    Great video but definitely not the fs clutch causing the heat issue ive been using the fs clutch in my mcd/ losi and other cars racing at the track offroad for 5years with open clutch carriers never overheated an engine i run esp 29cc and esp 30.5cc. Id say if people are having heating issues with the 35 its a mix of wrong oil mix and bad tuning will overheat any engine. Just my honest opinion and my experiences that ive had. But enjoyed your video keep em coming 👌

    • @eastsiderc
      @eastsiderc  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you bro. As I said in the vid the FS with a bad tune and lots of off n on is not good! You dont have problems because you know how to tune. A bad tune will slip the piss out of that fs clutch and a regular one too for that matter. But that metal to metal can create serious heat. So good for you man for tuning right and winding tight! The key to any RC clutch is to ensure it locks up immediately to minimize the amount of slippage. Because after its locked you are not creating anymore heat!! And running the open clutch carrier is also a very smart idea! I do not like enclosed clutch carriers unless for a show piece I wont be using. Thanks for the great comment and your true testimony to you FS clutch .

    I wanted to share an observation I've had from running buggies and other gas 2-strokes for about the past 10 years. Ive been running the zenoah 32 and 34 cc engines for a while now and Ive been having a lot of trouble with carburetors. 2 or three tanks and I have a no start condition on a bunch of them. 990, 1242a, 1107, 668. It really didn't matter what carb it was. I normally run 25:1 fuel oil mixture and actually was running 20:1 at one point. Blue Marble is the 2 stroke oil I've been using and to me its pretty good stuff. Going as far as rebuilding engines only to find out it was a bad carb has gotten really old and discouraging. I see a handful of guys running 50:1 and it makes sense to me that my fuel oil mixture is off and is gumming up carbs. Im gonna start running that amsoil you recommend and see if my luck changes. Thank you good sir for your service to the hobby!!

      Hey Keegan bro thank you so much for this comment. First I would like to say Im sorry you have had such a headache with the gas hobby! However I would also like to commend you for not giving up. Well done bro! So with that being said I rarely have car issues if I do its because something wore out , a diaphragm, a needle, a clog . Basic stuff. Easy fix back to brapping. I highly recommend Amsoil Saber at 50:1 . The oil is meant to be used at 80:1 and 100:1 so you are over killing at 50:1. I like that mix. My buddies who have listened to me on the 50:1 have experimented and tried 100:1 and they said they cannot even believe it haha. 50:1 is a nice safe mix for all to run. Really broadens your needle spectrum and allows you to throw as much fuel at the engine as possible for making optimal power and cool running tips! Please get back to me after a valid try Keegan. I have not received a disappointment yet! Happy brapping to you brother 🙏🤝⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️

    I have 2 small bores, one is the Taylor 35CC reed and both running the Zenoah clutches and 25:1 motul oil. The Taylor just runs hotter. It’s also more powerful than my other one. These engines can run hotter than people realize. I see 430F peaks with no issues. It drops back down while doing a fast pass. Some of my small bores run cooler, they aren’t as powerful as the Taylor 35CC. Small engine buiders will tell you that these small CC engines are way smaller than the engines the oil was designed for. That’s why they say 25:1. That info comes directly from ESP etc. the high rpm is the reason. In the world of 2 strokes, a lot of information contradicts others. There are too many variables. Awesome video by the way…I love them all. I apply your knowledge to my everyday life of 2 strokes also. Every bit of experience is helpful.

    • @eastsiderc
      @eastsiderc  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Brian wow bro thats really hot! Where are you taking that engine temp? Thats over double normal operating temps, Ive only seen 365 at the combustion chamber and 190~225 cylinder temps never ever any hotter no matter how hard Im running. And I understand why they say 25:1 . These engines are so pptiny they dont need all that oil. My giant 300cc two stroke runs perfectly on 50:1 and KTM wants you to run 60:1. Im just not buying the 25:1 after running my engines on it and taking temp and rpm tests against 50:1 that showed me I will NEVER use too much oil in my engines again! But brother thats just me! Im just sharing what I do not necessarily recommending it Im just sharing how I make some good power! It dont matter to me if someone runs 25:1 or 16:1 its all about the fun we are both having and if we all did the same thing that would be boring haha! Hope you have a great Sunday Brian! 🤝Ive gotta go into work .

After watching your video I have now switched to 50/1 using amsoil dom, Was previously running 28/1 oil ratio and what a difference it has made, My temps have dropped 10-15°c cooler an engine feels like it has more get up and go all the way through the rev range. 50/1 is NOW my go to oil ratio!! I'm gunna build a kraken tt next spring , I'm getting the Taylor 35reed for it , I try not to do long runs with my big bores and my 35 job at to keep the heat down on all of them but great video , so your basically using almost half of the oil recommended? Love it ! Gas moves more freely I'm 💬 ng

    • @eastsiderc
      @eastsiderc  5 месяцев назад

      Hey bro thanks for the comment. Yes half the oil. Mike does recommend 25:1. But Im not telling you to use 50:1 Im just telling you thats what I do and the results I have are fantastic. You are very correct Chris the gas flows much better without too much oil. If your engine is tuned on 25:1 and you switch to 50:1 without retuning your engine will run rich. This is a wonderful thing RICH!?! Meaning more fuel which means more lubrication. The engines simply love it and run so clean. The whole idea is to give you engine as much fuel as it can possibly handle and it will love you for it and the performance you will love! Happy brapping to you Chris! Thank you bro!

      @@eastsiderc yep! 50:1 makes such clean power, easy to tune. I've found in general that a motor tuned for 32:1 and switched over to 50:1 will take much more fuel on the tune. Makes way more rpm and really makes a broad clean power. One day I spent trying 25,32,36,40 :1 on same fuel and car. Tuning for each fuel.....went back to 50:1 and never looked back.

    • @eastsiderc
      @eastsiderc  5 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely bro! Thanks for the testimony! My brother Tom even runs 50:1. Ive never tried it haha but he said if you think 50:1 is awesome. Saber says its 100% safe so I trust them. I just figure it runs so well on 50:1 so if its perfect for 100:1 at 50:1 you are getting double the protection without the overuse of oil. So I just like that. Ive opened my engines up after some time to check n see how they are wearing and oil is all over the place on every single thing inside the engine. Ring always looks beautiful and square and cylinder unscathed! This is why Im such a believer out of these synthetic oils. I cooked a .45 ran it with dragging bearings in the wheel hubs and said screw it lets test saber and blow this up. The seals went and the engine turned off at 400+ degrees and I new seals in it and it was fine. I absolutely could not believe it. So if you give these engines the fuel required and everything is sealed tight, you wont have nothing but clean fun!! Tuning is so much fun so why not broaden the spectrum and have even more fun and you can start throwing fuel and making power!! Thanks again for the awesome comment bro to Mr. Mannas comment!

    I can never get my 30 degree north 38cc to run ever. I sent it back to fearlessRC and was told it needed tuned, well, sorry but it won’t even start. Both needles on the carb were at 1.5 turns out. The crank and head gaskets were leaking and I thought that would get addressed. I tried to fire it yesterday with no luck. 50:1 is what I use, on the castor 927 for the scuff/ break in. I’m really at a loss here as far as what I need to do to get it running now? I split the case apart cleaned it all up and used some yamabond on my gaskets. For a good cure I will most likely wait until tomorrow to give it a go.

Klotz is awesome and its smells so good! I would prefer synthetic after five or so tanks of Klotz , full synthetic simply cuts friction which cuts heat and makes the engine last longer to its superior lubricity . And thank you Robert! 🤝🤝

      Hello Frank Im going to give you my honest opinion. Please dont hate me. I think those engines run fine and they are reliable. However I feel they are mediocre and not ported to the performance they claim them to make. I say this because my engine builder has tested their engines that claim 9.4 hp on the dyno and they barely made 7 hp. I own a 34 OBR myself. Im one who appreciates the truth. And Dan has not been very nice to me on the groups when he found out that I worked with Allen Cestra . However I forgive him and have zero hard feelings. I just didnt appreciate the drama when Im just trying to have a good time. But I feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with them engines. If you are happy and they run well for you and you’re having fun then that is what really matters! I like all engines , makes no models. I just enjoy 2 strokes , tuning them and hearing them so much.

    Brother that saber oil isnt the best. The dominator kind from ams-oil is there best 2 stroke oil. And the best 2 stroke oil on the market is klotz. Klotz is only of the only 2 stroke oils that u can run with nitro so go ahead and try and use sabre with nitro and watch what happens.

      No way man the dom can only handle 60:1 thats inferior compared to Saber at 100:1 . You aint telling me anything bro! Ive tested both. Dom is messy and gooey. Klotz aint even synthetic. It dont hold a candle to Fully Synthetic oils.

    • @eastsiderc
      @eastsiderc  5 месяцев назад

      You are correct Klotz is needed for nitro and methanol M5 VP. The Synthetics just dont mix well with that type of race fuel. Synthetics. Cannot be mixed with nitro or alcohol due the nature of those fuels . They need that castor bean oil that Klotz provides. Alcohol dont like synthetics for some reason. But when you’re not using alcohol synthetics is far far superior in friction cutting and lubricity.
