- In the Indian market, Honda CBR 150 was launched in 2012. It was meant to rival YAMAHA R15 in the market but due to some reasons, it failed to attract buyers.

actually CBR 150R was a better bike compared to R15 V2 , it had a DOHC engine which was more refined and more powerful than SOHC engine in R15, and CBR was more comfortable , it also had better braking, handling and suspension compared to R15 and the build quality was also rock solid and far better than R15, it failed because R15 looked better and had better low end power and was cheaper because of SOHC engine, CBR sucks very badly at low end and gets defeated by its rivals in 0 to 60kmph but after 60kmph its a beast, it can easily defeat Apache rtr 160 4v, ns160 , and even pulsar 220 in 0 to 100 kmph drag and can reach 150kmph top speed but R15 v2 cannot defeat rtr 160 4v and pulsar 220 in 0 to 100 kmph drag

R15 v2 draws the body language of R1 & R6. It has 2ble head lamp , led tail lamp , Alluminium swingarm with extra wheelbase, engine kill switch, passing lights, where cbr doesn't offer all these things.. just imagine where honda shine, hornet, splendor have passing lights ,cbr doesn't have...🤣🤣🤣.. engine kill switch to aj 100 cc k bike me bhi araha... Fibre Quality of yamaha is far better than honda..honda k black rough fibre to 2 sal me safed ho k fatne lag jaate hai... Yamaha k nehi hote.. cbr agar better hai to sirf dohc engine hai...aur comfort me... Lekin har bike ka ek characteristics hota hai... Honda has been taking Indian customers for granted for a long time , both in cars & motorcycles market. They are widely known now for Activa & City...this is the image of Honda India. On the other hand our homegrown manufacturers Tata , Mahindra , Bajaj , RE are rocking shores both in India & overseas.

CBR 150R was a lovely machine. Compact looks and more comfortable than the R15. The problem was that it was less appealing when compared to the R15. Also the current generation CBR is nowhere close the R15 V4. Honda knows that and is not going to bring it to India.
Current gen cbr150r looks better than r15 v4. Only problem is the thin tyres

In 2012 this bike was approx 1.30 L on road which was quite pricy. Even Royal Enfield was only slightly more expensive than cbr. CBR was faired bike but handling of R15 was way better as cbr was more of a tourer than track focussed.
I have CBR 150R 2014 Model, Thailand version, top speed 160 without any modifications. I love CBR.

CBR 150 in orange colour was my dream bike but in 2012 I was 13 y.o. and could not afford it.
Professional Automotive journalists aur test riders ki sunte to video mein kuch aur hi bolte. Personally maine bhi test ki hai dono bikes, R15 aur CBR 150 R similar hai performance mein bas thoda sa hi antar hai.. R15 ka initial aur midrange thoda accha hai because of torque but highway par redline k paas CBR kafi relaxed feel hoti hai because of DOHC. Baki acceleration and top speed mein decimals ka hi difference hai. Rahi baat RUclips par drag race ke videos ki to wo sab college ke ladke hai koi professionals nahi, jisko jo bike acchi lagti hai usi ko jitayega, R15 wala R15 ko aur CBR wala CBR ko.
Now coming to sales figures and failure of this bike in Indian market..
India mein value for money keh lo ya price factor keh lo, sabse zyada matter yehi karta hai. CBR ka spare part substandard quality ka nahi ata hai plus DOHC is a little complex to build so price to zyada rahega hi but India mein ispar zor nahi diya jata. Yaha R1 ya CBR 1000 RR bhi le kar nikloge to har 10 mein se 9 log *average kitna deti hai* pucchenge.

I had old model of cbr 150r back then in 2013...engine was very smooth..no vibration I took it to 132 kmph... only thing it was lagging was torque at low end...no engine kill switch..passing light in comparison to its competitor..
Ask real cbr owner's they will tell what kind of bike cbr was. Brut power and real smoothness. This bike was ment for high speed. Low maintenance and higb quality parts are the usp. Cbr was better then r15 in every aspect but price. Paying 15 k extra for cbr may no look smart but believe me 60k in oddo with no extra expenses speak volumes about the quality. Parts are expensive I know but com on ur riding a race machine and it's worth it
Cbr was a gem. I still have it 60 k in oddo and one piston ring and clutch plate change. Please do the maths and ask any r15 rider rider what's his top speed. He will tell how many timeshe lost to the orange beast wo says Honda on the tank ❤️

Bro the admin of this channel has seen some Yamaha or KTM fanboy videos (or perhaps he himself is one of them 🤣) and consequently came out with some nonsense information. He hasn't done proper research on why the sales figures of CBR 150 R couldn't rise much. It's just because Honda did not compromise with the built quality by not using sub-standard spare parts like KTM & Bajaj and sadly, people in India go with the cheaper one no matter how poor the built quality is.

Fir bhi R15 looks much more sportier than cbr .. jab 2008 me yamaha ne first R15 v1 launch kiya tab 150 cc me bhi koi sport bike ho sekta hai ..yeh sayed hi koi indian soch bhi sekte the... Lekin yamaha ne R1 & R6 ki model se banaya R15 ko..jo logo ko bahut pasand aaya..aur 2012 me R15 v2 was a revolutionary product.. R15 v2 jaise khubsoorat bike sayed hi koi tha aur hai 150 cc me... R15 me yamaha ne R6 aur R1 ka dna dala tha...wohi looks..wohi charm jo automatically logo ko attract kiya..ek proper arrow jaisa looks tha R15 v2 ka.. jo dekhne me much beautiful lagta hai than a cbr ...isiliye zyadatar customer ne R15 ko choose kiya...aj bhi karte hai..
