    That’s is very well explained by breaking it up in to 3 easy steps for beginners( unlike my instructor who does all in 1 go). Saw other videos with images on what one needs to check for each step. Video is very comprehensive but would like to add one extra validation step at 5.35. Driver would be looking in his right mirror trying to straighten his trailer. He would risk hitting cone in his left mirror. Examiner whistled and I stopped during my exam . Later pulled forward. So please add validation instruction to look at left mirror also at 5.30 to avoid hitting cone with left forward trailer wheels

      Thank you for sharing very good information. All students should have an awareness of the trailer MIRROR use.

      Maryland does not require an alley dock. Check out my Playlist. CDL College Alley Dock and on you tube there are more. I will try to put on my own by Sunday if possible. Thank you and referral are appreciated.

    Some people say that we must pass the two cones before starting the maneuver. Other people say that we should put the rear wheels in front of the two cones. So what is the best option?

    • @truckerstevecdlinstructor
      @truckerstevecdlinstructor  Год назад

      You should be one yard off the cone. This driver was one yard off and center in the lane. I like to be a little pass the cone. Give me more room to work with after the set- up. If I have the room, I may make the connection going backwards instead of using a pull up. The tester may ask you to pull just past the parallel space. So your tires will be pass the cones. Check your CDL state driver manual for the test rules.

      Please share with viewers. What I’am trying to do is keep it simple and helpful for students who may have trouble doing any range skills. When a student learns how to maneuver their trailer, I take them to the next level of their training.

    These type of videos are not very helpful because you are referencing "double lines" & "lines" that other people don't have in their training facilities

    • @truckerstevecdlinstructor
      @truckerstevecdlinstructor  Год назад +1

      Yea, if you are at a school with no Lines. Now when you go for your test, there should be lines. Even on dirt, lines can be sprayed on. Best to you on your training.

      Driver after a poor set up did pull up number 1. He needed to make another pull up- But: the driver didn’t change direction. So it doesn’t count as a second pull up. Once he backed into the alley, he then made his second pull up. No encroachments and the two pull up-/ o points. Also if he came into this skill with no points the driver could have made
      More pull ups if needed.
      A pull up is a change of direction. Not a fail.

      @@scalywag the first two pull ups are free - no points. The third pull up starts the points. What is your state.? I have fail five students because they thought they had only two pull ups. Talk to your instructor and give me the state. Like to check it out.
