autumn / winter is definitely the vibe. Summer is too hot, when it's winter you can put a jumper on and feel cosy, but when it's too hot you're just a puddle of sweat and apathy
Haha, I feed my kids and grandchildren. If they don't want it I offer them stuff to take home. Even when I had just one chicken pie in my freezer I offered them that 😂 just take our food 😂
As a Scot I’d say people don’t use our word for cigarettes as an excuse to use the hard “F”. Like there are definitely some homophobic people, but they generally express their homophobia using different slurs, the F word is almost entirely associated with cigarettes here. Like I grew up around people casually using homophobic insults, but I didn’t even know the F word was a homophobic slur till I was 13 or something
Ive legit never thought about the fact that the word can be a slur 😅 as a smoker in scotland its just second nature to say it and its so normal in conversation. People use different slurs instead if they are being homophobic
@@shlarla Fellow Scot here. I used to work with some lads from Newcastle and Leeds many years ago. They always referred to cigarettes as tabs and I sort of picked it up and have used it ever since. I've always considered the homophobic F word to be very American. I was at school in Denny the 80s and there were the usual slurs implicating someone's sexual preferences but I honestly never heard anyone use that word as a homophobic slur. I think I probably first heard it used that way on one of those awful, 80's, American teen movies

4:25 I believe the word f** for a cigarette came from the old English/ old French word f***** which is sometimes called a short f*****, (As a unit of measurement) a f***** of sticks equals a bundle of wood sticks or billets that is 3 feet (90 cm) in length and 2 feet (60 cm) in circumference. A f***** was also a unit of weight used to measure iron or steel rods or bars totalling 120 pounds (54 kg) also f*****s in Bristol are Pork meat balls (not too sure historically why)
even though I took care to censor myself, I do apologies if youre offended to read this, Its not my intention to cause harm or distress and I spoke purely on an educational sense.
Even when the word was first used in a derogatory sense, it was actually used to refer to an old person that was a burden on their family as opposed to its more modern American usage as an homophobic insult. The reason for this was because by that time the longer form of the word “F**” was used to refer to a bundle of sticks, which would be “burdensome” to carry

I prefer winter, if it was up to me we would only have winter. I am allergic to pollen and grass, the sun gives me rashes and mosquito bites itches for weeks because I am so damn sensitive to them. No one in the UK had had a McFlurry for like 15years. They all stopped using the stirring machine that gave the McFlurry it's name and just kinda stired them slightly by hand instead. They don't even do that now, they can't thanks to the new cardboard spoons.

This kind of perpuated within British boarding school environments, where older boys would take younger students as servants, and their duties were said to include acts of a certain nature, which had a similar name to the term, because the young boys were "poor" looking for menial work.
Then there's the more classical approach of a cigarette, long and thin object, going in your mouth, borrowing the shortened form of it and using it as an insult.
to answer your question, i frequently visit the uk on holiday from america… i also hate london, only go there for the airport. i spend most of my time in newcastle bc i have friends there and i enjoy the nightlife and feel safe there. also we don’t have nandos really except for a few locations in the washington dc area and a few in texas and chicago i think. big fan of nandos, so that’s a reason for me to visit the uk. mostly i just go for concerts bc im a big andrew cushin fan and he’s from newcastle so i go to his gigs there. also im a vegan and the uk is way more vegan friendly than the states
can't believe it cam mate. standing on three drains, even if you only stand on one square is bad luck. you can never walk over 3 grids but you always have to walk over 2 grids because they are good luck, evens and odds hey. do agree with the winter take too, would rather put an extra hoodie on then be sweating out my arse even with no clothes on xD
My day is better now a cam kirkham video is here ❤
Tourists come to the UK for the history, sightseeing and visiting family members. that's about it
As an American, I think some of the draw to the UK is that a large portion of our heritage is British.
Plus, white cliffs of Dover are pretty cool
0:17 is that smithys big pal at the end 😂😂😂
4:41 everyone take a wild guess where cam is from 😂
I prefer winter, if it was up to me we would only have winter. I am allergic to pollen and grass, the sun gives me rashes and mosquito bites itches for weeks because I am so damn sensitive to them. And I have the heat resistance of an ice cub. Summer sucks.
Oh and I went to London because it was cheap, cold and close by. We did madame T which was fine, London eye and all the turisty stuff. It was fun simply because it was new and not Sweden, where I am from. My favorite was the Jack the Ripper tour tho. Saw all the murder places, had a drink at one of them.
No one in the UK had had a McFlurry for like 15years. They all stopped using the stirring machine that gave the McFlurry it's name and just kinda stired them slightly by hand instead.
They don't even do that now, they can't thanks to the new cardboard spoons.
The UK has a lot to offer for stay-cationers.... I suggest you and the lads try it!
My Mom hates the hot weather so we would have holidays in the UK, Scotland in particular - try it, you might enjoy it!
I’m a Californian and went to Britain for two weeks…SUNNY THE WHOLE TIME!! 😂
My wife’s mums from England were Australian and ever time we leave her house she’s loading me up with snacks
