    Me: A dragon
    Santa: Come now, be realistic
    Me: WotC to not suck at writing stories
    Santa: So what color dragon do you want?

    praetors were so cool when they're pretty mysterious characters, after the unflavorful new phyrexia saga, is hard to imagine them as before, well,Jin gitaxias and urabrask are probably the best developed from all five, but after that rushed finale, they had lost that mysticism that existed upon the phyrexian victory in mirrodin

    You could say that Karn passed on both Urza and Yawgmoth imcompetance to new Phyrexia.
    And he not only managed to be at the mercy of new Phyrexia twice, he also managed to lose his spark twice.

    Vorinclex is easily my favourite praetor. Purely because he's just a big, angry dog. All the other praetors have real wants, plans and personalities, and there, held up at the same level is just a dumb animal. It's great. He's awful and I love him.

      karn can't denied that urza spark had a huge influence upon him, even is funny to think that all the personality of karn was acquired from urza's spark (well, except his obsession with jhoira, probably that's his only remanent before the legacy weapon)

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the March Of The Machines set, there was a black card [merciless repurposing] where the text said "as (I forgot) tore at urabrasks limbs, he heard Elish Norn whisper, leave the traitor be"
    This could hint at Urabrask's potential return to the MTG multiverse, I'm not fully aware of his status ATM other than ripped apart then left behind. But aside from that, let us not forget that in order for the OG father of machines to control the Phyrexian oil, a dark ritual had to be done, obviously the ritual is lost to the sands of time, but the fact that something had to be done to establish a link is the point.

      I do believe all the Praetors are dead by the time the story actually wraps up, though I may be misremembering.

    • @ghostthemercenary769
      @ghostthemercenary769 2 месяца назад +1

      @@The_Loreseeker from what digging I've found, after merciless repurposing, Urabrask just straight up disappears from the story, he may be dead and gone or just vibing in an incapacitated state, but the dark ritual theory is a strong possibility, but even then, the status of Phyrexia in general is a static haze to be only known in future sets or development

  • @vincentpey3929

    Urabrask was based and cool, wish they had resolved "March of the Machine" with him becoming father of machines and making a more chill Phyrexia, it would still be a sucky place but at least he wouldnt attempt to forcefully take over the multiverse since he believes in freedom and that people will eventually realize that being compleat is better than being made of flesh.

    • @The_Loreseeker
      @The_Loreseeker  9 месяцев назад +2

      I agree - Urabrask would have been the best possible leader of Phyrexia, and would have led to a solid relationship with the multiverse. Unfortunately WotC is WotC.

    I think there was mention of the oil interacting with the mycosynth causing it to mutate?

  • @MagicApocalypseTCG
    @MagicApocalypseTCG 9 дней назад +1

    I wished Karn and Urabrask got to Interact between them because they could have been like “look father I know you our kind haven’t been decent to the multi-verse but I promise the invasion won’t happen again if you let take over the plane and you can reshape the world for the survivors I don’t I just want to live.”
    I would love if they write this plane become a part of the Multi verse instead they banished it again I know this sounds stupid but a lot better story in the future.

  • @randomrants148

    I wish they had written more of Urabrask because he used the Planar gate to reach New Capenna and he meets Vivien, it was such a short introduction.
    I have would love to see Urabrask to strike a deal with her to prove that she can trust him. What about he goes with her and elspeth on an adventure in many planes, perhaps he can help him in New Capenna saving a bunch of civilians; at first the civilians would be afraid of him, but they warm up to him and maybe he had felt good helping them since he the color red after all.
    We could have an entire a somewhat anti- hero arc for our dear Urabrask seeing the world for the first with his "no-eyes?" have him touch non-metal grass for the first time and have him feel clean water between his toes, splashing it while have him describing how he feels about it while helping others in his journey and gain more knowledge what is mean to be truly free.
    I can see the flavor text.
    "This place is not near perfect to my domain, ... but this is acceptable, I guess." have an art that he is splashing water and rolling grass enjoying in self, but when he is caught, he acts like this place is fine to him but not perfect in his eyes.
    I know he one of them, but he seems like he has more layer to get away with in my opinion than the others.

      @@The_Loreseeker
      This might sound funny I didn't learn about the praetors and the phyrexians until the new arc started to show up because was I still new to the lore and began to listen story behind the cards.
      Urabrask sounded like character doesn't know what freedom really is, it's seems to him it's just a mindset that exist in his head and feels he doesn't know that he should just for his kind's freedom or for others it would add complex depth to his character, and this could be the best character development where he learns what true freedom is and have the planes walker debate they should or should not rather the red mental flesh creatures should exist in the multiverse because over Urabrask had grown and helped them.
      Perhaps at the for his services he is set to a plane with volcano, and he can build is his new home inside of it and what if he made a pact with planeswalker that he will not expand his home unless people are willing to be like him and Urabrask promise will help the planeswalker whenever a new threat comes his way.
      If it was written right, I would love is Urabrask vs Bolas at his weak state.

    Will would come upon the area wary. Drawing his sword and conjuring an ice shield,he would come upon a bizzare creature to him...the thing that was layed before him was a draconic...or something creature of otherworldly metal and fire. It had no eyes,at least not visibly, but the creature looked at him.
    "Who...are...you." the creature spat.
    "I am high king will kenrith. You...wait. your one of Them arent you?"
    "Not quite...you seek someone,dont you...ngh..."
    "How did you know...?"
    "I see your erratic mind as if it was mine. And i...can help you. Find her..."
    "...you know how to find rowan?"
    "Yes...i sense her mana...and she is slowly losing herself...to madness and power..."
    "And why should i believe you?"
    "I am not the same as the creatures you faced. I desire chaos and freedom in all aspects. Our goals align. And i will not last long even if you didnt agree seeing as that fool of a chronomancer sucseeded in playing god. Help me...and i will help you find rowan kenrith. And then i will leave this plane."
    Will hesitated for a moment. He should end it now,these horrors were responsible but... could it be telling the truth?
    Will would conjure an set of limbs made of ice that perfect fit the praetor,allowing the traitor to stand.
    "Prove it then. Where do we begin?"
    "Uphold your end of the bargain,then we can do so."
    "...very well. For now anyways. Do you have a name,Phyrexian?"
    "I have many. In my tounge,i am known as the fire of betrayal. To my perfected,i am known as the visionary of the great work. To your kind,i am dubbed Urabrask."
    Will turned to his guard.
    "Escort him somewhere covert. And have a few magi join me later on this week. We have work to do,for now anyways."
    "If it makes you feel better human,i swear by my nature my bargain is true." Urabrask says with hints of sarcasm,yet there was a geniune speech to it.
    "Words get only so far. Prove it."
    To be continued...
