Dude I was looking for those infected egg dudes when I first heard them in my DS3 run. That along with demon ruins was a blast from the past moment for me.
Mad Ghrus are one of the worst enemy types in the trilogy, i hate how janky their jumping grab attack is. The only thing worse than them are the damn Corvian knights, especially the crow qills version.
@@botondkunos1774 All grabs are "janky" (if the grab hits, you will "teleport" to the animation). You just noticed it more, because Mad Ghrus use the grab attack every chance they get.
@@exu7325 I know that, however Mad Ghrus have by far the jankiest of them all since they jump and have vertical arc to their grab animation. They can straight up avoid your attacks .
I really like how these videos show a much different reality compared to what we experience as players: -Leaper Ghru goes from deadly to harmless due to its grab attack not working. -Spear and Shield Ghru, usually easy to deal with, gives the Ghru some easy victories thanks to a plank of rotten wood and aggressive moveset. -Shotel and Greatshield man-serpent carries its team for a couple of rounds even tho it's probably the least dangerous variant to players. -Elder Ghru beating both versions of the giant man-serpents, arguably two of the deadliest enemies to players in the whole game. -Summoner man-serpent spawning Ricard outside of its intended area.
@@ddm_gamer they are. If your character uses a shield they'll get staggered when hitting it. If they don't, the only possibly dangerous attack they have is the 4 hit frenzy, which is really only dangerous if your cornered. I understand tho, different players have different experiences.
I'm pretty sure he was trying too, but since the Man Serpent he was fighting was carrying a greatshield the first hit of the combo bounced and it canceled the rest of the combo.

@@EchoBravo humanity is connected to the dragons though the pus of man. I say the Ghru are connected to dragons because they (almost) all have wings growing out of thier backs. Also, Hawkwoods questline shows that the Legion knew it was possible to become dragons.
@@jacobhoover1654 reminder that manus also has massive bone protrusions on his back, unless they are clarified to be wings we can assume they are not. there is not one mention in any item description that alludes to draconic influence but there are several for "farrons acolyte descendents" and the abyss itself.
Now that I got a closer look at those Gru enemies, they honestly remind me of Oolacile Township citizens/enemies from Dark Souls 1 (Bloatheads, I think, is what they're called).
As much fun as the boss vs boss videos are. I like these more. This is what I imagine the world of dark souls is really like, a bunch of various factions unwilling to build peace in a dying world. I imagine in areas where things like this would happen often, I think of squadrons of what we as players think of as weak or annoying enemies being the norm in hundreds of small scale battles all across the DS world. That each squad is it's own trained unit sent out questioning if they'll make it back, as they see another hoard of hollows moving about, as having a soul is a privilege, one that could be taken away at any moment.
The Dark Hand grab not working will probably be a huge liability, but if the army of the Abyss gets the Oolacile mages, it might hinge on whether their attack radius can stand up to the Silver Knight archers, whose aggro range and gear beat even Kalameet.
This is one of the most balanced fights I've seen :DD This could pass as an intentionally animated sequence to somebody who knows nothing about games. The hits and blocks are perfectly timed, unlike some of the boss fights where it is clear the enemy was designed to only attack a very small player character, not another behemoth.
Hold on WHAT!? Richardo Milos won the battle for the dragon wannabes?? As expected, he is too great for this world, maybe even the best. Rivalling Shrek in terms of skill.
A fight I would LOVE to see. The great war against the Abyss. The entire undead Legion: 75 Abyss watchers, about 10 of all Farron followers versions, The Cristal sage, All the Ghru's on the game **VS** Every Abyssal enemy in the game
We should remember that these ghrus are not in an optional place, after half of the game, but in Farron keep, a poisonous swamp of the first quarter of the game that slows you, poisons you, functions as a maze by its colours and serves as camouflage for the ghrus, they usually are not alone, but in groups. Still, i agree that the NPC the summoner snake uses are still the strongest ones.

Maybe it's because I hate Farron Keep and always try to rush through it, but I just realized that the tree the Elder Ghru is using to fight with looks like an ivory oolacile tree, which also explains why it can use magic and reinforces the connection to bloatheads.
And in the battle between snakes and goats, the winner is... PRINCE RICARD BABYYYYYY

If you play things right in the swamp due to the Darkwraith and Ghru being enemy factions you can make that fight happen, Elder Ghru won.
