Not really, Silent Hill was all about psychological stuff like the world being inverted or turned upside (and shit getting rusty as fuck), not to mention the monsters were all barely human/animal in appearance. Here, you have something more akin to Condemned/Outlast psycho people and muck monsters not unlike the things seen the later parts of RE4, and the majority of RE5 and 6. With all that said, this is definitely not going to be the kind of Resident Evil many of us grew up with, or the Resident Evil many saw it becoming over the last decade.

Why the hell do they give you a gun that doesn't do shit? They introduced the first cool enemy, a copy from RE4 regenerators, yet it appears randomly there was not build up. In RE4 when it first appeared they let you see it first on a chamber apparently dead, then you read about it. You turn on the power supply, and the damn thing wakes up, body shaking and walking slowly at you. That's cool and innovative. It scared the living shit out me when I destroyed his legs and came at me like a snake. I was like, Omg this thing is unstoppable. And when you finally escape the room, there is another one out there. You don't see it, but you can hear it breathing heavy, almost in pain. that's disturbing, cool, and scary. That old lady is supposed to be scary. Her face is funny.
What's this scrawny guy and his peashooter supposed to do against regenerating enemies? Do you really think that 4 bullets from a pistol was going to kill that thing? He missed two shots, too. The gun isn't useless; it seems like this game is going down the road of Alien Isolation, where you can only ever buy yourself time with weapons rather than kill the main enemies permanently. The Family members are clearly unkillable, and I bet these horrors in the basement take a lot more than 2 shots to kill. Even Leon had to shoot enemies multiple times in the head to kill them, but at least he had military training and the ability to carry several guns and hundreds of rounds of ammo at any one point.

GUTS 141 nemesis was a douchebag but you could still bring him down for a couple of seconds, in this one the enemies don't feel a thing like mr piggy from outlast or the xenomorph from alien isolation. gunplay is terrible and is useless, but I wouldn't mind all that if they made the immortals something other than hillbillies.

if you want a gun sound to be realistic. crank the volume up to max and then use an equalizer to amplify the sound even more until your ears begin to hurt.

i think it's purposely bad (no crosshairs, aiming down sights, lasersights) the character you are playing is extremely inexperienced in these kind of situations... He's not on some special units operation, he's just a regular guy looking for someone. Bullets are now even more precious, since they can only incapacitate the enemies instead of killing them.
This actually doesn't look that bad, I'm not gonna lie I had my bad judgement on this whole fps thing but I just hope this doesn't stay a consistent feature in the future of the series. I hope the'll do a new resident evil game by the books one day

GUTS 141 nemesis was a douchebag but you could still bring him down for a couple of seconds, in this one the enemies don't feel a thing like mr piggy from outlast or the xenomorph from alien isolation. gunplay is terrible and is useless, but I wouldn't mind all that if they made the immortals something other than hillbillies.

Zombies is like being controled by someone, yes? so basically, RE4 got it right and still was good....until punching boulders in RE5 came and a murica' RE6 gun blaze came around.
RE1, 2, 3, zeroes, CV was more on Undead zombies and BOWs. RE4 was more on Mindless Zombies and Old concept of BOW which was actually the thing that started BOWs.
5 as about a steroid jock and a sexy support fighting a acrobatic suave guy with supernatural abilities that cause a lot of shit on future events and saving private Jill.
6 was, well, It's a fan fiction of the director himself that everybody wanted but manage to fuck it up.

Cooking Sauce obviously there is a story its a RE game but real RE fans want a good story from this title game that not only carries on the lore from the previous games but also adds on new refreshing pieces as well. if you want a gun sound to be realistic. crank the volume up to max and then use an equalizer to amplify the sound even more until your ears begin to hurt.

I am loving this gameplay. I'm getting my PSVR gear so can't wait to try it out with this game. Jump scares get me though. They got me in the demo really good lol. It wasn't even that scary but I wasn't expecting the scare the moment it occurred. Lol but that's what I love about it so far well that and pretty much everything else

Except it doesn't suck and there's going to be many different parts of the game with different goals, different uses for things, more combat. The demo was just a general proof of concept. Not to mention gunplay was shit in all resident evils until 4.

i think it's purposely bad (no crosshairs, aiming down sights, lasersights) the character you are playing is extremely inexperienced in these kind of situations... He's not on some special units operation, he's just a regular guy looking for someone. Bullets are now even more precious, since they can only incapacitate the enemies instead of killing them.
