This boot and that FG2 sole are/were definitely designed and presented as for multi-terrain hiking. I got the Low model from ReVivo and so far they are great on my gravel/rocky logging-road trails, and at the same time smooth on the asphalt road. The knit sections do let the water in, say going through high, wet grass & weeds. The boot version is leather over the top of the foot, where my low model has knit there, so your boots will probably do better keeping wet out. I won't be using mine in cold, wet autumn & early winter weather.
Yes these soles, and uppers, look like they will cope really well with hiking as well as looking smart enough to wear in the city too. I haven’t had an opportunity to take them out for a decent hike yet, but when I’m back in the UK I’ll definitely be putting them through their paces. Those look absolute Bobby Dazzlers, Ash! It'll be interesting to see how you get on with them, as I think Vivo have really upped their game on some of their morerugged offerings in the last year or two. I'm of the same opinion with the Trackers - I sent mine back after a month as i had numerous issues with them. Their replacements were the Magna Forest Esc and they have been superb.
Bobby Dazzlers 🤣 haven’t heard that in years! My old manager at DFS called any shirt that wasn’t white or blue ‘Bobby Dazzler dancing shirts’ and told us not to wear them for work. I’d come from working at Next and had pink, purple, lilac, sage green shirts with matching ties and wore them all at one time or another. Don’t think he liked me 🤣🤣🤣 The Magna Forest are a lovely looking shoe with that Michelin sole 👌 Hopefully these Decon will be good too, they fit a whole lot better than Trackers and are much easier to get on and off 👍
I’ve both the Vivo Magna and Forest ESC so cannot justify the Decons. A nice feature of those is like the ESC, the sole is actually stitched on for durability. The Tracker II sole isn’t, and a few folk have had delamination issues. I’ll be interested to hear how the grip is, as the ESC Michelin sole is their most aggressive. A white sole would be instantly brown where I go 🐏💩🐄😂
So far I’ve taken them for a hike through IKEA 🤣 so trapsing through a different kind of 💩 🤣 I’m wondering whether to keep these for urban environments and get something different for actual wild walks. I haven’t really been ‘out out’ in the Trackers because I don’t find them comfy, could be a sizing issue. I originally ordered a 42 (same as my Primus Trail shoes which fit perfectly) and they were way too small so sized up and they feel pretty big. I do really like the look of the Forest Escape they are a great looking boot.
@@skinnylegsbarefootshoes IKEA market place can be brutal 🤣 The Tracker II are universally snug / low volume across the top of the foot, they’re like a half size too small. I think you’d like the Forest ESC for wilder walks though. Insanely grippy and waterproof. And tall enough to do the Rambo Tuck-In with trousers 🥷🏻😄
Yes I ran in Altra shoes before getting into barefoot shoes. Had the Superior and Torin and Escalante Racers - liked them all. Put the most miles in the Torin 4 than any other running shoe, but fell out of love with them with the Torin 5. Never tried their boots though. Any you recommend? 👍
No apology needed if you don’t like the colour - you don’t like the colour 😊 There isn’t any pink though, it’s orange, but they are completely different to the Tracker 2 that I have bought these to replace. I think these look more at home in the city than on the trails but I’ll be using them on both to see how they stand up 👍

I actually have used the tracker 2:s for fours months straight now through fall and winter and they are really nice. Unfortunately they delaminate easily and I've been looking at these as a replacement. I can only get my hands on this colourway. I really liked the JJF models...perhaps it comes back next fall😊

My wife has them and wears them from October to around now each year and they fit her and look great - they look even better with a bit of wear in them imo. I checked out the JJF colour way in these too they are really cool. The main thing that swayed me to these in this colour was the price 🤷♂️ was thinking how much I’d get second hand for my Trackers and these Decon seemed to tick the boxes 😁

Have you ever tried Altra shoes / boots? I have always got on with Altras pretty well but never tried Vivos.
