The largest and most enigmatic of the penguins, the majestic Emperor is the only animal to breed in the harsh, cold, dark Antarctic winter. As recently so well depicted in the film 'March of the Penguins', when the Antarctic spring sun finally returns, the female Emperors return from the sea to relieve the males, who have spent the winter huddled together on the ice, incubating their single egg on their feet. These unique Icebreaker voyages plan to visit Snow Hill Island, in the northern Weddell Sea in early spring, when the chicks are starting to be fed by both parents. Watch and photograph their daily lives at close range, the adult's greeting and courtship displays, communal crèches of chicks, adults tobogganing on their bellies and you may even see them shoot in and out of the sea at the ice edge! The icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov will approach to the area as close as it can get allowing for ice and weather conditions and then three days are planned with the Emperors themselves, flying in close to the colony by helicopter and then a walk to the birds themselves. The planned landing site is 2.4kms (1.5miles) from the colony. All operations will be conducted with the welfare of the colony (estimated to be 4000 pairs) first and foremost and strict rules on passenger conduct at the colony will apply.!

I love Emperor Penguins. The parents are very devoted parents and the chicks are so damn adorable. How anyone can not like them is way beyond me. I would love to have 1 for my own and raise it. I am sure it would be hard because the chicks are so demanding but it would be worth it in the end :)

Undoubtedly penguins are beautiful and unique in their characteristics but pigeons and ducks are more adorable.. Their innocent actions are so cute loving and incomparable especially when they do grooming of their feathers using beautiful beaks and their gesture becomes so loving when they move theirs necks to analyse the thing, situation and in search of foods.. Really unmatchable and Allah's beautiful creation..

Wish there was no music, don’t be a dork and say just mute it, cuz then there wouldn’t be the penguin sounds! But I get it, that’s not the kind of video they wanted to make, they wanted a video with music to it. I just wish they had a different idea in mind lol, as in, showing the penguins just as they are- no music. But it’s cool, like I said I get it, that’s what they wanted to make.
This is an example of evolutiion at its finest. The survival of the species. They have adapted to their environment in such an amazing way. The fathers endure starvation and cold for months on end to protect their offspring and ensure the continuation of their species. It couldn't be done any other way in this environment. How beautiful and elegant nature is.

I know penguins stink but their babies are absolutely fluffy, soft-looking and darling. I always wonder how it feels like to cuddle a baby emperor penguin. My baby sister has an emperor penguin plushie, who she named snowball.
