I'm a South African and I can't say if they're the best in Africa or not. I found that RUclips have us misuse the term "best".
However I really love their sound and their videos are always beautiful.
Obviously being from South Africa I love the soulful sound so I don't know about best but they are amazing for me

@@Budgetgadgets2 you have to be out of touch to think Sauti Sols music is low quality. Those guys heavily invest in their craft. Use the best sound recording equipment in Kenya and always improve their music skills. Savara is a skilled drummer. Bien, an amazing vocalist who is constantly improving on his writing skills. Polycarp is a skilled guitarist and studied music production in the States. Chimano's vocals are top notch too plus these guys are among the few Kenyan artists who have mastered their original African sound and from time time release songs with powerful messages. Songs like Tujiangalie,Nerea,Tano tena etc etc . What part of their music do you honestly think is overrated 😂😂. Kenyans have to be the least appreciative people on Earth and yet you keep praising other artists for doing way less😂😂

The location is likely not Mombasa, but a 14th century town northwards along the Kenyan coast, _Lamu_ , arguably the origin of the Swahili language. I've been there very many times. They still have vestiges of the ancient Eastern African trade network going. They hand-build boats and export them as far as Mozambique. I actually intend on going on one of these sales trips to Mozambique.
There is still only one car in the whole archipelago (group of islands) but it's going downhill very fast ("modernizing") -- lots of motorbikes there these days, and port construction going on 40 km away.
It's still a super beautiful place. Obama & Michelle had a date there decades ago. Spending a few days there with a significant other is a bucketlist priority.
