I feel like there should be more ways to earn points. Obviously finishing the fastest should give you the most points, but maybe you get minor points from things like final score or least amount of items?

I think duos could bring a lot of variety and strategy to this format! Having a teammate and dividing stage coverage and loot distribution would be so interesting. Maybe that would just be a 2v2 as to not overwhelm the casters with 8 players but anything could work.
It's really cool watching the runners start to understand that every one of them could possibly throw. Honestly watching cope runs is super interesting

(such as the one that revives you but adds 5 mins to the timer) cuz i actually want to try this out with my friends, it sounds fun! (if the mod is already public, please tell me its name)
In what scenario would you want the revive item, by the looks of it, it is just infinite revives with a visual only change to timer, it does not seem to increase difficulty, if it did it would snowball into impossible to win soon enough.

I love how much more shelf life these races have given RoR2. It is really cool to see the pros go head to head and I'd imagine it's getting many others who have previously not done Eclipse to try it out and get a feel for what, at least to me, is the true heart of the game. The challenge and reward on Eclipse beats out every other way I've played the game, even on harder modded difficulties.
Woolie, thanks for explaining the game and items well. Good call outs and explanations of strats, challenges, advantages. Along with keeping nickname/shortnames of items to a minimum. Your commentary is way more accessible to the general public compared to the other shoutcaster.

A neat video idea would be to see you or others play ror2 on console/controller. It would be interesting to see how much of your game knowledge vs mechanical skill with mouse and keyboard plays a factor. I imagine a good portion of the audience plays on console/controller, so it might draw some views. Just a thought, loving the races!

They went in on Cap specifically for this because (at the time) they were supposed to check in with admin to see if they could concede, as they aren't supposed to concede unless somebody has already completed the run (which the mod now prevents them from doing). Before this race, Cap put out a list of rules that *HE* wrote and emphasised not conceding without checking if they could first and then did it anyway. We're all friends and it wasn't serious, but we have made sure not to let him hear the end of it ever since

if you hit him with enough dmg on the first frame of him spawning (in the center to steal items), it will bypass his immunity frames AND the succ entirely

Basically what happened was that everybody got a lunar chimera family event except for Host because he restarted his game. That caused an imbalance in the race and Host got screwed by the boss the most.

lunars are all banned, unless use it for a cleansing pool spawning on the same stage as the lunar. It's mostly to follow the usual playstyle of these e8 players of never using lunars in a normal run
Originally just the seer's portals were disabled in order to ensure everybody had the same stage progression, when we switched to full seeded runs (everybody gets the same items) we had to disable the bazaar because even just entering the bazaar would change the available items on further stages. We're looking into bringing it back for the soup though.
@MarkTullius You guys did a fantastic job! I'm sure you guys will work out the kinks. I think I noticed a lunar pod on one of the stages and didn't notice anyone pick it up. So I wasn't sure what the deal was with lunars.
I think they should add some way to remove this item which adds 5 minutes to the timer, making them decide: to continue the run or to explore map more to get rid of that item, making the competition a little more interesting because right now everything is decided to who's gonna die first
