Stop apologizing for feeling like they did not do you justice in the article. Stop excusing them or giving them excuses and justifications. Their behavior is one of the very things we as black people are fed up with and trying to get away from. Say with your chest. THEY DID NOT HANDLE THE ARTICLE APPROPRIATELY. Hats off to you for the beautiful work you do. It deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. You're helping so many of us just gather the courage to get up out of here!!! Hope to see you someday in Africa!

My point, too, what they did is pure garbage. They know it. But this is the indication that they are afraid of what she is doing, so #YouGlowAshley
Honestly, they are no bad publicity:)

Yes, I left primarily because I was tired of living under a WS system and not feeling comfortable in my own country, but the side effects of WS i.e. internalized racism also played a role in why I left. AAs have lived under an often brutal WS system for over 400 years, that's centuries of generational trauma that has never been resolved or even properly acknowledged. And that trauma often manifests as deep-rooted anti-bIkness, not respecting, valuing or loving each other, seeing one another as less than or valueless or not as good, valuable or worthy of respect as whites, idealizing other groups while demonizing bIks, the lack of respect for bIk life etc. I realized that it's just too difficult to build healthy, strong bIk families or even friendships in that kind of environment, living in that kind of environment puts a strain on your psyche, families/relationships, and physical health.

Hello Ashley, how are you? I came across your channel as I was looking up some information. I have been to South Africa several times. I want to relocate down there. I actually lease a place in Durban. I'm 61, currently working in states but at the moment, it's not transferable to SA. My question is: What steps do I need to take to fully relocate to SA with acquiring sustainable work or a business?

For me when the time is right I hope to be able to move to Africa but I have much to learn as I need to learn how to run a company, my company, properly. This year should prove if I can get the technology that will allow me to make the move up and running or not and if not I have to move on to doing something else. I understand that if I am to have a better life I must leave the land of our captors as only then can we get true freedom.
I have a lot of learning to do plus a lot of work that needs to get done as I am not getting any younger as folks my age starting to meet their end sooner than expected.

I just read some part of it. They lost me when they made LGBT as a big part of the story. I didn't see anyone in the article that were gay. Again i didn't finish it. So I gave it an F big time. Yes, all media is good media. When I watched what you are doing, Ashley, don't drop yourself in mud. Every single Aboriginal gods and goddesses, who made the choice to return home is something worthy for the angels to sing about. So, I am not against those with LGBT lifestyles. I am against America imposing the LGBT lifestyles as a human right issue, while racism, discrimination, murder of Black in America, or Gaza is not a human right issue to them. Next time pressure them to do better. They need to elevate at your level. You don't need articles with bad energies. I am proud of alk if y'all. Home is calling. Do better #NYTimes

True, it's not so much racism, it's us deleting each other. While that's the affects of institutionalized racism and an induced psychological problem, it's still a choice. We don't need to be validated by anyone, especially by those who insisted that we feel inferior to elevate them, and those are the ones on both sides. We all just need to keep being excellent and the person God imagined us to be when he first thought of us.

Hey Ashleey! America will be back. Africa is on the rise, but America will be back. It may not be the light on top of the hill as it once was but it will find its feet. Too much human talent and let's be honest there is no place like it. It's too much greed and a crazy surge of feminism that has stripped its anchors. Very glad you've chosen Africa to move to and I feel black Americans have a lot to offer in sports, military, civil society, etc. and hopefully they get the space to give, live and move freely. It was written. 🤞🏽

People need to be careful about leaving the United States and moving to Mexico, Central and South America, and African countries. If one has the money to do that, they're stepping into an economically depressed city, town, or country and eventually will start displacing the native population. This native population will eventually come to resent the new money stepping in, gentrifying their neighborhoods and raising cost of living. If you're moving to one of these places, you need to make sure you're bringing more than just money to the area. You should consider creating businesses and employing local people at respectable wages.
The backlash is coming... so be careful.
