- Опубликовано: 7 июн 2024
- I walk through the Griffith Observatory tourist attraction in Los Angeles. The Observatory was built in 1935 and is free of charge. It is located on Mount Hollywood with great views of the Hollywood Sign in the distance. The Observatory features many exhibits relating to science and astronomy, with terraces and a new underground exhibit area.

I was there at sunset when I was a little girl. I’ll never forget the view.
I'm so glad you recorded this as I've always wanted to see it up close and personal and not just on Google maps!! Thank you!
Me too!!!!!😄
@@rebekahcuriel-alessi2239 Me three, thanks Kid

That was where a scene from Rebel Without A Cause was filmed about 1954 . Enjoyed watching AK 👍
The film opened on October 3rd 1955. Three days after James Dean died on September 30th. Sal Mineo and Natalie Wood also died young. The observatory/planetarium plays a central role in the movie. It raises the story to a kind of mythic drama.
@@hazelwray4184 you are correct and well put . 👍👌
I also liked the way it was used in “LaLa Land” as the setting where the romance took on a sort of cosmic magic. And of course, a wonderful nod to “RWAC” in that film as well.
AK you are doing a terrific job shining a bright light on the many gems throughout the city of Los Angeles.
@@hazelwray4184 I’m 17 and had to watch it for my history class it was a good film I like how old Los Angeles loooks and the way it looks now
This is breathtaking.... I think you are the most generous person to show us these sights of a lifetime we'd otherwise miss.
Graçias y mucho salúd amigo mio.
🙇♀️
Every year California is one of our vacation stops. We’ve always wanted to visit Griffith Observatory and we never have. There’s so many things to do & see in California. We’ve started making a list of things to see in California that we haven’t been to...This has gone on the list.. Best part is that there’s no admission fee. That’s great that it’s accessible to everyone. Bravo to the City of L.A!!! Thank you ActionKid
I've been to LA twice and the first thing I did there during both visits was go to Griffith Observatory. It's one of my favorite places, from the Art Deco architecture to the very well executed science displays and the incredible history (there are other amazing research institutions nearby: JPL, Palomar Observatory, etc.). The last time I was there was right before the 2012 Transit of Venus, which I observed from Mount Wilson Observatory.
I hope you took the time to explore the place in more detail after giving us the quick walk-through tour, and it was nice you got to see it on a wicked clear day, with no haze or smoke covering the city.
Been coming here for years. It never a dull moment. I hope soon they will give us access to the Hollywood sign.
I seen this before in 4K videos, but it's more special now with your commentary. It's an impressive place for sure!
The views are superb! I could watch for hours without boredom!
I'm glad kids, young people and all ages are interested in knowledge of our planet and solar system.
I'm mostly amazed by the creative people that created this Observatory! Everything makes you question and be curious.
Beautiful tour AK! Congratulations 👏 AK
It looks so nice there, the astronomy must be amazing there 🪐🌌🌎
We simply walked past them, but there are dozens of great exhibits there that are well worth reading and understanding. This is a truly great musuem.
Another Home Run AK! Excellent work here again!
Thanks for taking us to The Griffin Observatory. Very cool and it’s free. Take care.
Oh my goodness what a view, this l love the most so far out of all the LA videos.
AK, you should wear a shirt with your RUclips channel on it .
Yay, the Griffith Observatory!!! Did you get to see the Tesla Coil demonstration? It's really cool when turned on!! ⚡👍
The Griffith Observatory looks like a great place to visit! I am going the next time I make it out to California. Great video, AK!
I am learning spoken English from your videos. Thank you for the pure American pronunciation
This is such an incredible place. And the views are spectacular! And I cannot believe it's only $7 for admission. There are a ton of things to explore there. I know that I'm repeating myself, but thankyou for taking us here. I am loving seeing everything and everywhere you go. I hope you are enjoying yourself. ❤
Wifey and I are planning to go for the first time next week . Looking forward to it. Thank you again
Very interesting exhibits! Well worth the trip! Thanks AK!😁
Amazing. Thank you for this wonderful tour.
The Mt. Hollywood trail starts out by the parking lot and that's one of the things I loved doing when I would go out to LA - back then the trails were relatively quiet and peaceful but now there's just too many people
I think thats good because i thought that place was abandoned
if you hate traveling, but love exploring action kid is your go to guru . amazing content kid it up buddy
Wow, didn’t know their was so many things to see, thanks Actionkid 😎
Ive been there its amazing!!!!
Mate did you miss showing the James Dean statue??? The famous, classic, movie Rebel without a Cause was filmed up there showing it in a positive light which is why the James Dean bust is situated up there.
new subscriber, massive fan of your channel as im coming to LA sooner or later and this is what i wanted to see, this is the best vid of G.O i seen so far
Absolutely amazing video! Thank you AK!
This was your best video since you went to California, this place looks wonderful, thank you for this experience.
One of my fav places in LA. Will u be going to the Getty museum? Long Beach Aquarium?
Getty Museum is spectacular!!
Yes the Getty. Was free when I visited four years ago.
I was there in 2019. Back in the pre Covid era. It was free then too, but there was a parking fee. Definitely worth going.
Add Getty Villa to the list too! 😀
Getta Villa is better than the regular Getty
Yeah these exibitions really unbelievable! !!
So incredible inside !!!
Star Trek Voyager: Season 3, Episode 8. Future's End: Pt 1 & 2. Thanks for sharing this on RUclips.
Wow! This observatory looks so cool!!!
So many videos but no matter what, always very very cool and entertaining to watch you actionkid discovering !! Your are the number one !! 😉😄😄👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A very famous "two-part episode" of Star Trek Voyager, ... key scenes were filmed right here at the Griffith Observatory.
What a stunning view 🤩 Hope you’re having an amazing time in LA!
Thank you A.K. so much for Showing us Around in side. Not even ‘TheDailyWoo’ who has RUclipsd here many times didn’t not take us all though the inside.
Pendulum reminds me of the Foucault Pendulum in the Smithsonian.
That's super cool they let you film there :) Also extra perfect cuz that's the one place my friend was going to bring me to during my visit to LA but we ran out of time.
I'm sure you're not allowed to film but while you're there you should visit the Science Center. It's really cool and I think the LA Natural History Museum is basically next door to it.
Thank you AK for this opportunity to see finally the Griffith observatory at the outside and from inside 👍 I had the ticket there last year when i visited in Los Angeles , and the cancelled my ticket for an obvious reasons which what a bummer , coming from so far and ...!!!
Great video thanks for sharing
This place is just awesome! Thanks for the tour, AK is the best!
Fascinating
Wow so impressive , thank you for sharing , the periodic table and so much more xoxo
Great tour walk! I“bet” the views at night is amazing too!
Thank you. Very nice!
What a beautiful place. Would love for you to do another video on your recording set up and how its changed over time.
On the west side there is another stunning place you must visit, The Getty Museum!
Wow! Beautiful! Place and museums Thank you for video showing! Have a great enjoy fun! 🌍🌕🔭👍
I always wanted to see that place myself!
i love it thanks a lots 🌕🌖🌘
This was really nice. The pendulum reminded me of going to the Buhl Planetarium when I was a kid.
In the 1988 Geena Davis movie Earth Girls Are Easy, they made this a nightclub and the outside terrace was a place where people sat at tables. I'm sure it cost the studio a pretty penny to have it filmed there. 😎
thanks for the stream
Cool walk to the observatory! Beautiful. You should check out the museum of science and industry. Off Figueroa and Hoover. It’s really a awesome place. And if you can check out the aquarium in Longbeach and the pike. Thx AK enjoy Cali and stay safe
Cool! Hopefully you got to see one of the shows
Very cool video. Next time take the hike that goes behind the observatory down the hill.
Nice!☄🌞⭐🌠🌌
Yay! You made it to Griffith..! 🍿I am coming back to see this video! See ya soon!🍎
Awesome video, ActionKid! I think you would like the California Science Center Museum and the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum (on the same campus.) They have the Space Shuttle Endeavour on display there in addition to many other cool items. Both museums are world class!! You can get there on there Expo Line Train (Now known as the E Train) and get off at the Expo Park/USC Station. Really very much worth a visit!!
He can also check out the LA Coliseum and USC. 😀
I've always wanted to go!
good video i went here once but it was closed just got to walk around the outside
Cool!
rheres a pathway right behind the observatory you can walk it and thers a benh that you can sit on and view all of hollywood and ,LA city scape, that bench has been in a hundred films and commercials. its rt behind the observatory- very cool
I haven't been that close to that many people for months .. a year .. almost two years.
As soon as he said "the big bang theory", that theme song started playing in my head.
Good tip, you give a very good impression of LA.
With the focus on the 2028 Olympics, I do think many Europeans will visit Los Angeles the coming years
Still a long way for that lol
Love You LA❤
Looks so busy in the video than when I went
Walk Bronson canyon trail to get to the Hollywood sign.
Gotta come to san diego...
L.A. Zoo next!!🤗🐒🐯🐨🐗🐑🐘🐼🐧🐍🐏🐄🐐🐊🦁🦏🦍
you could have gone to the upper level. as i recall you can get a glimpse of the large telescope even if you can't enter. the planeterium is a light show of the nite sky from earth including a lecture and an enlarged view of the milky way on a multi-lit ceiling. it's not a guided tour of the telescope. dome which is only available to astromeners and. astronomy students.
I've been there in July 2008. Looks the same as filmed here.
Hey AK! What's up! !!
This is great! What is the easiest way to get there??
Google Maps will show you how.
"plane, train, or automobile?"
The most important is uranium which is use in nuclear power plant to generate electricity that is carbon free emission
22:35 That door probably hasn't been open since Edwin Hubble was alive lol
Action you haven’t been showing us your mode of transportation while in los angeles
Nice i always wanted to visit thanks. I was the 400th like. Lol
Today is WEDNESDAY JULY 21 , So.California.
Yeah, he should have said " today, the day of this recording is Saturday July 17th." Some of his videos come out a few days after recording.
The observatory is "NOTORIOUS"? wow
for what?
@@harmony72 actionkid himself said it is notorious in the beginning of video.
@@kei2142 yeah i saw it. His language skills arent the greatest.
HOLA..🖐
Remember when you had to run away from that werewolf?
Those "new toxic elements" are a part of the new "noble gases" on the periodic table
This reminds me of gta
Closed when I went a couple of weeks ago smh
People taking photos w/ smartphones over the edge... without a strap a assume...
Walking GTA V
Weird observation: but there were far fewer truly obese people than I usually see in crowds of Americans.
