come! But you can't trade away your future and build that. Trading him now while he's still a prospect and could be a marquis player 3 years down the road really doesn't make sense at this time, unless the right deal is on the table. Trade him and you're only making the cap situation worse NOW, out of fear it MIGHT get worse tomorrow, or we MIGHT not be able to resign our guys tomorrow. Hoglander is one of our best homegrown talents and there's a better then even chance he gives us a home discount to say in one place and we continue to get great value in dollars spent for production delivered. Trade him and we must replace him with someone who may or may not fit like Big Hog does. Who'll likely want to cash in on their payday, meaning more Benning like Contract Players - like Makeyev. I guarantee you we will NOT find a middle to top 6 forward for JUST $1.1 mil a season, no chance in hell. We'll need to replace Hogs by taking on a $4-7 mil/year player to get the same production out of whoever we get in return, and that means who else in our core do we lose? Quinn Hughes? Thatcher Demko? Someone else important to us? No. Keep the bargain and get full advantage of it, then pay him what he's worth when his contract is up. If he continues at a 20 goal pace or escalates to a 30 goal pace, we got our legit top 6 home grown. If he peters out, we get a middle or bottom 6 who can score for a bargain. Either way, keeping retained talent is a bargain now, and more likely to be a bargain when it's time to resign them next summer.
I’m in with these two for a trade 💯‼️ can’t keep Brock after next season so why not, this team isn’t winning the cup next season. Hoglander should bring in a 1st round pick, prospect. Canucks definitely need to make bold moves because they can’t afford these high priced players now.
I say sell high on Silovs. The organization was starting tolopilo ahead of him in abby so what does that say? Seems like theres another starting goalie coming and we have demko...
Boesser is a player that coasts and defence is questionable he's a hot commodity now cooling as we speak don't forget it was a contract year this year ! That pattern is concerning imo
PS they need to get Rid of the Cap. Of raise up to Football or Baseball or even soccer. Euro Division would be great too. We need more wealthy owners here in Vancouver. A hometown boy like CZ Binance!
If the Canucks can trade Brock Boeser and get a package similar to what they got for Bo Horvat (1st, high prospect, and NHL-ready player), I say take it and run. Boeser is a decent player and good for the Canucks, but he's like a luxury piece at this point. Once Boeser's contract ends, he will most likely be requesting a raise and with lengths. Will he be asking for at least 9 million x 8 years (assuming he's equally as productive next season). It's not likely he will be, "Well... I didn't play good the past few seasons prior, so I'm gonna take a pay cut to 'repay back' when I was playing at a $3 million player level". He isn't the most physical nor the speediest player.... so once he's in his 30's, he may very well be an anchor on the team. A bit early, but there are lots of notable UFA on expiring contracts in 2025. Marner, Rantanen, Draisaitl, Johansen, Hall, Granlund, Ehlers, Konecny... for the forward group. Then there's Hedman, Ekblad, Pionk, Chychrun, etc... for possible defense upgrades. As much as I like Brock, his potential salary could probably be better used elsewhere.
For the first time since about 1995, when Quinn started making big mistakes, I actually trust this administration to make good decisions in the short term. Every management group hits a brick wall at some point, but for the foreseeable future, whatever they decide to do, it should make the team better, not worse. But I do expect a decline, given the loss of players and the Canucks overachieving in the first half of the season. I expect a playoff team though. The last time I was tied to certain players was that 1994 team. I don’t get attached like that anymore. Only one thing matters: team success. If they have to do it without certain “core” guys, fine. Just win. I love Brock, Elias, Quinn and Thatcher, but it’s about winning. Do what you have to do to win. These aren’t my boyfriends. They’re millionaire hockey players.
None of this has a name coming back, people just saying "trade them" and there is zero context. Basically generating talk out of nothing. If it makes sense for the team then any one of the players will be gone.
trading boeser would be best at the trade deadline. he will get you into the playoffs but after next year, dead cap space will be 4 mill x2 so the cap will need to go up big to be able to keep him
Selling High on Boeser yes! I sure hope so Habs could use him. Since the Canucks are lighting top 6 wingers why not trade away their best one? It’s such a Canuck thing to do. Hoaglander is overrated.
Oh just what we need. To get rid of our best winger with excellent chemistry on JT Miller’s line. Yeah just get rid of him. Höglander too. Might not be a top 6 winger but who knows how he’ll develop because he’s not even in his prime yet. Just get rid of him for a 7th round pick.
Selling Hogs makes zero sense whatsoever. Only 23 and one of the few bargains on this team. He will become a Nylander lite, book it. Aren’t you all sick of trading away young guys without ever giving them a chance to develop? See McCann, Forsling, etc As for Garland, u want to get rid of a leader and one of the best players for us in the playoffs? Guy brings it every single night. It’s insane how crap Canucks fan takes are.
For me, Hogs was the most disappointing. He seemed built for the playoffs and did virtually nothing. Can prob get a good return. No to trading Boes. We need top 6 forwards so prob shouldn’t be trading them away.
He didn't play poorly. He played hard, engaged and won lots of puck battles along the board, got under the skin of some players on the other teams, generated some decent scoring chances. Just the Hoglander, Pettersson, Mikheyev line was a void together. Hoglander seemingly worked better as a bottom-6 player, where he can feast on lesser opposition.
Benning core Hoglander and Boeser still here time to retooled Benning core Trading Boeser make sense to many players make over 7 now 26 enter his prime need to get younger

Hoglander scored more goals than fantilli and L Carlson combined this year and who else is gonna be that good for 1.1 mil
Trade passenger pete if anything. At least Brock played with effort in the playoffs.
Canucks will have cap space issues..And its better to trade players to get playrrs coming back ..Then lose them for nothing
Vancouver likes giving on players who have a standard sophomore slump.
i still prefer guys who had the strength ie like Kesler and Bieska ... clearly this team still needs help...
Yea but what teams have that today?
trading boeser would be best at the trade deadline. he will get you into the playoffs but after next year, dead cap space will be 4 mill x2 so the cap will need to go up big to be able to keep him
Trade Hoglander + 2nd for Necas.
Trade Pettersson + Mikheyev for Cooley + Durzi + 2nd.
Selling High on Boeser yes! I sure hope so Habs could use him.
Since the Canucks are lighting top 6 wingers why not trade away their best one? It’s such a Canuck thing to do.
Hoaglander is overrated.
With the way these videos have been going, you would think the Canucks placed last in the league...
No not Boeser you have to keep him he’s part of core hogs maybe
Oh just what we need. To get rid of our best winger with excellent chemistry on JT Miller’s line. Yeah just get rid of him. Höglander too. Might not be a top 6 winger but who knows how he’ll develop because he’s not even in his prime yet. Just get rid of him for a 7th round pick.
Guess Hoglander needs to be part of the package to dump Mikheyev.
Petey too opens up room for player we get for all three .just a thought😊
Selling Hogs makes zero sense whatsoever. Only 23 and one of the few bargains on this team. He will become a Nylander lite, book it. Aren’t you all sick of trading away young guys without ever giving them a chance to develop? See McCann, Forsling, etc
As for Garland, u want to get rid of a leader and one of the best players for us in the playoffs? Guy brings it every single night. It’s insane how crap Canucks fan takes are.
yes get someone back who can play in the playoffs
Boeser would have a better chance winning a cup on another team and I'll tell you that much for free.
DAKOTA JOSHUA Welcome to Canada's 🇨🇦 team. Toronto maple 🍁 Leafs 🍃
Rebuild baby!!!
650 SN is frikken garbage ( except Halford and brough)
No one likes SportsNet. Rogers is the CCP of sports shoved down our throats. I prefer ESPN. I do really enjoy the hockey night in Canada intermissions. SportsNet is a waste of taxpayers dollars. Defund SportNet and break up Rogers.
WOW good thing we sold good prospects and draft picks for rentals while also being in cap hell! GOOD TO SEE NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN THIS MANAGEMENT!
noooooooooooo im worried
Trade him I wanted him traded around the deadline
Sell high on Garland or Hoglander keep only one fiesty munchkin. Too small for the playoffs.
Brock leaves i leave. this is why they never won a cup.
fake fan
What is the GM doing? One good season and they are going to throw it all away? 🥲
