I'm so happy to see this RepComm design getting some love, it's always been one of my favorites ever since I first used it in the game's multiplayer back in the day.
You have inspired me to make customs i strated making a custom today it's a commander clone wars commander ponds in scale 3.75 very cool vid great custom😊
@@haminatorainz7227 I've never played mass effect before so probably not. However I do love Halo and I have a set of Jazwares Noble team I need to repaint so maybe those one day
Hey there! Amazing video! Amazing custom! Really love it! One thing I'd suggest would be to focus the light more on the parts you're painting since it's a little dark and hard to see the details of what you're paint, especially on darker shaded armor parts! Would love to see more soon! Cheers!
Thanks mate I appreciate the feedback, I agree it's a little dark to see sometimes what's going on due to lack of light. Unfortunately it's just due to the very small setup I have at the moment and the next video will be like that as it's already prerecorded. However, I am in the process of making my setup much larger so this problem will be fixed soon!
I learn so much from your videos! This custom came out great and this video was very helpful! Thanks for spending the time to make content for us! I really appreciate these vids
No problem mate, thank you for watching and supporting! The content is sparse at the moment as the videos take up so much time but I'll continue to be putting out videos whenever I can :D
@@bebbart I feel that man. I’m having a hard time making content too. They take awhile. But if you need help lmk and maybe I can do some editing for you
I've only made 1 before and i would need to perfect the recipe to make a video on it, hopefully after my next commission on one I'll be able to share you guys how to make my best version
I always try to look at the positives and I know a lot of people that have entered the hobby due to the poor effort given to Hasbro's commandos. So even though they're really bad, it's also introduced a lot of new people into the hobby which is cool
There's a reason why I don't use magnets for backpacks if they're not gonna be swapped is I hollow out the print so I save resin and also the figure is not heavy on the back, as it's hollow it's difficult to put a magnet on without the print protruding out so there's a little method in my madness 😂
Bebb, dawg, I cannot believe I haven't ever heard your voice before this very moment 🤣💀 why did I assume you would have an American accent until now, everyone in the GC is from all over the world LoL.
Thanks mate! I use fine tip brushes from Amazon, just whatever is cheapest at the time, brand named brushes don't do anything better in my overall opinion and the cheap ones last just as long if they're well looked after.
What clone body do you use as the base for your customs? Also as a challenge I would like to see what you can make by customising a black series arc trooper, but ONLY 3d printing parts you need! So the body, weapons and helmet must be original and can only 3d print what you wish to add to your trooper
I use KO Aliexpress 2020 mold clone troopers for the majority of my customs, especially for the commandos as that's the body that fits the 3d printed parts the best. Interesting challenge I'll 100% be doing some challenge based videos in the future so that can go onto the list
I know how wrong this is going to sound lol but what type of paint brushes do you use? All of mine are very soft and floppy and it’s hard to paint straight lines and small details
I use thin fine tip brushes, just whatever is the cheapest on Amazon at the time, expensive brushes dont do anything different and last just as long if well looked after
Yeah there's a pretty huge difference, it may not be noticeable without seeing one or even both in hand but the Hasbro commandos are really poor, they're not beefy, they're missing so much detail and paint applications. I wish I had them at hand to show you guys the massive differences.
Yes, the paint is thinned, meaning it's mixed with water, this is so that the paint is applied in thin even coats so all the designs are shown of the armour and not clogged up with paint, painting without thinning down your paints can also show brush strokes which isn't very nice to look at
The key for me is using a thin brush and making sure the wash is very watery without making the paint look diluted, so keep adding water and stop just before the paint starts to loose it's colour
@@bebbart dude anything you make is the best period, we are here to support your amazing work we don’t care if the vid isn’t the best quality haha it will do! :) keep up the vids
Good question, theres a few reasons for this. Currently these bodies are cheaper than the black series commandos and I would also be reconstructing it the exact same way be removing and dremeling the same parts as I much prefer the 3d printed kit, lastly the kit is kind of designed for the clone base bodies so I'm totally unsure if the kit would work for the black series commandos, it probably would but I haven't tested that yet.
There's a site I use that's called something like 3d design (I forget the actual name) and I used that, it's not 100% accurate for all of its models but it's as close as you can get without looking at 1000 images 😂

Great work! These look really nice! Did you do just 1 coat of paint?
Around 3 coats depending on the colour
What type/brand brushes do you use? Fantastic work!

I have a question. Why not using a black series commando figure instead of all that? Is there a difference?
Yeah there's a pretty huge difference, it may not be noticeable without seeing one or even both in hand but the Hasbro commandos are really poor, they're not beefy, they're missing so much detail and paint applications. I wish I had them at hand to show you guys the massive differences.
Great video ! But why is your paint transparent, do you mix it with water? (If yes, why)

Ok Thanks@@bebbart
You can make a tutorial video to make a scout trooper clone (with the 3d kit) Please 🙏❤
I sure can, i'm hoping to make some Kashyyyk scout troopers pretty soon
What do you use to hold each piece while you apply the primer?
I use either crocodile clips or blu tac depending on the part as some are really small
how do you get such crisp and thin lines with panel lining? mine always comes out thick and blotchy ):
The key for me is using a thin brush and making sure the wash is very watery without making the paint look diluted, so keep adding water and stop just before the paint starts to loose it's colour
@@bebbart i see, thank you! i’ll give that a try. that definitely might be the issue because i noticed my brush dries up lol

Why not just start with the blank commando black series? It seems like it would be easier than changing the p1 clone
