Hey, love the content. Watch every time before I go to the salvage yard. Quick pet peeve of mine tho....when you're cutting the harnesses ( like at 3:12), try to cut it at the midpoint and not right at the floor so it leaves room for someone else to add splices in. I work in a harness shop and have been a low voltage technician for years, and this is always a no-no. Its like you pre-wire a house for TV or something and then you trim the wires right at the point where they enter the box, the wires are there but there's not enough length left to actually use. If there is even like 3 inches, someone could still splice another connector into it someday. I know its at a salvage yard and most likely someone will never use it, but it still makes me cringe lol . Thanks!
Our favorite Pick-n-Pull was closed forever because of Covid. We tried going last week and saw it empty ☹️ So the next closest one is about an hour away and we’ll try that one soon. We want cosmetic pieces for the Goat and random stuff for ‘05 Mustang. It’s so much fun to explore there!
Can you do a video, since you have the experience, " so you bought an xj, what do you need to check first". It would really help me out since we're not neighbors. 😂
You scored some good harnesses there Dan . I like your yard videos also along with Doug and Eric's ( D&E ) . Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next video . Until next time be safe and take care .
Not a bad day at the yard Dan. I wish I could have rode to the yard with you bud that blue OBS Chevy would have been a good parts vehicle for my GMC dually.
We're needing a spare tire carrier? I don't necessarily want to utilize my overhead rack for that. I drive a 99 WJ updating to an 01 4.0 with lots of extra goodies.
Hmm, that blend door repair may not have been so bad if someone would have used a Dremel and cut out a nice hole then just taped or glued the piece back on after they were done. That's one thing that Chrysler sure sucked with was the design of that stuff, as well as the access for the heater core. Takes me maybe 10 minutes to change a heater core in my Ranger or Bronco 2. 3 screws and a couple of heater hose clamps and done.
Not jeep Related, but pick a part related....a while back I picked up a set of 4 14" aluminum wheels with center caps for my 87 Ranger pickup for $170. Got my tires swapped over to them. Then about 2 weeks ago found a set of 4 15" aluminum wheels with center caps for my 88 Bronco 2 for $170. Just had my tires swapped over to them a couple days ago. The wheels look so much better than the crap steel wheels that were on them previously and the wheels on my Bronco 2 were bent....apparently the previous owner tried using it for rock crawling or something because he sure did a number on a lot of stuff on it. I got online and thought I'd look around for those wheels I picked up. I found a website that sells refurbished/used wheels for all makes and models. The 14" wheels without any center caps are $205 each, and center caps are $50 each. So $1,020 for those wheels, not sure how much they would have charged for shipping. The 15" wheels without center caps are $255 each, and center caps are $50 each. So $1220 for those wheels, and again I have no idea what they would charge for shipping, but probably not cheap. So within the past month I've got over $2200 in wheels and center caps for $340....sometimes I go several weeks to several months without finding anything or not even going to any of the pick a part yards, but usually when I do find something its a pretty good deal. The steel wheels for my Bronco 2 went in the scrap trailer, the steel wheels for my Ranger are out in my shed because they're still pretty good wheels if I ever needed them or wanted a spare set to have winter tires installed on them which I've been thinking about doing. After 2 ZJ's, I'm thinking possibly a WJ at some point, but I feel the most likely one would be an XJ or an MJ if I ever find one of those in good condition. I have plenty of daily drivers, I want something I can take up on the backroads and trails and not have to worry about, a mild build, very mild lift, and lockers would probably be about it which if that's what I end up doing it would be on an XJ.....if I ever find an MJ I can get my hands on I'm not sure I'd modify it, not many left around in good condition it would stay stock and probably become a DIY vehicle for chores LOL.
Get a manifold and a vacuum pump and watch youtube its really not that hard. Eric the car guy is a good place to start. AC is AC, there are only minor variations in the last two decades, besides refrigerant changes.
I ONLY LIKE OLD 2 DOOR , nav stuff old tech. get new on ebay cheap........... get up before dawn , make egg, thermos coffee, leave with you bag no traffic , get there eat. .

Often a flat screwdriver of the right size can get thise buggered torx screws out.
Yeah, unfortunately there was nothing left of the screw head! lol
Reminds me of the roads in Illinois. We have two seasons here, Winter and Road construction.
LMAO! Seriously. My buddy in Chicago says that too 🤣
Dear Dan could you please shoot a video of how to switch the ignition on for your zj?
I have an XJ ignition switch video coming soon, maybe ill add some ZJ clips too
if you find a 99 wj I need a filler neck and a windshield washer squirters. those are 99 00 only parts
Will do!

I'm still looking for the resonator box that sits on top of the throttle... 2001 wj 4.0. Time to hit up the yard
lol, yes! Theyre out there!
Where’s this pick and pull? I didn’t know there was one around us
It's in Remsenburg/east moriches. It's not really a pick and pull. I just go so many times they let me do my thing. LoL
So how hard is it to get that piece of burlwood trim above the airbag off? It looks like someone got it here
on the passenger side??? lmao. that was me. I'll do a vid on it soon.. it's kinda tricky
Wow New York state knows how to fix roads they really should show the Town of Brookhaven a thing or two
Brookhaven has the worst roads out of anywhere I've ever driven... Just came back from a trip to DE and I was ashamed to return.

Cool thanks.👍🏻
Know of any good ac shops around here that can help me get the ac going in my wj?
