I love the final point! Spend more on the particular garment of quality, but get years more use from it all while looking one’s best. Very intelligent.

I mostly wear thrift clothing, and tons of old military items. I absolutely love the videos, and I am thrilled you are a metal head that doesn't look homeless. Great videos.

Superb. A plethora of an knowledge about an unappreciated art, the art of design, tailoring and dress.

I used to have this terrible sense of loss that my historical costuming people and my high-end tailoring and dressmaking people seemed to be saying a lot of the same things, but seemed to live in worlds apart. I am so, *so* grateful that the people in the interstices are coming into focus. It's deeply gratifying and makes me feel less ... alone.
@ Alex: It's wonderful to hear your background and your thoughts on the process.

This just made me realize something about myself even... I've always loved the working class garb, but I've also really started to like techwear almost over a decade now, and they're completely opposing representations of time.
One in the past and one in contemporary/future times.

This is a beautifully made documentary. Huzzah, Sir. Your filming matches your tailoring.
Thank you so much for the behind the scenes tour. And how the house is looking to adapt to a post-pandemic world. There's part of me that thinks that people will want to dress up and feel more formal. Partially because it's the polar opposite of what we're living through. But also - we've fed our eyes on all of this media where actors are wearing bespoke, beautiful and complex clothing. It's only a matter of time until that visual education get's applied to our own individual body.

I really appreciate your channel, I have only recently discovered it while looking for patterns for flat caps. I am fairly proficient with hand and machine sewing. My style has vintage working class leanings. Flat caps, dungarees, sweaters, waistcoats, plaid flannel, Redwing boots, and my black motorcycle jacket. I don't really care what decade the style is from, I just don't like much modern materials or trends.

Some of my best vintage embroidered silk pieces come from charity or antique shops for very little money. I also find some good linen cloth this way that could be remade gently into something historical. I do less of that and try to preserve the piece if I can. Rare to get a length of cloth for a complete project but you can find gems on rare occasions.

Saville Row, what an amazing place - it's just amazing what they do, I would so love to just sit and watch what they do in theire for a few weeks. I think alone by watching them work you could learne soooo much.
And I would really like to find that damn hair canvas that I at least can buy in god old Germany, or an alternative.

I love that he has full trousers, but he needs a fuller jacket to make a more congruent silhouette. A slightly extended shoulder with some drape in the chest would do wonders to his look overall.
