Like you said, the Kingies are patrolling at depth, it saw your lure and thought hmmmm….. nice and easy! People probably think it’s no problem to feast in a situation like that, nature makes em school together like that for a darn good reason! Safety in numbers means a lot of different stuff, in this case it means difficult to zero in on your target! MY GOD THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!! I have one suggestion that you may have already tried. Why not send up a drone to hover above the casting area? The water is so clear that it would be cool to watch the fish going after the lure. These guys were swallowing the 5-7lb rats and stripys were were hooking up and gulping them while we tried to gaff dinner! It was as similar day, just mind blowing!

Whats wrong with using live bait? I love throwing plastics but usually when i do im already soaking two big baits for the best chance of big fish. Unless im bass fishing or moving i like to have as many rods in the water as possible, and you can really only fish one lure rod at a time

You can't beat a good day standing on a rock. I prefer to stand on the islands and use my boat to get to super remote zones. Chasing these big fish off the rocks is something you should give a go one day, it's hard to explain

Yeah man exactly, we couldn't believe it. We spent hours fishing there and the action was non stop all day with the workup around us
