    I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for these videos! My daughter was diagnosed with SCN8A genetic mutation which causes her to have epilepsy- numerous seizure types and now infantile spasms & very low tone. She is only 6 months old and because of COVID has not had therapy yet even though she should have been in in the last month. You are now our PT. I know these are older now but I hope you see this & continue sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I think my favorite was the ribs thing- I would have never known about that I don’t think. I work as an orthopedic RN on a surgical floor but I know nothing about babies. Lol. So just thank you! 💜

    Please inform us how old the baby is out of the womb when you do your videos. Is there a difference between premature babies and full terms?

    • @pediatricPTexercises
      @pediatricPTexercises  6 месяцев назад

      I believe she is 6 months old in this video. For children who are premature, you do a full correction of their age for the first year. This means you would expect 3 month old skills for a4 month old child who was 1 month premature. From 1-2 years of age you do a 1/2 correction. After 2 years, you no longer correct their age

    Question: how much more rest/sleep does low tone baby need?
    Should I wake her up for PT?!

    • @pediatricPTexercises
      @pediatricPTexercises  4 года назад

      Karen Kuo Very interesting question. I don’t know how much sleep a baby with low tone needs relative to a typical child. I’m afraid you’ll have to ask that question to someone else. I usually recommend that parents do exercises with their child when their baby is awake and alert and in a good mood. If you have concerns about how much your baby is sleeping, I would recommend you speak to your doctor.

      @pediatricPTexercises  7 лет назад

      Polneni Sowmya Hi, this is the 2nd request I have gotten to give treatment suggestions for a child with increased tone on his legs. It is very tricky in the United States. I am unable to video any of my personal clients or any client who goes to my clinic due to privacy concerns. This makes it very difficult for me to find children to videotape with special needs. I was very blessed when I found the Myla to videotape. I will keep my eyes and ears open for a child with increased tone to also videotape.
