For me most frustrating thing is it doesn’t matter how many times u keep bringing back ur last line and cm into the formation . Once u select another player the last one will simply move away opening gaps.

Exactly! They will move when they shouldn't move, then when they should move to an opened space to go and score then! They will just stand there or even be going back. So usless. 😢

The game is broken.
I can't count how many times I've been controlling and leading the match with 2 or 3 goals, and then suddently my players can't pass the ball right, and the opponent quickly gets 2, 3 or even 4 goals and wins the game.
my main problem is the fact that my defenders always let the opponents get through. It's so stupid they are out of position and then don't go after the opponents. It's embarrasing

Defending is so bad this year they never seem to get it right, the CBs barely do anything and the fullbacks never track their runners. Balls over the top and through balls are way too OP.
I’ve been playing fifa since 18, 20-22 was peak for me I was extremely solid on 23 meh on 25 I can’t defend for shxt on seasons im getting blown by my attacking has been subpar too

Do you notice how when you select your center back defending a counter it then won't let you right stick switch to midfielders

@@ivrylevy1791try turn the right stick switching sensitivity down to 3 I did and it helped a bit hope it helps
@@ivrylevy1791unfortunately it comes down to user input, right stick switching isn’t perfect but majority of the times it’s a mis input which results in a wrong switch. Even if not; top players can rectify that switch in a heartbeat without bouncing in round players
If you play on higher pings, don't opt for Advanced defending, use tactical defending instead. The game selects the best option to try and win the ball back. Either a shoulder barge or an actual stand tackle
I feel there is no midfield battles in this game. Just couple of passes & opponent is next to my box. How to cover midfield so AI can’t pass so easy?
Team press is very good in fc 25, making your payers to track back or mark free opponents is a game changer now the game feels slower

Bro i watched the first 5 minutes of your video then played a match just with your r1 knowledge. Just won a game 8-0 and didn’t concede a single shot I’m in div 1 pushing for elite. Idk what I was doing before in terms of defending😂
Edit: 2nd game 9-1 with 5 shots against me. To put it into perspective I used to be winning games 10-6 and crazy scorelines like that 💀
What are you doing that your Defender dont Run Back with the opponent Striker to the own Goal ?

I have problem with defending corners specifically the part where ea will not let me switch the main cb that’s in between the pen and goal where ppl usually cross to and because of that I have to accept they will head or bike it in all the time if he they time it and I can’t bring my keeper out in time

I mean, when the game actually runs like it should, i play good.
But, when my players walk and moves like a drunk sailor in mud, and my passes happens 5 seconds after me actually pushing the buttons... Thats another story.

I've tried slowing down, i've tried letting go of the sprint button as well, but sometimes its just like the game wants me to lose..

0:32 this is precisely what’s wrong with the game. Well there are a lot of things but this one’s at the top.
The fact that you can make 5-6-7 perfect ping pong passes in a row without having to worry about body position, yet the defending has to be FULLY MANUAL is the reason why FIFA/EAFC has been absolute trash for over a decade now.
Bring back the mechanics of FIFA 12. Use that blueprint and just upgrade the graphics and the game would be near perfection. That game was.
This has to be the most rigged fifa ever. All the girl goalkeepers stop everything. How is it possible that every single person I play in div 6 already has either Mbappe, vini , Bellingham or haland or all of them.

I’m in div 6 and play with 6 women & 5 men it’s half prem half women’s league
Women are op in fifa there a lot cheaper than a male version and hold there own in the game
But in real life they wouldn’t stand a chance but then u have to remember it is a game after all
24 was hard for me but i still learned and became good at it , i gave up on the game but learned the defending and beat very good players , but the thing is it doesnt matter how good you are, if EA wants you to lose YOU LOSE! the scripting is so obvious most of the time

Nah this doesn't work against Legendary AI or above, especially when they're in scripted scoring mode. The second man press keeps selecting the most irrelevant players, and turns my teammate AI into Beginner level.
Yep for me the other difficulties are too easy so I play ultimate with player base difficulty and it’s such bs I’ll have some random player playing like prime Neymar making it impossible to defend but at the same time the defense is so ass so games be ending like 3-3

In Seasons they tackle spam you so much that even if you get away from the first tackle, the 2nd... 3rd... or 4rth tackle will get you! :( The average number of tackles per match is 100 ( minimum 70)!
Great video, think I'll give advanced defending a go. Was wondering how people were shouldering me off the ball consistently, and I'm sure I already use the L stick direction while making a challenge, but il find out fast if I haven't been and just learn it

Doing shoulder challenge inside box is huge mistake. It ends up penalty like 90% of time more often than slide or stand tackle.
No it doesn't, that's if you hold R1 and X which will do a deliberate foul

About the r3 switching
. Insted of saying that it should be like a clock, why not just saying that all we need to do is to point the stick to the player we are want to switch to...? Is like the same thing like the clock method

Hey Alex I'm familiar with defending with the 2nd man press and have been using it for years, however this year when I activate the rb to press the player I'm using runs in a straight line and is essentially out the game. Do you know how to fix this ?

@@MackyBclips but how would the AI know to stay on pressing? When I play clubs the longer I hold the more they press but it also makes my player bee line in an auto manner away.

@@chetubetchaaI don't really know what you mean, you hold it to press and then let go of it when the guy pressing gets near the ball or you will overcommit
@@MackyBclips In FC24 and others you had to hold the button in its entirety until you no longer wanted AI to press. Now on FC25 when you hold to press your player as well does a weird auto movement on it own. Forcing you to forfeit control. Im not sure if they changed the button input to now being you just simply press the button and the action runs it’s course until the ball is recovered. I’ve experimented with it still don’t quite understand the new mechanic. (I’m speaking specifically when you play Clubs btw)
This year if you using LEGACY YOU VERY LUCKY THE REST JUST MOVE AROUND LIKE FOWLS
Legacy defending is only for offline game modes brother
Never seen someone touch their defenders manually in div1/champs
Why did FIFA change What we used entire YEAR to learn do you know how long it took me to perfect my defending now I can’t even change player cursor like why are you even changing a game every year why not change the graphics only or something else why are you interfering with someone’s hardwork
You also can’t move players around the pitch in tactics like in FC 24

i just got the game and played my first match and I pressed R1 and its not working

100%, ran it all last year from the start
All these youtubers bang on about second man press… And I don’t know why… It doesn’t work that well
All you need to do is:
1) Make sure defensive line is decently high up (70-80 depth)
2) Defend with your midfielders not back line
3) Do NOT spam the tackle button
What's annoying .. is that in real life. A defender would let the attack run offside and be useless...
However because this is fc25 .. they force to run after them which makes absolutely no sense...

Literally trying to win a evo freindly purely to finish an evo on a player and its bringing me to the verge of uninstalling this game. Tried all of your tips and im still getting stomped - im shit at the game and actively avoid online as much as possible. Really bad taste to have evo linked to online play.

Defending in this game is dreadful, I've had to lower the difficulty after not playing for so long - the defence just make space for the attacker, the ai defence move away from the space and player direction is awful when selecting

Are you guys completely braindead? This year the ai defending is the strongest yet and there is much less space in the middle than last year. It is almost impossible to reach the penalty area if you dont know to do skill moves!
I play fc25 like a cow. Lazy pass, lazy sprint and I basically don’t know how to defend. R1 + X is a card 😂 just have to let the ball hit me then take it
Just play offline and let all the frustrations behind when are you playing online.
I had a 2 game cycle break and come back on fc 24 so i did a lot of learning defensive.
Its attacking im struggling and the passing this year is F*****g woeful especially out from the back.

Well that's where right stick switching comes in and you have to micro manage each player, moving them to where you want them to be
