From experience the white run is early December. Wouldn't bother getting up so early and wasting bait/fuel etc for 3 crays. I would be looking to put my pots out at the new moon towards the end of this month November. But hey if you can afford it and have the time, why not start now as they move inshore to shed there shell. Then when they walk out again you get full pots of whites 👌. When the whites run you can put your pots on the sand half way to five fathom bank and the walking crays love to take cover inside your pots🍻
i was bagging out daily before the full moon in november last year, they died off afterwards, cant rely on previous years, they could be early again this year
Yes, every year is different. This year we have had rain today lol and it felt like winter. The ocean is also a washing machine and if i had my pots in close targeting the reds they would most likely be stuck. Anyways after all this onshore wind, perhaps the first early morning easterly will persuade the whites to walk out with it 🤔. Best of luck 🍻
