Love the channel, but gonna bicker with you here. You just keep cutting breaks to the ASE. If a category like denomination and purity "doesn't matter", why did you include it? Oh "doesn't matter so it's a tie"? Nonsense. Size is not a tie. Because Maples are smaller in diameter they'll fit in many tubes with rounds that Eagles won't. Eagles need a tube designed for them while Maples can go into nearly any tube. Win for the Maple. Purity too may be incidental pragmatically but, since you kept it as a category and since Maples have more purity, it's another win for the Leaf - no question about it. Look, the difference between a silver medal and a gold medal at the Olympics may be .001 seconds, but a win is a win, right? Eagles have more liquidity cuz LCS's pay more for them. Eagles get the win there, another disagreement. I love both coins. But I concur with your conclusion, the Maple wins. But, the score for the Maple was higher than you counted. Enjoyed the vid!

If people ask me which country is better, as an American I'm gonna say USA. However that's not the question being asked. (And please, Canadian stackers...let's not stop reading at the first sentence!)
The question is which is the better bullion. The American Silver Eagle, or the Canadian Maple Leaf. I had the same answer for Silver Dragon's (SD) original video that I did for this one...THE CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF. In fact, I just bought my first Royal Canadian Mint 10 oz bar! I kept it in the original plastic, and it is beautiful to admire! I love the heft and beauty. I plan on stacking primarily with RCM products. The premium on their products are almost non-existent, they are beautiful to look at, and the price is just better than getting Eagles. Not to mention, even though SD says purity doesn't matter...it does though. I get purer product for a better price! I love 'Murica...I'm probably more 'Murican than the biggest Eagle stacker with an arsenal the size of the US Army...I'm still buying Maples all day, and through Walmart too! Cash prices via a paid off monthly credit card....a no brainer!
RCM really does have beautiful product. It's like buying generic rounds, but from a sovereign mint. You just can't beat that!

woudlve been cool to see graded examples as well, also the fact of grading Soverieng bullion, grading standards for sovereign bullion, how they grade differently, the costs etc. Kinda hard to believe you can compare the two coins without having and showcasing the coins graded, the coins grading standards etc.
Not every coin that comes off of the minting process is perfect, thus why and how theyre graded determines many parts of that factor. Which country mints their bullion coin better, which uses a better metal, or higher quality planchet. For instance Did you know every single US Eagle made is actually A Sunshine Mint Bullion/Round Planchet; basically every eagle is basically a sunshine mint round, but the US mint uses their dies to press the design onto the coin. Canada uses a different mints brand for their planchets, or they possible use their own made planchets now.
I still think the video is cool, but seriously so many content creators make this type of video, video format but still they never go fully into it. With more in depth details, intricate details etc.

Great run through and comparison. Agree tax implications should maybe be another factor. Obvious rack-n-stack points to Maples as the better coin but there’s just something about stacking my country’s bullion. ASE gets my vote

It wasn’t long ago that I would’ve hands-down chosen Eagles as I was trying to simplify my stack. However, I just bought some maple leafs and they sure are beautiful and they actually stack better. They do need to be handled with greater care. I think the most important thing that you mentioned is that the spread is less with Maple leafs and that is the most important thing to me

I have lots of both but prefer Maples due to lower premium and Mintshield. Coin dealers in general are not giving you much more back for ASEs over Maples when premiums are low

Totally agree. Silver has a tendency to tarnish or turn milky. Having the coin that had resolved that problem is a big plus. Maples all the way!

i have been stacking constructional silver for almost 15 years and finally make enough to afford the premium on bullion coins. i must say - i agree with everything you said. i love the american silver eagles and have several - but the silver maples are a notch better and a no brainer. i can source both of these coins locally and the silver maples are consistently $2 cheaper.

Walking Liberty's beauty is second-to-none. The Maple is a leaf, the radial anti-counterfeit design looks like something cheap from the 90s, and has some island's monarch on the back.
Eagles are hands down better. Especially the Type 1s.

I agree 100%. While I don't like the image of royalty on their coins, the spread is what makes the difference. Also, the security features. I also like the Maple Leaf back design better than the Eagles.

Just started watching videos of buying and investing in precious metals and had a question. I know next to nothing about any of this but if you were to buy silver to turn a profit as well as keep your wealth safe could you then convert that silver to gold as it is much more static then our devalued dollar and much less prone to influx?

So glad you did this video because I have been trying to understand it all. My biggest concern though is because it’s Canadian will you have the same buying power here in America if times go bad. Because I just know in regular Canadian coins people won’t accept those even vending machines won’t accept those. For that reason, I just feel and I don’t know anything about this stuff, but I just feel that buying the American is better for me for peace of mind. I could be wrong.
