This being generous. I’m guessing maybe cents if not losing money. He drives there, spends gas, a few hours buying, taking home, ship prep, shipping etc. A couple months later he sells 10 units $10 profit if lucky all for 2.5 hours of work. So worth it!

UPS Ground Shipping from Chicago to New York for a box of those dimensions is $16.95. +$28.99 cost and your profit is $3.64, 7% margin. They will absolutely not approve Costco invoice. Plus, that’s only if people buy the crap you’re selling. Just having an app that tell you “potentially” how much you can make is garbage.

    • @dpsheals

@CLand1Nation he's on FBA program with Amazon and so he's paying about .50 to .80 per lb thru the UPS partnership with Amazon sellers. Once he ships it whichever warehouse they tell him to, he's done. Amazon takes over the shipping and customer service. Those Amazon boxes and packes you think you're getting are NOT from Amazon. Probably from this guy or the other 2.5 million of us selling on the platform. only 4 out of 10 things you buy from Amazon are actually from Amazon. he's also not buying anything that won't turn a profit within a certain time frame cuz hes using what ALL sellers are using. Keepa. Thats the hack. without that, you're selling blindly. Keepa tells you price history, how fast or slow it sells and at what time of the year the price is the highest. Unlike ebay, you have little data to go by to know if what you have will sit or fly off the shelf. Seller Amp will also give you a leg up on selling as well

Your essentially just shipping it to a local Amazon warehouse and the seller app calculates the amount of money based off the closest location to you. So I don’t see this being expensive, then Amazon handles it from there making the consumer pay the higher shipping price or if they have prime then it’s indirectly being paid for. Amazon makes crazy money off the people with memberships I’m pretty sure they will try and make it as easy as possible for sellers to do what they need.

Ok shipping for a product that heavy is at least $15.00 and amazon fees are going to be about $10.00 so the cheapest you can sell this product and make a $3.00 profit margin is going to be at about $57.00.
You’ll prob always be selling your items from Costco at around $10.00 or $15.00 more than the cheapest seller for that product on Amazon and you might still win the buy box but it won’t last long. Just when you start to think sales are picking up and thinking you should buy in bulk your sales will randomly plummet back to zero for weeks.
One way to increase your odds of getting sales would be to keep adding to your inventory and looking for ways to decrease cost either from finding good specials or ordering truck loads from a local distributor or direct from the manufacturer.

Would that be by him shipping through a commercial shipping rate? If so, how do I get a commercial shipping rate to ship through Amazon? Does it come automatically with the seller account?

First so you have to get approved, might have to get approved to sell it that’s a first mistake influencers make. I was on the radio about this about reselling and shipping and I need to watch little bit more but if you’re gonna encourage people to sell you need to do it correct. The post office will not except they’ll except the order, but they will not ship it because it weighs a lot it’s not like a book or a game.

It’s weird how freight pricing is structured but obviously shipping through Amazon would be quite beneficial to your profit margins.

You are definitely doing it wrong then. I am an online seller and it would be $5 to ship dress shirts , use your own box and shipping will be cheap. NEVER overnight , if you have a heavy package purchase a prepaid label online via Goshippo or Pirate ship and just print it out and put it on your package and it’ll be 60-70% cheaper then the rates you get in store or even online if you aren’t doing it right.

They won’t. They’re making their money without having to hire people to do that side of business for them. They have deals with these brands and probably get things a lot cheaper than most stores just because the quantity of which they’re buying product. If they want to “dropship” anything they might as well start an online business and then the products wouldn’t be worth it to buy from Costco and then your membership is worthless.
