I seen this alot of gameplay from Madden players not Madden fanboy influencers because they are not going to say nothing. Poor tackling AI on defense players is terrible and they still using that old Frostbite engine over a decade. The reviews are out for Madden and they are poor again. If Madden was alive I will take my name leave EA and go to a publisher like 2k that care about gameplay. SoftDrinkTV did his review on Madden 24 and he was on point again.

If Madden were actually good and properly coded, I could see it. But as it stands there's a 0% chance it would be more than a total waste of time. Too many bugs, nonsense logic, and broken animations. When Madden were first created it was intended as a way to teach people football. Now it just teaches people not to play Madden

As bad as everything is that you pointed out, it’s also notable at the end there when you’re discussing 14s bizarre movement, as bizarre as it would be in a vacuum, at one point he’s right next to the player that winds up chasing down the ball carrier. All he would’ve had to do is slightly chip him, and he would’ve slowed him down enough to prevent him from catching the ball carrier. Instead, he did what a lot of lead blockers do, and go right next to somebody, but not even do enough to slow them down one bit Edit- and it would be so much more forgivable in that case If he makes an illegal block at some point, than not doing anything. These plays happen so fast that even the smartest players can make an inadvertent illegal block, but who in that situation would do nothing, especially when given the chance to make such an obvious LEGAL block
Game is 🗑️.I was up 21 to 13. On the 1 yard line. Threw a quick pass to Ekeler. Justin Herbert always makes those throws. Now in 24 he overthrows him & it's picked off. I get 3 chances on 1 drive to end the game. I drop all 3 picks. He scores. I get the ball back to take it down the field. I get within 30 yards to kick a game with a field goal. I get hit and fumble. Game goes to overtime. He scores first. Again I get the ball to run it. I fumble again. Game over. That should never happen That was the most unrealistic thing ever
That's... not actually unrealistic. Extremely unlucky? Yes. It's also a bit unfair to work that hard only for the game to just fuck you over so blatantly yet treat your opponent with all kinds of respect.

Basing a physics dependent sport like football on any engine that is not physics-based is the antithesis of incompetence if your goal is to make a simulation football video game. The only thing Madden simulates is gambling. And THAT is the only simulation EA truly cares about. The NFL should be ashamed to have their license attached to this nonsense. It’s a disgrace.
Giving the players skeletons is so 2000s lmao, look at what GTA 4 did with the Euphoria physics on people models, that's _still_ way more advanced than Madden, and that was 15 years ago.

They need to rebuild the code from scratch. Having entry level devs try to mess with code that not only isn't theirs, but code that's more than 12 years old is a recipe for disaster. That and moving away form Frostbite, yes. I dunno why they left the Creation Engine when that did very well for Madden. Or hell, pay to use Unreal 4 (or U5 now).

I feel really bad for the developers, because: 1) A good AAA game requires at least 18 months dev time. Even a game like Legend Bowl requires a long amount of time (and it has its own AI and gameplay issues). But not only do these devs have less than 12 months dev time, but a significant chunk of that time is spent fixing large bugs post-release. And they can't tackle minor bugs or fix things like AI because they simply HAVE NO TIME. 2) The devs know how to make a good football game. They really do. But they do what they're told. They're told by non-programmers and very often executives who don't know anything about videogames what to do. Then they're instructed to lie by marketing to tow the line. They know they're making shit, but they can't say anything because they value their jobs and development is extremely competitive.
Agreed, at this point - they are lacking he time needed to really "make a change" and instead are stuck into super tight 6 month windows that prolly dont allow much. Then dependant on patching the game.
This happened to me last night on a qb sack I couldn't get the ball because my qb started throwing his hands in the air, I was locked on that player and couldn't switch and the defender took it to the house

I can't even play superstar mode. I create a player and the mode won't start up for me. I went to EA support, and their response was to exit out the game and try again in 30 minutes. EA should just make the game free and make the money off their microtransactions like they normally do.

the fumble in the endzone is horrible, it was TD regardless once he crossed the goaline and instead just gave him a fumble from the animation in motion, and the #14 Metcalf (non) blocking going up and down and running around like a crazy man was just horrible...incredible flaws.
Apart from the.gameplay, graphically the game looks at a high level, modeling, cinematics, etc, but I don't understand the reason why the natural grass is so perfect, without bald spots, when in any NFL broadcast we can see that the pitches are irregular. Obviously, I don't mean Bills Stadium, that has artificial turf. Thanks for objectively punishing EA.

Whats crazy is, it shouldn't have even been a fumble. The ball broke the goaline already. Even in a struggle it goes to the offense. Smh. Game is trash. When The RB is running across the field and the defense is running towards him, the players dont "crash" into each other. Also the Ref looks like she is running into a wall for a lil bit. Feet are moving but the body isnt. Madden is horrible and its sad to know.
I can’t take anyone who says this game is an improvement seriously. It’s like they’re reading off some brand approved script. All the promised blocking improvements are non-existent. Defending heavy runs with Dime/Dollar packages still works. Defenders don’t read and only react unrealistically, for better or worse.

I can't even play superstar mode. I create a player and the mode won't start up for me. I went to EA support, and their response was to exit out the game and try again in 30 minutes. EA should just make the game free and make the money off their microtransactions like they normally do.

This is pathetic. Really. It's 2023 and a sports game plays THIS BADLY made by one of the biggest companies out there WITH THE NFL LICENSE.
They put this game out knowing these issues are there, cause they were there last year. They never got removed and won't be. This is a busted ass game with a foundation that's only getting worse the more they keep adding on top of it. This game shouldn't be applauded for adding refs back in. THIS IS A SIMULATION NFL PRODUCT THAT THEY SHOULD'VE NEVER BEEN REMOVED FROM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

the fumble in the endzone is horrible, it was TD regardless once he crossed the goaline and instead just gave him a fumble from the animation in motion, and the #14 Metcalf (non) blocking going up and down and running around like a crazy man was just horrible...incredible flaws.

Apart from the.gameplay, graphically the game looks at a high level, modeling, cinematics, etc, but I don't understand the reason why the natural grass is so perfect, without bald spots, when in any NFL broadcast we can see that the pitches are irregular. Obviously, I don't mean Bills Stadium, that has artificial turf.

Please please PLEASE mention how in every year of Madden since at least '15 the cpu AI NEVER covers the under route receiver and you can literally call the same play on all madden difficulty and dink it to the same receiver for 7-8 every play and never call anything else. It ruins any game against the CPU in any mode...I'm literally going to just play Legend Bowl and Axis because this is disgusting

Whats crazy is, it shouldn't have even been a fumble. The ball broke the goaline already. Even in a struggle it goes to the offense. Smh. Game is trash. When The RB is running across the field and the defense is running towards him, the players dont "crash" into each other. Also the Ref looks like she is running into a wall for a lil bit. Feet are moving but the body isnt. Madden is horrible and its sad to know.

All the promised blocking improvements are non-existent. Defending heavy runs with Dime/Dollar packages still works. Defenders don’t read and only react unrealistically, for better or worse.

How come all the QBs have sprinter speed to get outside the pocket to the sideline?
Because EA only caters to highlight football and most people had fun playing as Mike VIck back in the day - so now all QB's must act this way.
