  • Get ready to explore the exciting world of textured pottery! In Part 1 of this two-part series, we'll dive into the creative process of adding texture to different clay mixes. Watch as I experiment with various clay, then throw small pots on the pottery wheel. The real fun begins as I spontaneously carve each pot into a unique shape, creating a collection of one-of-a-kind miniature masterpieces. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we'll reveal the fired and glazed results, showcasing how the textures transform in the kiln and the final stunning effect!
For this project, you can carve your own dry clay textures (and fire them!) or purchase pre-made textures (chamut)from a pottery supply store. To protect your hands while throwing on the wheel, use a mesh to separate the rough texture from the soft clay. Then, add as much textured clay as you like to your wedged clay body and you're ready to throw! Ask any questions in the comments below.
remember 😉stay tuned for part 2

Love all the textures. I like the black one at the rear of the still photo. The vertical lines give it a beautiful kind of elegance about it.

I just love the lines, the marks you're making, 1 was my favourite, 2 was simple but wow, 3 and 4.....? It went on, so calming to watch and explore as you mark the clay. I've started to carve into my throw work, my painting skills are not the best and glazing is at this time my nemesis so for me carving and line work is the way to go. Have subscribed so I can delve into your videos and not miss out on part 2, thankyou for your inspiration 🎉❤😊
