- Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Vs Chase Sapphire Preferred (Who Wins?)
Wells Fargo recently released news of their new Autograph Journey card that will be opened to the public this month! The news has sparked controversy that it is better than the Chase Sapphire Preferred, and even better than the American Express Platinum?
This video will provide a clearer context on why the Chase Sapphire Preferred is still the better card to have than the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card.

Anyone believe WF will become the top the credit card issuer?
Not in the near term. They need to bring out some home run transfer partners quickly to bring up the hype level on their program.
I wonder if they will be more strict in accepting applications with this news coming out.
@@jw0ng23 possible... Depends on what their "real" goals are, ie is it catching other issuers in market share or bringing on profitable customers etc etc
If they had Aeroplan it’d be way more legit. I assume they are adding them eventually. All these delays and having meh transfer partners, very pedestrian SUB, idk very underwhelming. A grocery multiplier would’ve been nice but the multiplier’s otherwise look pretty good. Overall agree with you although I use the Ink Preferred.
Ink preferred is very legit or most of chases business cards are. Aeroplan would of helped alot. Would you consider WF in the future?
Hope WF introduces more Travel Partners in a timely manner! Definitely could use Air Canada & Virgin Atlantic.
I wonder who else they could realistically add because I don't personally see them adding Hyatt or even American Airlines even though they issue the BILT card now.
Maybe they can make a splash and add somebody like Korean Airlines (Chase had them as a TP until 2018) 🤷
I would agree! I was disappointed they didnt get either aeroplan or virgin or both. It should get better over time hopefully. What airline would you like to see that is outside the box to be added?
Wells Fargo is very underrated
We will see over time

Good perspective, Michael!
Nice cameo 😎
Glad you think so! Thanks for the help Lani!
Lani is the man!
The card caught my attention with the 5x hotel multiplier, as that is something I am currently missing (have the CSP, but it's locked to their travel platform). I could see this card becoming a decent mid tier travel card for existing WF users.
One thing to keep an eye out for is the possibility of them getting American Airlines as a travel partner. They already do through BILT. Granted, I doubt it will come to the Autograph, but it is a possibility.
The 5x on the journey is nice, since it's not tied to a travel portal. Meaning, your status and accumulation would apply. Well, one thing to note, is WF's current transfer partners are the same exact partners as Bilt. So, being optimistic on the next ones is a thought.
@@jw0ng23 Well, with almost perfect timing it was just announced AA will be dropped as a transfer partner of BILT. Guess we can scratch them off as a canadate.
@@exclusivelymatt Well I saw that as well, it appears AA is trying to be very exclusive (Citi), meaning, their pts are even more valuable. Are you going to get an AA card?
@@jw0ng23 Unlikely at the moment. I do prefer American for domestic travel in economy, however they tend to be a secondary airline for my main airport and travel needs. Delta tends to serve my needs better.
@@exclusivelymatt interesting to hear. Delta is my hub and I can't seem to find a way to fly them (Cost $$$$). I guess I meant, AA miles are very good for other airlines than than AA😄

I might get it for the sub. I'm over 5/24 so csp is out for me but it's not super interesting either but the sub on it is just as green 😂. Nice video sir!
Good stuff Definitely still a wait and see for WF!
I don't even have the Sapphire and I'd choose it over the Journey 🫡
Lol of course, i didnt watch mark reeses video, but could it really be better than the plat?
@w0ngwaytravels that's a Joke hahahaha. People will drop any for views
@@SledgeIncTeam Other than the 5x multipler; the perks are not even close to the plat and I don't even have the card...
Got the CSP, rarely use it, weak multipliers, good ecosystem and overrated IMO😂 I don’t have any Wells Fargo card but, the Journey has a lot better multipliers and solid protections. Wells Fargo just need more transfer partners to compete with the big boy. Great overview Michael!🫵
Thanks man! Appreciate the comments

Hyatt has great value!
