I noticed you ride an actual Appletree dedicated prone board (Skipper) in at least another video. What do you feel is different on this one one apart from the volume? I ask because I have a 50L V3 for winging but I took it out once to learn prone. But I'm having trouble paddling it in. Like, it feels like it paddles much slower than my actual surfboards, yet those float even less.
Yea I use to have a skipper prone board, I think for pure performance the skipper is best board but I wanted a bit more paddle speed to move into position to catch waves whilst keeping the performance. I think my custom appleslice is a perfect balance of everything. I haven’t paddled the wing board but I would imagine all that width wouldn’t paddle fast through the water. Hope that makes sense 🤙🏼
@@110SurfingTechniques1 Can I ask what width you went for? I did try and prone my 50L V3 but it doesn't paddle as well as the volume would suggest. It's 20.75" stock. I'm willing to bet a 45L, or 40L version at 19" and maybe an inch longer would paddle better even with less volume.
Sounds good 👍🏼, I weigh around 175 pounds for reference. And my surfboard volume is 31-33L, compared to my appleslice foil board 36L. My skipper was 31L. Also worth popping an email to Appletree for advice because they did some design changes for my prone apple slice V3
@@110SurfingTechniques1 Nice, I'm planning on ordering a custom dims V3 in 65L as an every day wing board. My 50L V3 is awesome, but of course, you need decent wind.
Wow, smooth riding
Thanks 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Oh, Nevermind. I see you posted dims in the description. Thanks!
I think I would personally do 4'9" x 19 x 45L for my 185lbs and less prone skills.

Custom V3? That size is not even on the Appletree site. Nice.
Yep custom dims 🤙🏼
