I quit social media for good in 2023. I don’t count RUclips because I have it very well-curated and use it mostly for research and not much in the way of engagement.
It came to my attention that the Philippines has 4.5 million homeless people. I thought it was a typo at first, but sure enough it’s out there from many sources. There’s so many things that we could all remedy if we all worked together and snapped out of the private property / profit paradigm. But will we be able to achieve this?
Most Americans are too self absorbed, they care more about what gourmet coffee they are going to buy than they are about the homeless in the Philippines.

I’ve sorta stepped away myself, try to check in when I can, humidity really set in today even I backed off from my daily outings I replanted a few house plants outside and whew!!! I was like a wet towel just doing that! , I did meet some people yesterday at the farmers market and they were from Iowa and have family in Omaha!! I said I have a friend who lives there too!!.....glad to hear you got your car back it’s a neg and pos.......I know you know what I’m saying.....sorry this is so long just checking in D. ✊🏻🎶🙏🏻🎶☮️✊🏻🎶
Truly your ounce of prevention stepping away for awhile 🤙🏼 I close some of the shows I'm on with something like; 'When you're out and about in your regular day, if you see someone who's not wearing a smile... make one.' It's such an easy thing to adopt and do. We're humans and we mimic each other. Smiles are a force of good. Why not be proactive? I do have to admit that I have also been known to say. "Death to Don Henley." I guess I need to make more smiles to counter my wish that I never hear the Eagles again. 🤣 I also try and absorb science fiction and documentaries on the regular, so I was copacetic with you coast to coast on today's 'cast. 👈🏼 alliteration will sometimes also tune human ears to any kindness or consideration you offer with lightness or good humor. I'm exhausted trying to do the right thing. But that's my nature. Not perfect, but like you said, paying attention and coming up with solutions. After the Donald J Trump incident Saturday, I feel my work environment is going to get further toxic. The thing is, I'm an independent thinker and encourage my co-workers to do the same. I've never wore a political shirt or flown political flags. I did have a Tulsi Gabbard sticker on my old car. I went to one of her campaign events. It said TULSI GABBARD PRESIDENT. 😂 It was an awkward bumper sticker. I thought it was funny. I stay informed. Think that's important. I believe SC-FI keeps me interested in this world. Basically, it's all around us, and I don't take it for granted. Well, because much of SCI-FI is actually non-fiction. I'm dreading Monday.
I understand stepping away. I can't even watch the news this morning and I was a let's watch it on Sunday morning kind of guy. But I just can't watch another unfiltered Trump voter and rally attendee given so much air time to be humanized and shown empathy even - as I saw this morning - so much so that one guy spouted radical right-wing talking points and blamed the left for the shooting because they have been brainwashed. It's like commercial after commercial after commercial for the Trump campaign. I going to read and listen to some Wayne Shorter.
Your Biden got 13 soldiers killed and pretended that it never happened. And you all lied about his mental state for years. Be nice to your fellow citizens and stop being a lying hypocrite that dehumanizing people.
