Rhule did not say anything about the Big Ten needing guaranteed slots. He said they should have 4 teams in the playoffs. This comes after a reporter asked Rhule about the difficulty of winning the Big Ten conference with the new incoming teams. He just said he thought at least 4 teams should make the playoffs, saying because of the tough teams in the B1G, you shouldn't have to win the conference to be in the playoff. No mention of any "guaranteed spots" slotted for the B1G. The word play begins when the original jackwagon twists his words and says "automatic". Rhule never said anything "automatic".
It is very likely that the big 10 will get 4 spots almost every year. Look at who is in the new big 10 OSU, Oregon, Michigan, Penn state, Washington, USC. Plus, there are a lot of new head coaches in the big 10. Some are unknown how they are going to do, others have a pretty good track record of success. It was very clear what Matt said: Big 10 is better because the SEC doesn't have to play in the cold. You can agree or disagree, but that is true.
@TheeDawgCatcher I don't think there will ever be automatic bids outside of the conference champs. I just think big 10 and sec are going to be 8 teams in the playoffs almost every year. I just think that is how it is going to work out, especially with the recent conference adds Oregon, texas, OU, and others.
Born and raised in Nebraska. So glad Finebaum called Rhule out. He is a .500 college coach in lesser conferences who pitched a billionaire to get an NFL job. Then he pitched Nebraska AD who himself was looking for a better job. Rhule should keep his mouth shut. But he doesnt because he is a better talker than coach.
He didn't say guarantee, he said big is good enough to have four in every year. Take achill Paul
Big 10 plays more conference games than the SEC that makes it better (more challenging). Big 10 is way more physical.

@@JeremyMcIntyre-v1n definitely. I think the big 10 and sec will get most slots, but they need to earn it. They lost me at guaranteed slots lol
