    I have one seiko solar chronograph. Since I live in the northern hemisphere, I keep it on a window sill of a southern facing window. It has run continuously for over five years.

    • @taniame

      It should run for another 15 years at least.

    • @taniame
      @taniame  2 года назад

      Actually it happens to a lot of seiko polar watches. Once your battery is out, it might take 10 minutes to several days to let it run again.

    The power indicator only has 3 positions. Full, halfway and low, it doesn't go in between those positions.

    • @DCLXVIDS
      @DCLXVIDS 2 месяца назад

      this is correct. Or that is what it's supposed to do :D my SBDL103 does this for sure. Funny is I thought it was defect the first time because it happened over night from full to half full. I reset the watch and it went back to full. but then it was 6 minutes ahead in chronograph mode. When I re-align the minute hand, it was back to half full charged. Keeping it in sunlight fixed it but it was never in between half full and full. Guess the real bs is it charges in artificial light. It really doesn't or not as much as it states. And you can only reset the watch when its fully charged or it will miss align the hand.

    Big help, I was extremely confused. I just bought one the other day and it was working out of the box with the indicator at F, then i woke up the next day and it was dead. The second watch was fully stopped with NO 2 second ticking and the chronograph was working. I figured it was a faulty unit based on that... Had to leave the watch in the sun for a full day before I got any movement, which is odd for a solar watch...

    • @taniame
      @taniame  2 года назад

      It happens a lot actually. My friend had a G-SHOCK, a high end one , and it stopped working after being like 3-4 months in a drawer. He then leave it under the sunlight for a day. No luck. He thought it was broken so just left it on the counter and totally forgot about it. Guess what he found a working g shock at the same spot after a week and it never stopped working ever since.

    • @taniame

      This was not the first time it happened to me. The previous encounter was on my G-SHOCK. I don’t think it is worth the hassle sending it for service. Just remember to charge it for SEVERAL days before sending it to any service places. Your watch really needs service if it still doesn’t tick after at lease a week of charging.

      @@williamtan9483 I think mine was at 40-45 range. But either way you should leave it under a reliable light source for sometime to charge. Don’t panic if you don’t see any movement after a day or two. Like I mentioned, sometimes it takes 5 minutes and sometimes it takes 7 days. not sure what chronograph you are referring to but i would say most of the chronograph watches on the market don't have the "PERFECT" line up for the chrono hand and the midpoint of the 60 mark. Especially those watches at or below this price range
