I totally agree. To be honest, I always hated Hotaru 😂 I didn't like that his moves were so slow. But I grew to like him in Deception's Konquest mode. Seeing how Netherealm has reimagined all these old fighters makes me excited to see him again.
I’ve been praying for Jataaka in a modern game of MK for years now; she gives me Storm/ Kida (Atlantis) vibes😭 all three sisters have such good plot potential though, but I doubt it’ll ever happen lmao
My number one choice is Wu Lae from MK: Armageddon. The Orange Ninja and leader of the Tengu clan of ninjas who are rivals with the Lin Kuei and is themed around crows.
Bro Wu Lae would be really cool, especially with his use of the tekko-kagi claws and the scythe. Although I think it would also be cool to see who their grandmaster could have been, perhaps they could be an actual Tengu!
Zeebron seems like a fun idea. We need more stage magicians in fighting games. Sidenote, I'm definitely playing as Nitara if I play this game (I'm a sucker for vampire girls. pun intended)
I could see Zeebron taking some inspiration from the Mask, having the same violently cartoonish toon force kind of abilities to go alongside his potential showman-like magician tricks and abilities, especially since a literal zebra magician is a pretty zany idea, so why not commit to the ridiculousness?
NRS only includes characters based on the Pro gaming circuits so having these character playable is officially a pipe dream. however Its refreshing to see someone finally make a list that is not just 2D era characters - The characters I want to see shown off are - Kahil Grigesh (Male counterpart to Nitara), Lord Argus, Lady Delia, NoFace, Quinn, Tasia, Fire God Earth God Water God The Great Kung Lao The Undead General Of Onaga, The Lin Kuei Grandmaster (Sektor's father) Gemini Jataaka. Kia. These are not even concept art they are part of the game. Kahil Grigesh was the first weilder of Ashrahs sword Kriss.

I can't think of any others besides him, but I like how the cartoon treated him like a guy who was always around without much exposition. Made the world-building feel more natural. I liked the flashbacks to King Jerrod and Kitana in Edenia in that episode.

Although I think another pretty cool idea could be Calypso being a playable fighter, maybe using the other combatants from his Twisted Metal tournaments to aid him for his moveset along with using some of his own stuff such as the Palpatine-style lightning, hexes and all that. I could see him being comparable to that of Shang Tsung himself, a cunning manipulator with supernatural abilities. I see it now that you mention it! The animation for the last episode of the series, when he appeared, was done by a different studio than the rest of the series, so maybe they shared some animators.

The full story is in college, we had a British friend who would talk with an American accent for most of the time, but after vacations when she went home, she slipped in and out of her British accent. My friend, Graham, her, and me participated in a campus-wide game called "Humans vs Zombies." When she was someone who ended up being on the winning side, Graham was amazed at how she managed to "survive" in the game and kept bringing it up to a point where she got annoyed and slipped into her British accent and said his name multiple times, so it sounded like "Gr-ahm" and evolved into "Grum," so we had the running gag of us saying "Grum." There's my full story on why Grum is so funny to me.
If I was covering character who were playable in the past, both would likely be on the list! I've always thought Drahmin was one of the best 3D era designs and Moloch seems fun to play with his giant ball thingy.

I'd still say canonically dead characters can still work as DLC, such as Mileena in MK11, but I wrote the list before the game came out, so I probably would've leaned more into the Triborg angle for how to get them back to incorporate the dead characters into a playable moveset (like how Sektor was technically dead, so Triborg borrowed his moves). I think knowing they're dead, I'd say Sareena could be playable as an amalgamation character that uses the weapons of Kia and Jataaka.
Good list but seriously no Siro from Mortal Kombat Konquest, the GREATEST Mortal Kombat character? For shame man for shame. He's way cooler then the bird guy... well not really but still come on man Siro.
Kintaro burned kabal in mk9 and died in the x comics and come 11 Kano lied to past kabal that Sonya burned him when she was one of the people who killed kintaro in the comics while under control of blood magic and I feel that clearing up that lie could have changed past kabal’s allegiance since he has always been a grey character
MK has generally been pretty good about referencing their lesser discussed characters in alternative media, like how Jataaka is confirmed to be in the upcoming Johnny Cage animated movie this year.

As it could lead to the developers seeing the reactions towards certain individuals in them that could lead to them possibly making a decision to include them in future games, possibly, I don't know how it honestly works to be honest.
While they're almost definitely different characters, it's a new timeline, so they could combine character backstories to get in more past lore references.

If I was covering character who were playable in the past, both would likely be on the list! I've always thought Drahmin was one of the best 3D era designs and Moloch seems fun to play with his giant ball thingy.

If Sareena was a based roster fighter I would love to see Kia and Jataka act as assists to her normal moves as you explained but Kameos kinda ruined that

I'd still say canonically dead characters can still work as DLC, such as Mileena in MK11, but I wrote the list before the game came out, so I probably would've leaned more into the Triborg angle for how to get them back to incorporate the dead characters into a playable moveset (like how Sektor was technically dead, so Triborg borrowed his moves). I think knowing they're dead, I'd say Sareena could be playable as an amalgamation character that uses the weapons of Kia and Jataaka.

Kintaro burned kabal in mk9 and died in the x comics and come 11 Kano lied to past kabal that Sonya burned him when she was one of the people who killed kintaro in the comics while under control of blood magic and I feel that clearing up that lie could have changed past kabal’s allegiance since he has always been a grey character

MK has generally been pretty good about referencing their lesser discussed characters in alternative media, like how Jataaka is confirmed to be in the upcoming Johnny Cage animated movie this year.
@@MrTopTenList I am aware, and if that is the case, then that might be a good place for them to be showcased. As it could lead to the developers seeing the reactions towards certain individuals in them that could lead to them possibly making a decision to include them in future games, possibly, I don't know how it honestly works to be honest.

While they're almost definitely different characters, it's a new timeline, so they could combine character backstories to get in more past lore references.
