gnocchi works really well without oil too and if you just roll it into a sausage, cut it into bits and then roll a fork over it you save lots of time with the same effect!
If you can, try not to put HOT stuff in the fridge/ freezer. It's super energy inefficient and can not only damage other produce in there, melts the freezer. This forces it to work harder too freeze and thus uses up more energy and so a greater carbon foot print. Know its not the biggest deal, just a small change if you can!
So for anyone wondering, I believe Earth Island is just the Canadian name for the brand Follow Your Heart. I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure its the same company
You should steam your milk first then pull the shot. Shots "die" after about 30 seconds of being pulled and standing alone so to get optimal flavor from your espresso you need to mix it into the milk asap.
this is a myth perpetuated by starbucks to make u work faster lol. the half life of caffeine is not ten seconds, you honestly have about five minutes before the flavor changes in the shot.
It's really not a myth. Of course the caffeine doesn't die, but the taste changes really quickly. Just give it a try and let your espresso shots sit for different amounts of time and see how the taste changes.
Your latte art looks like an apple! Instead of saying you failed at a heart, say you mastered the apple. The ridges on the gnocchi from the fork also make a little place for the sauce!
I love how your recipes are so very approachable. I just tried the gnocchi recipe and it was amazing. Thank you. Are your cookbooks available in the U.S?
Hi Liv! Just wondering if the recipe on the blog is correct. It says 4 large potatoes (approx 1lbs). I have a single potato here that already weights 1lbs. Are you sure the weight is correct? Thanks!
Liv your videos make me want to be vegan but unfortunately in the place where I live I can't easily find vegan options! All the meals are looking completely delicious!❤️🤤
Wtf, I'm so confused by your gnocchi recipe😂😂. Been making it the most traditional way since my stay at Rome and this is just so not traditional😅. Still, I've never been deceived by your recipes, so I'll give it a try.
Traditionally, are you supposed to bake the potato? I was wondering what the difference was between baking them to mash them vs. just boiling them, which is much faster
Omg that Gnocci dinner.😍 I recommend to "seal" the gnocci after cooking by putting them in a pan with a bit of oil. So good👌
I do that!! I keeps them from sticking to your mouth as you eat them lol
Just a heads up for any sauce lovers, this will ruin your sauce to gnocchi ratio bc the oil makes your sauce sort of fall right off! :/
@@jaquicx9500 If you dry them on a paper towel afterwards and then add them to the sauce, it will not happen most of the time. :)

I usually steam the milk while the espresso is dripping (I’m no expert though lol).

I worked all my life at restaurants and it really bothers me seeing people kneading with rings and stuff :(
I still love you liv
Ok
y?
@@carolinaroseakira bc its unsanitary, people can wash their hands often but rings hold bacteria and grime in there small cracks and crevices
Hey liv! Always love your videos! I was wondering if you still use your vitamix composter machine?
Coffee blocks absorption of some vitamins and minerals, be careful not to drink them too closely together!
this video was so calming
I am gluten intolerant, instead of flour what alternative would you suggest??? I do want to make them instead of buying the pasta
I find smoothies to be more tolerable in the cold months if I leave the bananas not frozen.

@@Myeolxmang Right? And she baked the potatoes and let them cool, like wtf?😂
Well, she didn't claim it was traditional. I believe she said a quick (and fun) gnocchi recipe.
@@Skater21Loverboyz I'm aware, didn't mean to tell her that she was wrong with any claim or so, just wanted to put that out there...
